Our home is in the heart of 'Poldark Country' in West Cornwall close to the cliffs and moors. The area is renowned for the views, the light and the open space. The accommodation is a self contained flat attached to our house with it's own separate entrance. We are in a small village with a pub and Meadery less than 2 minutes walk away. Other attractions nearby are Geevor Tin Mine and St Just. St Ives, with it's artistic buzz and beaches, and busy Penzance are an easy drive or bus ride away.
“I have given 5 stars all around including for location and style. Keep in mind the location is rural but with a friendly pub and a bus stop virtually across the street. Pretty decent bus service to Penzance and St. Ives. A small grocer and another good pub is a mere ten-minute walk away. Great footpaths too, overlooking the sea. The “cottage” is indeed as advertised. Spotless. A sense of antiquity combined with all the mod-con benefits. Great linens, patchwork quilts and extra throws. Excellent TV. Books to read. For me that is style. It was a soothing haven during troublesome times. Jeremy remained in clear communication but really things functioned so well, I rarely needed to call on him. I hope to return one day.”
The Angel Shepherds Hut is off grid (no electricity) and is situated in the 2 acre grounds of Tremorran’s Quiet Garden. Insulated with sheep’s wool, the hut is made of wood with a shingle roof. A comfortable double bed invites you inside: there is a pull-up table under the window. It is a short walk across the lawn to a luxury shower room with towels, robes and toiletries supplied.
“We had the best stay at the hut! It was super cosy in beautiful surroundings, the garden is so peaceful and everything you needed was there for you there was nothing else you could have wanted. The hosts were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for you my partner said they made the stay what it was. The gallery was lovely and the breakfast was really good highly recommend and we can’t wait to return in the future.”
My place is tucked away in the Hamlet of Bollowal, which is very close to the beautiful, rugged and wild coastal path of the West Penwith peninsula. A great location ideal for walkers and cyclists and those who love the great outdoors. I share my home with 2 friendly dogs (large and small), and 1 very fluffy cat. The house has a bohemian, rustic charm, in other words it is homely not pristine.
“Very charismatic accommodation in a secluded little hamlet mere minutes away from St. Just. We were put at ease by the host and felt welcomed as part of the family. Be aware that the sleeping area is in a converted loft, and as such, access is achieved by climbing a steep ladder. That said, it feels very snug in the loft, particularly if there is a Cornish storm a-raging outside....Definitely a place to stay for animal lovers who like a rural feel to their accommodation. The host, Ruth, is very friendly and incredibly helpful. We would happily stay here again.”
