Emma went out of her way to make us feel welcome, offering us lifts and leaving us a lovely breakfast despite having to leave for an early morning flight. The place is lovely and comfortable

Had such a lovely time here. Rooms were as shown in the pictures. Amazing heating, shower and great cooking facilities. Beautiful location. Lawrence was always very helpful with any questions we had and responded very quickly. No complaints at all! Highly recommend staying if you are visiting the area. The only improvement would be to make the property easier to find on check in. 10/10 would love to stay here again

The accommodation is located on a campsite, which creates a very cozy atmosphere. There are plenty of walking opportunities with little to no road crossings. The accommodation was clean and fully equipped for 4 to 5 people. The beds are comfortable, as are the sofas and other furnishings. Communication with the host was excellent, and we also had a contact person from the campsite available. Highly recommended!

Lovely self contained space. Bijou but has everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

Fantastic stay. Property is really great value for money, and in a beautiful peaceful location which allowed us to go on lots of dog walks. 20 min walk to the nearest pub through farmland was really nice walk. Emma was really responsive and gave us lots of great local advice. Only issue we had was the shower was a bit temperamental, but with some fiddling around found a useable setting

We had a great stay at Elen's place. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was clean, well-equipped, and felt like a home away from home.

Enjoyed every moment during my stay at The Stonehouse Barn. Trevor was always available to assist on any questions or issues arising in relation to this unique and beautiful property. Unlike other properties i've stayed before, this was truly special as it's a heritage listed building and still preserves it's 16th century character A peaceful and friendly neighbourhood and on this occasion the weather was the cherry on the icing cake, sunny and very pleasant Looking forward to another stay at The Stonehouse Barn

My wife and I are return visitors, and for good reason. Lizzie was her customary, friendly self. and found time to chat in person (rare) and catch us up on her news since our last visit. She was also generous in offering, unasked, to stock the fridge with milk, eggs, bread, and butter, which we gratefully consumed after our arrival. She knows the area and people who live in an around Edelsborough well, and is happy to offer suggestions when asked. There is no place or host in my many years of using Airbnb that I would rather return to.

A fabulous place to stay, with super friendly and supportive hosts who were on hand to help when needed. Wonderful place with loads of space to relax with the family. It felt the perfect mix of luxury and homeliness. very private with lots of parking and plenty of spaces to relax outside in the sunshine. Whilst it is near the airport, that very quickly became unimportant and did not affect our stay in the slightest. I couldn't recommend Dinah and Mike more highly as hosts. They made The Stables feel like a home from home. We were made to feel incredibly welcomed. We would certainly book again if we were to return to the area.

I cannot recommend this stay highly enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was absolutely flawless. Our host Isabel went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable — every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of including helping to ensure our little one had a lovely comfortable cot bed mattress. The place itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and struck the perfect balance between luxury and cosy charm. It truly felt like a home away from home, and exceeded all our expectations. The welcome scones and fresh milk for a cup of tea were a lovely surprise and greatly appreciated ( and delicious!). Thank you so much Isabel (and family) for making our Easter weekend the best one yet! We would 100% recommend, and would definitely rebook!

We had a really great Christmas stay at Paul’s place. The location is rural, tranquil and perfect for a city getaway. Paul was really great at communicating before we arrived and for ensuring we had everything we needed to get settled in. The barn is recently renovated and has a fantastic kitchen for those who love to cook. The log fire is perfect for a winters night. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely weekend stay. Dogs enjoyed the biscuits, very helpful with extra towels for cleaning their feet. Loved the apartment. Reminded me of my loft at parents house. Little treats. We (2 adults, 1 son of 14 and a dog) have had an amazing Christmas holiday week. Valerie and Philip are top hosts. At the arrival we really felt welcome. The scones, bottle of wine and dog cookies are an example of true hostmanship. Valerie and Philip are easy to communicate with and always respond quickly. The black barn was warm, cosy and is a quiet spot near beautiful meadows, woods and lovely Berkhamstead. London, Oxford and Windsor Castle are within reach by car or car/train. At 2,5 miles you can charge your EV (max 150 kw/h) at the parking lot behind M&S (Berkhamsted). We really recommend spending your time at the black barn. England at its best.

beautiful place, very hidden and peaceful. had a lovely romantic break with my partner and would gladly go back. be prepared for the noises from the animals at night!

Veronica and husband were great when i arrived for check in and then on hand if needed (which was hardly needed) gave me an excellent recommendation for a local walk which was brilliant. accomodation had so much character and was perfect for what we wanted it for.

Me and my bestie stayed here for a little country getaway, it was just the thing we were looking for and gave us all the things we were after. The property is beautiful, the grounds are lovely to explore and you feel right at home. David was very attentive and thorough with the check-in process and kept in touch throughout the stay to make sure we had everything we need. The beds were very comfy and the living space was a lovely place to relax and unwind. The local town of Chesham was a quaint and cute place to walk around, as well as some other local towns. i couldn't recommend this enough if you're looking for a little break away from a busy lifestyle.
