“A lovely little cottage as a base in and around Knaresborough. The spiral staircase is a great feature which feels very authentic and in keeping with the age of the property; the whole cottage has been decorated in a very sympathetic way, so the house feels instantly ‘homey’. Very well appointed with fresh towels, hairdryer, microwave, blankets etc. and Jan is an excellent host. We stayed for 2 nights with our baby and toddler sons to visit family in the area. The front door opens into the cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove. There’s a good-sized smart TV with lots of leads should you want to hook it up to your laptop or whatever. The sitting room leads through to a very well equipped kitchen with a dining table - Jan had provided bread, milk, eggs, jams, butter, tea, coffee and porridge which was such a welcome surprise! The spiral staircase goes from the sitting room up to the 1st floor bedroom and the bathroom comes off that room. On the 2nd floor is the other bedroom - both beds were extremely comfy. The space only 2 doors; one for the bathroom and another for the kitchen, so it worked well for us being so ‘open’ because we could hear our boys wherever we were. The spiral staircase was a bit tricky with the boys, but we didn’t mind as it’s such a beautiful addition to the house and part of the reason we chose the cottage! We had a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend Jan’s hospitality.”
Our home is just a 5 minute walk (uphill) to the centre of the historic market town of Knaresborough, but is located in a really quiet private area with free allocated parking for one car. The annexe is part of an original Coach House and is comfortable, cosy and well equipped. It is linked to our home but is completely separate with it's own entrance. There is also access to the large garden with seating area. It is the perfect base for exploring Yorkshire, the Dales and the East Coast.
“My husband and I have just spent 3 nights in this lovely clean and cosy apartment. If you are debating whether to book; don't hesitate. Easy self check-in, private parking next to building, 2/3 minutes walk to town centre and a fantastic welcome pack of cereals, milk, tea, coffee, bread, butter and bacon and eggs! In our opinion this is surely the best place to stay for a trip to Knaresborough and cannot praise it highly enough. Thank you both once again for a lovely stay.”
Recently converted, this ground floor apartment is in an impressive riverside location in the heart of Knaresborough’s Waterside. Finished to a very high standard, the property, the views and the location are perfect for a quiet get away. With daily sightings of Kingfishers, herons and other wildlife, 'Riverside' is perfect.
“What a fantastic place! Great location, beautiful apartment and lovely hosts. Clive and Julie are so helpful and thoughtful. The welcome pack of food included everything we needed and more from arrival to breakfast. The apartment and setting is beautiful, and it’s a lovely walk along the river into town. We stayed indoors for one whole day during storm Ciara but with all the movie channels, media and books at our disposal, plus the amazing view of the river from the lounge, we still had a fantastic day! Can recommend the Mother Shipton pub that you can see just over the bridge from the back terrace. The food and beer is amazing! We shall return!”
