Brilliant studio apartment in a beautiful setting close to some great walks. The perfect place for to unplug and reset.

Booked the house in Milburn due to its proximity to penrith and the lake district, with its surrounding tourist areas like castles and walks. Its only about 15min to get to Lowther Castle which has a big play park and grounds to walk about. The house is small but very cosy and well equipped. We booked between Christmas and New year and the host had put up a Christmas tree. The village of Milburn had lots of houses decorated with Christmas lights. the log burner was so nice to come back to after being out in the cold. The house sleeps 6, we were a family of 5 with a pet and the house easily catered for the 5 of us. wifi and tv worked great, kitchen had all the utilities you needed. There is no shop in the village any more but supermarkets are a short drive into penrith or there is a local corner shop in the next village. Nice pub in Long Marton (Masons Arms) which even did gluten free fish and chips. It was a lovely, wintery trip, reminded us of the film, the holiday.

Such a sweet space to spend a week. Andri, Tom and everyone who lives there is kind and accommodating. In winter, be prepared to tend the wood stove as it gets quite cold - but that can be part of the charm as well. The space is beautiful built and overall a pleasant stay.
