  • Alans place was out of this world. Clean and perfect. We got good weather but I don't see any weather dampening this beautiful space. The marina and river walk are incredible and the sun coming up and going down being in perfect view was out of this world. Couldn't recommend more. Can't wait to go back.

  • Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a night/weekend. Really nice place to stay and ideal for a couples night away. Would definitely go back.

  • We had such a lovely time at Alan’s place. The house itself is gorgeous and decorated beautifully. It was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The location is amazing with beautiful views from the house. Alan also stocked the fridge and left us fresh eggs which was a lovely touch. Great experience overall, we will definitely be back.

  • Beautiful views, very modern and tidy room and excellent hospitality from Alan. A true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city

    Graham2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's place is very clean and stylishly decorated and had everything we could have wanted. It felt fairly private, was very quiet and the location overlooking the river Barrow was truly beautiful. This would be a great location in the summer with the balcony and the outside space.

    Michael2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Alan! Such a hidden gem only a stones throw away from local amenities. Lovely little touches made it feel like a home away from home. We will definitely be back Thanks!

  • Wow what an amazing space! Such a beautiful plot of land, with incredible views, we really couldn’t believe it. Host was fantastic, excellent communication and very hospitable. Apartment was sparkling clean and had everything you could ask for. We were especially delighted with what came in the fridge in particular the fresh eggs from Alan’s hens located on the land. Amazing! Overall a great stay, would highly recommend. :)

Also Breda gave us great advices for tours and activitys in the area. The cottage was perfect, really clean, comportable and quiet. We enjoyed every day there! It was the best place to stay while the covid19 locked down everything. We would come here everytime again :)

  • This place was an adventure to find but the host placed signs along the the way to make it easier. It was such a relaxing and beautiful place with a view to die for, especially from the bathroom. Our son fell in love with the cat who greeted us daily. The Borris area had plenty to do as well. The host was wonderful and helpful. Loved everything about our stay!

  • Breda’s place is so homey and charming- one night just wasn’t enough! We were greeted by a little kitty named Linda, and she was so sweet we wanted to take her home with us. The breakfast items were a nice surprise, and greatly appreciated. Having a washer/dryer was a great bonus and super convenient. My daughter was thoroughly entertained with the toys, games and books. This place is great, and comes equipped with everything you could want. Highly recommend it!

  • Margaret’s house is a great place. We were 9 students who stayed there for a night and we loved it. The beds were really comfortable with enough space for everyone. The kitchen is really big and great to cook in. While the place is a bit remote that doesn’t really matter and we were provided with good directions. We all would go back there again.

  • What a lovely BnB! Once we figured out the heating and hot water timers, it was perfect! Plus the wood stove fire place made for a perfectly cozy environment. Very clean, beautiful view of the country side on all sides of the BnB. Quick responses and very helpful. Great stay!

Clean and tidy, dishwasher and washing machine, tv and radio. It was truly a home from home. (And Aldi just up the road for extras). John couldn't possibly have done more for us. Thank you so much

  • We had an amazing stay at Alan's with our toddler and baby. The apartment was spotless and the location is simply amazing - overlooking farmland, a river and hills in the distance. With chickens and lambs to visit, swans on the river (which has a lovely walk along side it and private access to the riverwalk from Alan's property) our toddler was never bored. Alan and his family are so welcoming; always ready to share local knowledge or invite our toddler to help feed the chickens - they couldn' t have been better hosts. The flat is great and there are lots of thoughtful touches - breakfast supplies and lots of fresh eggs. We would absolutely stay here again!

Someone is always near to help if something should happen. Right next to pubs and a grocery store. Walk along the river to see the ducks and geese. Thanks again Eoin!

  • Sparkling clean and comfortable. Smooth check in and no issues whatsoever. Lovely location next to the canal and easy drive to surrounding areas of interest.

    Maureen2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with host. Eoin's place is great base for exploring nearby towns.

    Hana2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Eoin is a fantastic host, in regular contact to check all was ok. Check in was fabulous, the accommodation spot less and added extras which were unexpected. The town is my home and to be able to stay so local just made it a better weekend. For those who don’t know the area there are lots to do locally, a train station in the town and regular buses. Using Eoins place as a base for going off sight seeing is a must. We’ll definitely be booking again.

