Monthly Rentals in High Normanby

We’re just home from a 5-night stay at The Den and we absolutely loved it. What a gem! Lisa was a fantastic host and the cottage was extremely clean and cosy. We loved the comfy beds and the generous Easter welcome basket was such a lovely surprise after a long trip up. We ate dinner twice at the popular Hare & Hounds pub in the village (booking seemed to be essential) and thoroughly enjoyed our meals on both occasions. The cottage is ideally situated in our opinion — just outside the hustle and bustle of Whitby itself. It felt like a snug place to retreat to and everything we needed could be found there. I hope we can visit again next year! Don’t hesitate to book in.

As regular visitors to Whitby we have no reservations in recommending Sunset Stable following our two night stay. At the outset we were made so very welcome by the owners Chris and Roger who are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt immediately at home. Within the first 20 minutes of arriving we witnessed to local Barn Owl swooping over the adjacent fields, it set the tone for a wonderful short stay close to nature. The first evening we sat outside, wrapped in warm blankets provided by the hosts, gazing at the stars. If you want a quiet off-grid getaway, yet only 10 minutes drive to Whitby it’s perfect. Sunset Stable is exactly as described, a place to unwind. If there was fridge and cooking facilities we’d have stayed longer, although we knew there wasn’t at the outset. In the future we’ll definitely return. Thank you Chris and Roger, the world needs more people like you and more get-away places like Sunset Stable.

This break was just what the Doctor ordered! I totally agree with previous reviews! Great location for walks, Coastal Path and Cinder Track close by. Nice friendly Pub a stones throw away from the Cottage that serve beautiful food at very reasonable prices. The Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable break! It was clean and warm with a nice box of biscuits with tea/coffee and milk to greet you on arrival! Many thanks, to you and your Daughter Emma!
