Located less than a mile from the edge of Hamsterley Forest, bring your bikes along as we can provide lock up storage, or put on those boots and head out for a walk around the forest. We are a work in progress, working farm, providing a comfortable and warm stay after a day of adventure. Hamsterley village is only 4miles away with a lovely pub with great food and drink as well as the club with great beer! Woodland village is also located nearby too with a pub opening Thursday-Sunday for drinks.

Great base for exploring the area. With pubs and coop 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk. Recently renovated to a high standard but still feels characterful and cosy. Underfloor heating, induction hob and super insulated. 2 well behaved dogs only are allowed for a small fee. Sorry no other pets allowed.

This very old, very tiny cottage offers guests a truly cosy place to stay. You’ll find everything you need in just 18 square metres! Ideal for couples and walkers to enjoy a getaway amongst the beautiful countryside of the North Pennines. The approach to Kipling Cottage is stunning and gives you your first glimpse of the beautiful rolling countryside. Please note that the cottage is not suitable for toddlers/small children, and all children must be declared during the booking process.

The Old Byre - Holiday Cottage - Frosterley

The Old Byre is one of four barn conversions situated on a small working farm located on the outskirts of Frosterley. The property is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, overlooking the River Wear and the Weardale Railway. The property has been tastefully refurbished and is full of character and charm. The cottage has shared use of lovely gardens, childrens play area, summerhouse and games room. Theres ample off road parking and we allow up to two well behaved pets to join you.
