Kashihara Jingu Shrine is a historic town with the mausoleum and shrine of the first emperor of Japan, in the place where Japan began. It is also a place with a lot of greenery and nature. In the neighborhood, there is Asuka, which retains the appearance of ancient Japan, and is dotted with many ruins. Imai-cho, where the old streets from the Edo period still exist, is also a highlight. Kashinoki-an is a pure Japanese-style house built over 60 years ago, and you can also enjoy the garden. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated for a pleasant stay. There is also a tourist information center, restaurant, tavern, supermarket, drug store, convenience store, and 100-yen shop nearby, making it very convenient. Good place before or after Koyasan. Small but lots of good bars and restaurants. And little nature stuff. Good walking spot for sunrise / sunset. On the way to Koyasan . 5 min to nearest metro( Kongo station). 25 min to Namba. No tourists around here but definitely recommend spending some time here !!
