Shepherd's Hut vacation rentals in English Channel

What an absolute gem of a little getaway, Fiona is a great host and the shepherds hut is absolutely perfect for what we needed. The addition of homemade bread, milk, butter and jam in the fridge is such a lovely and thoughtful touch. Nothing will prepare you for how big and relaxing the hot tub is, we absolutely loved sitting in it and listening to the wildlife. The hut is really private and has its own little garden, we had breakfast lunch and dinner outside as we were so lucky with the weather! We will absolutely be back, thank you for having us!

I have so many great things to say, so to keep it short I'll bullet point. - Great location/community - Private - Friendly and responsive hosts - Clear instructions and tour - Clean and comfortable - Felt very welcomed - Also a bonus of a cat that sounds like a sheep :) Planning to go again, later this year. We really enjoyed our stay. The hut has beautiful surroundings which we enjoyed from the hot tub. We walked to a cafe and then drove into the local town and went to a really nice pub. The hut was clean and had everything we needed. Thanks Fiona 😊

Me and five friends spend New Year’s Eve at Fiona’s huts and we had the most amazing time. The place is even better than what you see in the pictures. It’s cozy, comfortable and well equipped. Fiona has been a completely star, helping us with transport and more. Hopefully we will come back!

Our first time in a Shepard’s hut, small and compact but cosy and cute! Parking is tight but we manage to navigate it! St Mabyn Inn is great we ate there on both evenings very friendly and only a 2 minute walk

Had an amazing 3 nights at Jo's The Hut! It was peaceful and quiet. We were even surprise how cozy and warm it was inside. It has all the necessary amenities to make the stay comfortable and worry-free. We had bonfire every night, and also had some bbq while having the view of the night sky, stars and moon. And in the morning, nothing beats a peaceful and tranquil view with the sound of birds, ponies feeding nearby and the chickens. Just amazing! Thank you Jo for the experience!

We lucked out and had a glorious sun filled weekend at the hut. We walked along the road a short way and then joined the Purbeck way. A beautiful walk. The hut was cosy but spacious enough. The bed and duvet were really comfy. Such a lovely restful weekend. Loads of dry fire wood and quick to warm the space up. Spotlessly clean and nice attention to detail. We’d definitely visit again.

What a lovely peaceful place to stay! The hot tub was nice and hot on our arrival, and the little garden was private, with a hammock, chairs and a firepit. The hut was lovely and clean, with a nice log burner, which we didn't really need to light as it was warm and cosy. There are goats and alpacas in the paddock which are friendly. Nikki was excellent at communicating all the little details, and quick at responding to any queries I had. Thank you Nikki for a top notch experience.

Before our trip I had asked the host if they could provide us with a box of chocolates for my partner and I for our anniversary and when going to pay they demanded that it was a treat on them. This is just a small act of kindness that we received whilst here at this stay. They were very responsive, and helped us with some recommendations about the local area and things to do. I really appreciated their warming welcome and this made the trip really enjoyable. The place is absolutely spotless and comes fully equipped with all sorts of utilities such as kitchen equipment that allowed us to cook multiple meals, an indoor fire to keep warm during autumn, and a large outdoor area to sit outside and take in the fresh local country side air. The whole place had been crafted by hand from the host and you can really appreciate the attention to detail. It’s very cosy and felt like home. So glad we came across this place whilst looking for somewhere to stay. It is an absolutely beautiful place and the hut was stunning. Liz sent all the details ahead of our stay so we knew exactly what there was and how to find it. On arrival Liz meet us and showed us to the hut and then we were left to enjoy the place! The views were incredible and we enjoyed sightseeing around Bath itself which is a short drive away. Would highly recommend staying here, the hut was spotless and Liz had kindly left some coffee/milk etc for us. We hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the views again!