  • My son and I had a wonderful stay. All the correspondences were responded promptly and the booking processed so smoothly. There was no issue checking in at all although we arrived very late (2am) after a wedding reception. The key was stored in a locked box with passcode informed beforehand. The two bedrooms my son and I stayed were both spotless with very clean ensuite with good electric shower and there was also a separate bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. What impressed me most was that the house was so warm and welcoming when we arrived after 2am. The decor is modern and stylish. The table was set with a plenty selection of cerials and bread when we woke up in the morning and welcomed by the host and had a lovely chat with her. It was such a pleasant stay. I highly recommend this place.

  • Vera's house is comfortable, cozy, spotless and absolutely perfect to relax after busy day. Vera anticipates all your needs - she really puts a lot of effort in making this place welcoming and comfortable. There is a real thought about your needs in everything you will find in the room - plenty of towels, tv, kettle, selection of teas and biscuits. There are full length mirrors and hairdryer for your use - every woman will appreciate this. Rooms are spotless and so are bathrooms. And if you are tired of eating out there is a fully fitted kitchen to prepare some meals. I love coming back here.

  • You will feel safe and comfortable in Vera's home. She put a lot of thought and effort to prepare comfortable bedrooms and kitchen amenities for her guests. Add to this friendly atmosphere, very helpful and warm host and quiet area within driving distance to everything you may want to see and experience in Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny and you will not find a better place to stay.

Late 18th century beautifully restored stone cottage set in the rural hamlet of Castlewarren, with it’s winding country lanes. In summer the cottage garden can also be used for camping. In winter months a log burning stove ensures cosy times at home.A short walk from the cottage will give you views of Mount Leinster and the Blackstairs Mountains.Perfect touring base for the South East of Ireland. The medieval city of Kilkenny is an 18 min drive away. Dublin City is 1.5 hrs.
The cottage is a peaceful haven , the only noise will be the sounds of rural county life , tractors passing by or cows been moved along the laneways.A passing farmer May close the cottage gates before the cows are moved 😊The cottage has thick stone walls and high ceilings. The double rooms all have king sized beds. The upstairs en-suite bedroom is a scheduled space above the main house. The cottage is a place where you can really disconnect and soak up the tranquility of the area.
We are a 18 min drive to the medieval city of Kilkenny where you will find a wealth of tourist attractions.Kilkenny is renowned for it’s cultural festivals well known amongst these is The Kilkenny Arts week and the Cat’s Laugh. The city and county is a also a foodie destination with an abundance of artisan food suppliers and highly acclaimed restaurants.Savour Kilkenny is an annual national food event , usually in October, hosted outside the beautiful Norman Castle- Kilkenny Castle one of the most iconic landmarks in the country. The region is also home to a thriving community of artists painters, writers , jewellers, musicians .... For outdoor activities, horse riding at the beautiful Mount Juliet hotel in Thomastown is highly recommended, the hotel is also home to The Lady Helen Restaurant an internationally acclaimed restaurant with a one Michelin star.Fishing on the river Nore is also possible by prior arrangement.Hand gliding, biking and hiking are all highly sought after and Mount Leinster part of the Blackstairs Mountain range is an ideal location for this at almost 800 metres high.Castlecomer Discovery Park is also a short drive away with activities for children and the newly opened Avalon Hotel next door to the park is ideal for brunch. There is an excellent walking trail starting at Goresbridge (18 mins from the cottage) follow the river Barrow to the picturesque town of Graiguenamanagh.
  • We were so delighted to find this spot to cozy up in right near Kilkenny. It isn't too difficult to travel back and forth- I only suggest not taking the first left once you get on the last road per the instructions, but rather waiting until you see the first cottage on the left! The place is the perfect combination of old world with modern amenities. We loved waking up on the top floor and peeking out over the Irish landscape through the window. And the birdsong! And the breakfast!! All worth repeating!

    Alyssa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Perfect place for those who do not want to stay in downtown Kilkenny! She left us breakfast materials which was perfect for our travel plans! Cottage was cute with all the necessities! Had great communication with her the entire time!

  • Wonderful location and beautiful cottage with all amenities needed and gracious host!

