Welcome to our bright and inviting Coastal Oasis. Newly renovated full-house with handmade wood accents, this modern retreat offers country living in the city. Minutes from downtown, surrounded by lakes, ocean, and scenic trails. Enjoy the full open concept house with large and inviting spaces. Experience the serenity of the outdoors with landscaped lounge areas. Ideal for a relaxed, nature-filled Halifax experience in historic Purcells Cove. Bookings 28+ days require signing a fixed-term lease.

The space
Escape to our full-house Coastal Oasis near Halifax Harbour. Spectacular views over Point Pleasant Park and the Northwest Arm allow you to watch boats of all sizes come and go to the famous port city of Halifax. The house is located in Purcells Cove, near York Redoubt and beside the Nova Scotia Royal Yacht Squadron, and The Saraguay House (wedding event venue/event space).

This rustic/modern space offers a delightful retreat and what we call, country living, but in the city. Just 5 mins by car/taxi from the Halifax Rotary, and 10-15 mins to downtown, the Oasis features 3.5 bath and 5 bedrooms. In addition to the queen-sized beds in most bedrooms (king-sized in the main bedroom), the living areas include comfortable sofas that pull out into additional queen-sized beds, providing flexible additional sleeping arrangements.

Immerse yourself in the ambiance of our fully renovated space, adorned with modern finishes and a minimalist vibe. Large windows invite ample natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere throughout. You can stargaze from the bed in the primary bedroom through the large custom windows and watch the sunrise and sunset over McNabs Island.

Step outside to our freshly landscaped outdoor area, featuring a picnic table, a small grassy lawn, and a fire pit that can be used when conditions and restrictions allow. It's the perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors during your stay.

The home is supplied by a private well with excellent drinking water. With larger groups, if several showers, sinks, and appliances are used at the same time, you may notice a temporary reduction in water pressure during periods of peak use.

We invite you to experience the peace, serenity, and harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern comfort at our Coastal Oasis. Please get in touch with any questions.

Guest access
You're welcome to use all the space on the property, including the grassy lawn, the stone seating area, and the picnic table/BBQ space. There is a garage on site, which is a treated music studio, which is for the landlord's use only. You are welcome to book studio time separately by contacting the host.

Other things to note
Situated on the top of the hill in Purcells Cove, between the Atlantic Ocean and a protected wilderness area of forested hiking trails and lakes, this is an ideal place for scenic walks and visible history. There are several options nearby for swimming in lakes, and there is a small beach at Dingle Park with coastal walking trails and the historic Dingle Tower. For ocean swimming, you will need to drive around 25 minutes to Crystal Crescent Beach or Lawrencetown Beach.

Purcells Cove is a quiet neighbourhood, and parties and loud music are not tolerated. The house is serviced by a well and septic system. Well water is tested regularly and produces pure and delicious drinking water. The septic system prohibits the disposal of strong chemicals or any non-organic material, including tampons and applicators.

Public transit is available (M-F peak hours only), with service from Halifax, Mumford Terminal. Once at the house, there is plenty to explore on foot or by bicycle; however, a car is required for easy access to basic amenities. We can also help with bike rentals, with advance notice upon request.
