This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Komachiya is located in a local Kyoto shopping arcade lined with grocery stores, cafes and immediately puts you in Kyoto daily life. A short walk takes you to Shirakawa, a willow-tree lined river which meanders through the historical Gion area.