We recently stayed at Andreas Shepherd's Hut in Cruxton, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in a serene rural setting, the hut offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The accommodation was charmingly rustic yet comfortably modern and the interior was well-appointed with thoughtful touches that made it feel cosy and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable and the small kitchenette was equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay which we made the most of both mornings and evenings. The hut's location was perfect. Surrounded by apple trees and rolling hills, it's ideal for leisurely walks, relaxing outside with the fire pit or enjoying the private space alongside the river. The lack of light pollution in the area allowed us to view the Milky Way when stargazing one evening which was the perfect addition to our stay. Andrea was super accommodating, ensuring that everything was in order and even dropped off a homemade Dorset apple cake!

We stayed in Owl hut 2 with our dog Suki. The place was absolutely beautiful, the decor and little touches had been thought out so well; complimentary breakfast goods, any warm beverage you could wish for, pillow spray, luxury shower products and toiletries, even little shower caps if needed. The towels were also very soft and luxurious. There were dog treats, poo bags, feeding bowl and a cozy soft little towel for her muddy paws. The natural surroundings are just perfect for an escape back to nature. The outdoor chairs were dressed with soft cozy blankets and cushions, that looked so welcoming. We enjoyed a fire looking at the stars and relaxed with some wine chatting in comfort. The hut was warm and cozy, I’d brought extra blankets, but they weren’t needed as it retained heat really well. I would absolutely recommend this place as a place for sanctuary and relaxation. It’s worth every penny and provides what I would consider, a luxury retreat.

Had a lovely stay at John and Joan's cabin. Great location with some lovely walks onto the doorstep. Felt very rural but still within easy reach of the local amenities. Wood fired hot tub a real highlight! Would recommend.

I had such a lovely stay at Andrew’s place! The setting is peaceful and secluded, offering total privacy while still feeling completely safe—I’d have no hesitation staying here alone as a woman. The free-roaming chickens were such a charming touch, and the views of the countryside were even more stunning than the photos suggest. Inside, the space had everything I needed, including thoughtful extras like board games that made the evening feel extra cozy. Andrew also provided extensive instructions that made check-in and getting settled a breeze, and he was incredibly quick to respond to any questions. I only stayed for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer! One small note (not a complaint!) is that there weren’t any outlets, so I couldn’t dry my hair, but Andrew provides a portable charger, which was really helpful. Overall, an amazing stay, and I’d absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay. It's very close to town and an easy walk to the beach. It felt very private and the orientation of the windows and deck area made it very secluded with beautiful views. We would happily stay again.

We love staying at Hut on the Heath. Private with a beautiful view in wonderful nature surroundings. Waking up to roaming deer, breakfast outside and cosy fire evenings after a days full of walking, seaside tripping and castle exploring. We’d love to visit again soon.

Me and my wife had a fantastic stay! So peaceful, and the hot tub was amazing! Lucy had to go and pick her husband up due to a broken down vehicle but still found the time to set the tub up for us which we thoroughly enjoyed 😊 will definitely return in the future!

We had a wonderful stay in Nicola's cosy shepherd's hut. Despite wind and rain the hut was toasty warm and comfortable. The hot tub was an absolute treat - half the fun is making the fire and the smell of wood smoke as the water warms. It's a fantastic location - private and perched above Boscastle with lovely views of the coast and amazing stars at night. Ideal to have a walkable pub. Plenty to do nearby with the coast path and Tintagel and Boscastle Harbour and Bude. Nicola is an exceptional host - thank you for the prosecco, fresh milk and delicious shortbread biscuits. The hut is spotlessly clean and well equipped - beautiful! I can't recommend Nicola's place highly enough! We absolutely loved it!

Kenny's Hut was as described if not better. Absolutely perfect little private retreat. I have rated every 5 stars as I would give honest constructive feedback if that's how I felt or I felt it was good but didn't quite live up to expectations/ pricing. But in all truth it was faultless and even the little touches like leaving milk in the fridge, having the hot tub heated for our arrival, meant a lot. Clare and I assume her partner were both very lovely people also, which is an added bonus, and their dogs are adorable. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you for having us 😊