    Priscilla2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage at Castlewarren was simply the best! The decor, the cleanliness, and the personal touches of fresh daffodils. Mary Jo even left a birthday card for my Mom - the sweetest surprise. I hope to come back one day and stay longer! Xx

    Kelly2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • I doubt there is a more beautiful cottage in all of Ireland.....or Europe for that matter! The cottage was beautifully decorated, sparkling clean, comfy beds, and Mary Jo spoiled us with a kitchen full of breakfast foods and even brought freshly baked scones in the morning! I wish we had planned on spending more time in this idyllic place.

    Terry2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was a delightful place to stay. It was in the country and close driving distance to the city of Kilkenny. Mary Jo was such a wonderful hostess and made it feel like home. If you are looking to stay in a place in the country, this is the perfect spot. It had all the little amenities that made our trip special. I can’t wait to stay here again!

    Christine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

The apartment has been recently renovated. The first bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has two single beds. There is a good sized living room with cable TV. WiFi available. Fully functioning kitchen with all modern conveniences.
Borris commands panoramic views of the neighbouring countryside with Mount Leinster and the Blackstairs Mountains to the east, and the Barrow Valley to the west. The town has one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland as well as a 16-arch limestone viaduct (the 16 Bridges) built in 1860 and designed by William le Fanu.
  • The apartment is clean and cozy, home away from home, Fiona and John are a lovely couple who truly looked after me. Highly recommend.

    John2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Borris is a lovely little town. We were doing some walking along the river Barrow, and Fiona's apartment was ideal for this. The apartment has everything you could want or need, a cosy sitting room, practical kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The water pressure in the bathroom is low, but manageable. Fiona left us bread, butter, milk, jam, tea and coffee which was very thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Elizabeth2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona was an absolute wonderful host! The location was in a cute little town, right on Main Street, which was perfect for our 2 days exploring the local sites. She was always available when we had any questions. She met us upon check in and gave us many recommendations for local pubs and restaurants. It's a shame we didnt have more nights to spend here, as the apartment had everything you could need, including breakfast essentials (bread, coffee, milk, etc) The bedrooms and living room were spacious and comfortable. There was also plenty of onsite parking behind the building. I will definitely recommend Fiona and her apartment to anyone wanting a nice relaxing trip in a quiet little town.

    Neil2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We attended a local wedding in Borris and needed accommodation. Eileen’s place was perfect! We had the whole house to ourselves & Eileen left thoughtful touches such as bread, buns, supply’s for tea and breakfast, she also kindly dropped us to town the following morning. There was a lovely stove in the sitting room and ample space if you had a larger group. It turned out to be quiet a cold night so I’d suggest a hot water bottle for extra warmth. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

    Lynda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen was super. She had the stove lit for us when we arrived, had bread, cupcakes and biscuits there upon our arrival and even dropped us to the wedding venue. Very thoughtful and ideal location. Thank you 😃

The rooms were very nice and spotless and you could feel at home. In the evening we sat with Mark and his wife in their beautiful garden. We slept great and in the morning a delicious and sumptuous breakfast was waiting for us. We are happy to spend the night with Mark and were very sad that we had to leave him so fast. Gladly again - it was great!

My place is a short distance to nightlife, the town centre, family-friendly activities, and public transport. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the views, the location & the quietness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets). Check-in time may be earlier upon request.
I live in the country so you will be guaranteed quietness & on a summers evening you can avail of the beautiful decking out the back & sit under the night sky. No smoking indoors, however it is permitted outside where ashtrays are provided. I have a beautiful friendly cat which lives outdoors however he does insist on trying to get indoors. Your room is a large double en-suite & is extremely comfortable. It is possible for Check in time to be earlier with prior notice. A later check out may also be possible again with prior notice.
My neighbourhood is rather quiet. So you won't be disturbed. We are down a country lane so hidden away from the busyness of a nearby motorway.
  • Abigails house is down the end of a little lane, it is so peaceful and quiet with no traffic noise or town lights you are guaranteed a great nights sleep. The bed is super comfy with en-suite shower room. You also have the luxury of a wide screen tv available just off the kitchen if required. A superb Airbnb.

