Vacation rentals with lake access in Houghton

This is the only house I have ever gone back to and I've been there 4 times. You will not find a winter waterfront view like this anywhere else. The home is spacious, quiet, and well kept.

place is beautiful with plenty of space. If you in town for snowmobile or ORV trails this is the place. Trail runs right in front of the property easy to access. Not loud either.

The accommodations were as described. The place was very well kept and clean. The large room upstairs over looking Portage Lake is beautiful. I would highly recommend. Hope to return next year

The house was exactly as pictured. One of the few stays where I was able to cook breakfasts and dinners and had everything I needed. The main family room with the fireplace was cozy and relaxing. We typically chose the places we stay for the sauna and this one was one of the best. It heated up quickly and steamed well. The lake view was amazing with peak color and close to fun outdoorsy things we love when in the UP.

This place is very warm and cozy, and in peaceful surroundings - great view of the lake. Well stocked with plenty of amenities. Wonderful hot water and the beds were comfy. Sherry was incredibly helpful and responsive and worked to get me some local suggestions. Their local history and familial connections was a bonus. We were there in height of winter (Feb.) would be curious to see it in summer as well.

We loved staying at Kyle’s place! The host was responsive and provided clear instructions and suggestions. The house was very clean and spacious, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of comfortable seating - loved the porch and outdoor space. The mattress was super comfortable, which is important to my old bones after a day of hiking/exploring! We were only two people, but you could easily accommodate a large family or group and have plenty of room! We loved the remote waterfront location, it was so quiet and peaceful. We explored the Baraga County area (recommend the Lake and County tour), easily made day trips east to the Michigamme area and west to the Keweenaw and to Houghton for a MTU football game. We even got to see the Northern Lights right from the yard! It was a great time and we are already talking about coming back!

I loved her cozy Airbnb! Felt like I was home 🏡 but a lot colder and way more snow 😊. Very very clean and had everything we needed to cook meals which is not always the case. PLENTY of sleeping room. It was just my daughter and I but wanted to check it out for the summer time and I will try to rent it again for then. Cheryl was super sweet and kind. We had an issue but she was very quick to respond and fix the situation. GREAT host! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

We had a great week of snowmobiling out of Nikki’s Lodge on the lake in the woods. Our group of 16 guys had plenty of room to hangout comfortably, plenty of kitchen and eating space, and a great time all being together rather than renting 8 hotel rooms for the week. What a cost savings for us and was way better being together all the time. We snowmobiled out of the cabin to the groomed trails a couple of days, and trailered to Republic and Champion the other days. We had some phenomenal riding. We brought ice fishing gear for the private lake but not enough time on this trip, maybe next time we’ll fish either in summer or winter. The deer walking up to the back deck and eating out of our hands was an awesome experience as well. I would highly recommend Nikki’s place for a big group of family or friends. We will definitely be back again!

Would definitely look for availability here next time I am in Houghton! If you’re. If you’re not familiar with the area, the walk from this location to shops/food is beautiful and very pleasant along the waterway. Great views and spacious!

My husband and I needed a last minute place to stay over the past weekend. We wanted to stay in the L’Anise area, since we have a friend that lives in the town, and this was the best option. The unit is clean, has an amazing view of Lake Superior and is very spacious. I was very impressed with the unit overall. I would gladly book again!

We had a fantastic time for a winter weekend getaway. The listing was accurate, the unit was very clean and spotless, and check in and entry was easy despite plenty of snow. Thanks for a great home in this winter wonderland!

We always enjoy staying at Lexie’s place. Relaxed luxury in the heart of downtown Houghton with a short walk to all of our favorite spots.

This is a great space and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. It is obviously cared for as if it was an extension of someone’s home and you can feel that when you’re there. Extremely cozy and comfortable. Well stocked with all the necessities and super close to downtown, not to mention the fantastic , coffee, donuts and pasties at the shop Downstairs!

Had a fantastic overnight stay here. Loved the location in Houghton - the proximity to the Michigan Tech Ski Trails was awesome, great view of the bridge, and lots of good shops and food nearby. Our suite was clean, bright and modern. Large and nice bathroom. Really felt like a getaway.

Lynette is a wonderful host. She let us know as soon as the apartment was ready for us and had prepared it to make us feel relaxed and welcome. She was also very considerate when our plans changed around checkout time, truly went above and beyond.

Great for snowmobilers, about 1-2 blocks from direct access to trail 14 - no need to trailer. Room to park trailer and sleds. Close to fuel stop. Restaurants within walking distance, or off trail. Nice cozy and clean place, more room than typical hotel room with kitchen amenities.

This is our second stay at the wonderful cottage. Beautiful lake-views/frontage, shady picturesque surrounding trees, UP nature at its finest. We love the cottage and felt right at home and it provided everything we needed. Thank you for providing a wonderful vacation spot for us again!

I have only absolutely wonderful things to say about our stay here! The location, on the shore of Lake superior, near Mt Bohemia but also near to other attractions was fantastic. The house itself is lovely as is the sauna house. I have never stayed in an airbnb so well appointed. The decor was lovely, nice bedding, games, books, etc. The kitchen was better stocked with pans etc than my own. It was perfect for many lovely family meals. We had an incredible stay! I hope we will come back many times in the future! Thank you!

Would definetly stay here agian. Stayed here in mid-February and there were a good 18'' of snow around the property but there was a small walkway cleared to access the cottage. Overall this was a great place. The host was responsive with the one issue we encountered and worked to fix it same day. My only feedback would be that the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the TV audio was so bad it was basically unusable. I don't think either issue should be a disqualifier for most people who consider this location. Also my girlfriend and I both enjoyed the shower.

We stayed at the Solstice Cottage for a few days in February, and the place served us well. The check-in process was straightforward, and the house manual was clearly written. The place was clean and spacious enough for a family of four. We hope to stay at the Cottage again soon!

We visited for a weekend skiing trip at Mont Ripley. Shannon's place was clean, quiet, and the perfect size for our family of four. The location is just what we were looking for, away from the hustle and bustle of Houghton and Hancock but just a short drive to Mont Ripley and restaurants. Just a word of caution, the road leading to the cabin is rural, and during our three day visit we received about 8 inches of snow and it was never plowed. We didn't have any issues getting in and out, but four wheel drive is probably required on snowy weekends.
