Looking to leave the hustle and bustle of the city? Our Glamper is a simple place to camp for a couples get-away, small family get-away, or the weekend hunting trip....a place to enjoy Hill country sunsets , gaze at the wide open starry skies, and breathe in good ole’ country air. We are located in Rio Frio, TX just up the road from the beautiful Frio River. Garner state park is only a few miles down the road. ***Property is not located on the river***
“The Glamper is a great little place to stay in Rio Frio. It is convenient to all the local amenities. It is located right in between Leaky and Concan, TX, and about 3.5 miles from Garner State park. It should be mentioned that almost EVERYTHING in this area closes at 9pm. To find restaurants, or grocery stores open beyond this time, Uvalde, TX would be the closest city to go to at 40 miles to the south. Holly, the host, is extremely responsive! She knows how to effectively communicate, which is very important for this type of experience. The land is beautiful, and the location is very private. You are able to see Holly's house and backyard from the Glamper, but as she states in the description - privacy is respected. The Glamper is clean and welcoming. The AC works wonderfully. There are some games in their as well. The beds are comfy also. Be sure to flip the little switches to the left of the entrance to "on" when you come in so that all the lights work. There is a built in radio with CD player, so if you have some CD's bring those! The speakers are located on the roof so sound is abundant throughout. On the backside of the Glamper there is a small sitting area with a fire pit and lights strung around the tent that covers it, along with some chairs and a citronella candle. It was hot while my friend and I were there, so we never used this feature, but if it were cooler we may have! In the description, it reads that the Glamper sleeps 4, but I really believe it is most comfortable with 3 adults, or maybe a family of 4 with two younger children. Price point for the Glamper is hard to beat! It fell just below almost every single cabin or Inn that is out in that area. In short, it was great, and I will be back the next time I travel to this area!”
* StarLight RV sits on a peaceful ridge in the Texas Hill Country. It's located on a "no-thru-traffic" country road (CR 357) west of Utopia off of Highway 1050. ** View the brightest Milky Way skies between San Antone & Terlingua. *** Most nights, besides the singing of cicada or the call of a coyote, the only sounds to be heard is the calling of dove to their mates. **** Enjoy a few nights in this Hill Country Paradise on Tomahawk Ridge Road. (Property gate GPS: "3164 CR357, Utopia, Texas")
“Ben was overly accommodating even when we got turned around and he met us an hour passed our arrival time! Ben gave us great direction and tips on where to hike! The area was so peaceful and quiet with an amazing view of the hills during the day and an unbelievable view of the stars at night! We are currently picking dates for next months “home away from home”!”

“Patricia and Ken's place is a dream. You'll find no better place to relax on a trip to Garner State Park or Lost Maples. We loved meeting them and chatting about their property and all the fun aspects of it--from the star gazing/bird watching platform, to the chapel, to the hiking opportunities in the dry creek bed, they have it all! Pat and Ken also have the best hospitality. We were greeted by them personally and given freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Each morning they included a delicious homemade breakfast. Their attractive cabin has plenty of outdoor seating (and swings) as well as everything you could possibly need inside. They've thought of all the conveniences, including blackout curtains sewn by Patricia herself! You won't regret staying here; we (and our two dogs) loved it and felt so relaxed!”
