Vacation rentals with breakfast in Lake Arenal

We loved the casita at El Silenco del Campi. Everyone was extremely friendly. We checked in late from our drive from San Jose. The staff showed us how to get to our casita. The food was great and the location was easily accessible to activities. Our kids loved the animals and the farm. Definitely recommend for families or couples looking for a relaxing time.

I can’t say enough about Jennie and her beautiful home. Our family of five all had enough space to spread out. She provided a lot of recommendations and was very responsive which is nice when you are visiting another country. Her recommendations were spot on and we had a blast visiting this beautiful part of the world.

The bumpy roads and distance are absolutely worth the time and effort to get here! Walking into the home and yard is like walking into the garden of Eden. We loved every minute, even with all the rain! The people in this area are amazing, and truly treat you like a friend. Pura Vida at its best!

Jim and Carol's place is a bit off the beaten path about 30 mins outside of La Fortuna. They are wonderful, kind and attentive hosts. The breakfast each morning was delicious and Jim delighted us with stories and magic tricks. Would reccomend for travelers who want something outside of the town and who wants to be more in nature/secluded.

Jenny's place was awesome! very close to the main road and very close to restaurants, shops and to many attractions in Monteverde. Jenny is a fantastic host. Communication was great, she gave us great recommendations , and the breakfast she prepares and serves is a great way to start the day. The house was spacious for our family of 5. We highly recommend it.

If you are a birder, you have found your perfect destination. We went birding at a lot of places in CR, and the best birding spot of all was the porch at Wildlife Paradise, which also comes with a friendly and knowledgeable resident professional naturalist and birding guide; Eduardo. Local fruit, homemade tortillas and freshly made empanadas, still warm from the pan, were a hit with us, courtesy of Nidia. There is secure locked parking, excellent tour recommendations, and the ability to book private tours run by your host, who is locally respected amongst the guiding community. The lodging is very reasonably priced, and easily accommodates 2 or 3 (4 in a pinch). This place is way off the beaten path, like the birds. We saw a trio of male 3-wattled bell birds on one branch here. I chalked up half of my lifers in CR while I had a coffee in my hand on the porch. The peace was amazing; the silence deafening. Nature permeates everything about this place. Go to here!

The bed and breakfast was so nice to walk to in the mornings!

Great home base in Santa Elena. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and short drive to many activities. The included breakfasts were delicious.

This place is great. Location: beautiful next to místico however after 4pm the restaurant next door is closed. A car is needed. Parking is included. Room : the room is exactly as shown. It is clean and the AC works Staff: the front desk staff is great. They are friendly Overall would stay here again.

This place is phenomenal! Super quiet, away from the tourist areas. Makes for a great home base. It’s not in walking distance to Santa Ana, but we preferred that as it was much quieter and peaceful. Would have loved to stay longer. Thanks for a great stay!

Anthony's place is in a good location just outside the center of Monterverde, well-positioned for trips there and for driving to La Fortuna when you're done in Monterverde. He is friendly and responsive. The breakfast is good; he is friendly and responsive. For the price, it's a good value.

Kris and Marie are exceptional hosts. They have built their own peaceful paradise. We enjoyed the eco friendly and vegan hosting and we particularly liked that they were so helpful and communicative. They helped us book transport from La fortuna and they had loads of helpful recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The breakfast is brilliant. Very filling and the pancakes and Açai bowl we really enjoyed alongside our chai tea. This is a unique place built by them, with an eco toilet and they live upstairs while you have your own space and privacy downstairs. We also did the yoga with Marie which we really enjoyed and was worth every penny. The accommodation is on a steep dirt road which we did walk up a few times and used taxis when we were too tired. Kris kindly picked us up from where the shuttle dropped us when we arrived as it would have been really hard to climb up with our suitcase. We also got to see monkeys at the bottom of the road!

Right in the centre of Santa Elena with shops, tour offices, restaurants and everything you might need in walking distance. Amazing value, wonderful staff and a beautiful town. Would stay there again. El Tigre Waterfalls was absolutely top of the list. Rope bridges, waterfalls, rivers running across the path - it feels like you're really in the rainforest. And ask Ronny about the sunset spot - the view is one-of-a-kind out over the Nicoya peninsula.

Great place! The room is cute and comfortable. The bathroom is inside the room. There is an A/C, linens, towels, soap and shampoo. Your car is safe inside the gate, right outside your room. The common eating area has a beautiful view of a lush garden with a variety of plants and birds. We left too early for breakfast, but the hosts were so kind to have coffee, hot chocolate and homemade donuts for us. Communication was almost instant, and they were very accommodating of our odd schedule. Such a lovely place!

Great location! My husband and I only stayed one night as we were visiting the clouds forest for a day. Unit was clean and as it appears in photos. Premises was gorgeous with absolutely beautiful gardens. There was even a neighborhood sloth on site when we visited. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The town was walkable from this location, we didn’t have to drive at all. Plenty of parking space if you drove like we did. I would recommend and would come back again!

We loved our stay at Casa Rayo de Luna! The room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and comfortable. In a quiet, beautiful location just 3 minutes from town centre by car. Jose Pablo and his family were such kind people and they make a delicious breakfast! Highly recommended.

Marlenny and Freddie are great hosts. My daughters and I had a great time. Some might find the rooms a little small, but we weren't in Santa Elena/MonteVerde to hang out in a room (and they were priced appropriately). Marlenny communicated really well and helped book out activities in the cloud forest and their family coffee farm (if you like coffee you really should do their tour). Staff was friendly and breakfasts excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Airbnb stay. Despite the room being on the smaller side, it was perfectly cozy for two people. The neighborhood felt safe, and its proximity to downtown La Fortuna was a definite plus. The daily breakfast was not only delicious but added a delightful touch to our mornings. The hosts were incredibly friendly, making our overall experience wonderful. Highly recommended!
