The cottage is lovely, and was immaculate, with what appeared to be brand new appliances. The size of the property and its location suited our needs very well indeed. Peg and Stuart are great hosts, so friendly and communicative, they really made us feel welcome even before we arrived at the property. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the cottage to friends and family.

We really can't fault our short break away at Rose Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, and all the little touches made it feel even more homely. The surrounding area is perfect for walks—whether it's a gentle stroll alongside the stream or a more challenging climb up High Pike. We had a wonderful two-day stay at the Flat at Aikton Arms. The remote and peaceful location, surrounded by farms, provided a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While it’s not a touristy destination, it offers a tranquil hideout away from the crowds. Just an hour away, we could easily explore many of the Lake District’s attractions.
