The Little Red School House Bed & Breakfast

Get back to nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of our country getaway in the historic "Little Red School House", just 30 minutes inland from Oamaru. Our B & B is located on our 940 hectare family farm which we run sheep and beef cattle on. The farm is situated over 400m above sea level so has panoramic country views. An early morning or evening walk is amazing for taking in the sunrise or sunset. We are happy to pick up people travelling on the Alps to Ocean Trial. Breakfast included.

Otematata's population is 200, swelling to 5000 in summer. It is on the road between Oamaru & Omarama.

It is a great base to explore Tekapo, Twizel, Mount Cook , clay cliffs at Omarama and the Coastal town of Oamaru . It is also on the A20 cycle trail . My Apartment is a golfers paradise and has an outdoor eating area and Sky T V. But no WiFi.

The Shepherd's Rest is a Shepherds Hut and glamping experience. The hut is situated on a 300 acre bull beef farm and approx a 5 minute drive to central Oamaru. Unwind in the outdoor bathtub (gas heated). The 3 alpaca & pet sheep are your friendly neighbours. 4pm Farm Tour for additional fee. The country location is the perfect place to relax, star gaze, enjoy the scenery, birdsong & farm sounds. It’s a great base to explore Oamaru & the Waitaki area.

Buckley’s Retreat

We offer this unique tiny home with fantastic Ocean views. You can wake to the sunrise and watch the sunset at night all from your bed. We offer continental breakfast. You will love spending time in this beautiful, historic cottage in the heart of Naseby Village. Built in 1882, the cottage has undergone a full restoration of the interior and now offers luxury accommodation. We are close to local shop, village pub, cafe, park (inc children play area), museum, information centre, tennis courts, Naseby Forest Recreation Area, swimming dam. Don't forget Naseby as a fantastic dark skies location!!
