Quiet and cosy stay in Coniston, it was perfect. Exactly what we needed for two people! Ideal location being a 5 minute walk into the village and 3 great pubs in a walking distance- would recommend all 3! Martin was very helpful with arrival instructions (make sure you follow the parking route to avoid some hairy hill starts!) and gave lots of recommendations if we didn’t fancy any walking. Having normally stayed in the Ullswater side of the Lakes it was great to explore a different area. Would recommend Rascal House to anymore wanting to switch off from the world and get walking int the great out doors.

We stayed at the Buttermere cottage 6th - 9th April 2025 with our puppy. The cottage was lovely, homely and had all the amenities needed. We ate in throughout our stay and had all the basics needed. The cottage was clean, tidy and had beautiful grounds, only a 5 minute walk to the Esthwaite Lake. My only negative was no sugar with the tea and coffee provided, but that’s my problem - I need to grow up and cut the sugar lol. Being serious, we had a gorgeous time. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially with your four legged friends.

We had a fantastic week. Stephen is very friendly and helpful. The property is in a wonderful location. It is so peaceful with lovely views. It is very well equipped and was very clean. We really appreciated the private parking and also the secure storage for our mountains bikes. We would highly recommend this property and hope to stay again.