  • This is a great place to stop off if exploring Kilkenny city or surrounding areas. The accommodation is very private, it's remote & quiet and spotlessly clean. Beverly provides a lot of extra supplies that most houses would not. It is ideally suited to a couple or a family with 1-2 children

  • Wonderful place to stay! Very clean, cozy and spacious. Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • If you dont book Beverlys place you will regret it! The location is perfect. So quiet, with the most amazing views. It's about 20 mins from Kilkenny city and perfect to relax & recharge. Baxter & Winston are such friendly dogs too, which we loved as we are such big animal people! We loved the chickens too, and the lovely fresh eggs we got on arrival were delicious! Such lovely touches like milk in the fridge, bread, butter. Typical I had already went to the Aldi down the road & bought the shop! Beverlys place is so tranquil & the communication is brilliant. Thank you so much for a fantastic weekend, we will definitely be back!

  • Could not recommend this place any more. Even though we booked last minute, there was eggs, cookies, milk and even fresh fruit waiting for us on arrival. The cottage itself is absolutely gorgeous and you could not ask for a nicer host. Everything you need for an amazing weekend away. Cannot wait to get back!

  • This was a wonderful place to stay. We arrived in the dark and didn’t get to appreciate the location until morning but it was worth the wait. The breakfast items provided were most appreciated! The home is a perfect mix between old and new and four of us had plenty of room. Sandra’s local knowledge was a welcome addition to our travel. You cannot go wrong staying here.

    Kim2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a quiet restful few days and this cottage was perfect. Sandra was a kind hostess and delighted us with freshly baked bread and cookies. The cottage is very clean, with modern fixtures, and is warm and cozy (We were here in November.) It has a full bathroom in every bedroom with hot water all the time. We left it wanting to come back!

Very peaceful and private, yet adjacent to our house, so you won't feel lonely or abandoned! The studio is a self-contained bedsit in a beautiful rural Kilkenny location. If you're looking for a place to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of towns, then this is your place.
The Studio is beautifully decorated and spacious. This is a room with soul! Guests have access to the garden and entire farm if you feel intrepid enough to walk down by the stream and up through the trees and fields. We also have a new building which is a lovely place to do some morning yoga, drink your tea while looking at he view, or play some table-tennis! We enjoy meeting people and hearing about their travels, but we are very respectful of privacy. We will welcome you and then leave you to make yourself at home. We are open to chats if the opportunity presents itself. The studio is a self-contained bedsit in a beautiful rural Kilkenny location. If you're looking for a place to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of towns, then this is your place. Kilkenny is fairly close however, so if you need some more action you can always go there for entertainment and eateries. Kilkenny is 20 minutes drive away. If you are needing an evening meal, we recommend you either bring some provisions or go into Kilkenny. I will leave you some breakfast provisions. There is no near-by public transport. You need a car!

  • Our stay at Kate and James's place was great. They greeted us warmly with a walk to their farm and we were lucky to meet with their newborn calf and lamb. The house is cozy and stylish with thoughtful decorations. The little cat stayed with us most of the night and their dogs came to greet us in the morning. Will definitely come back for this lovely place.

    Stanley2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Kate and James’ Place was fantastic. It was a cozy place with plenty of character. We loved interacting with the two dogs and Whistle the cat. We also loved walking the property to see the cows, sheep and goats! There were plenty of great places in the area to visit and only 20 minutes away from Kilkenny. Thanks very much Kate and James - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Shanan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and James were both so wonderful! They communicated with us so well and it made our trip so much easier. Their stay was just enough outside of town to get an escape from the city, but close enough to make quick trips into the city. Very comfy bed and lots of choices for tea! We loved playing with the dogs and getting to meet all of the other animals. We wish we could have stayed so much longer and taken more time to explore their property. Kilkenny was a fun town and very exciting. Check out O'Sullivans for great pizza and great beer. The bartenders were hilarious. Definitely make this stay if thinking of visiting the area!

  • The studio is located in stunning scenery and if you are looking for a beautiful retreat I honestly can't find fault. There were some lovely touches on arrival such as bread, eggs, honey and tea and coffee making facilities. Kate was so helpful when I asked for local information but was in no way intrusive. The studio was beautiful and felt like home from home:) The best AirBnb I have stayed in by far:)

The Red House Caravan is set on our land at the foot of the beautiful Blackstairs Mountains in rural County Carlow. The retro look caravan has been redecorated and turned into a bright, cheerful and comfortable glamping spot. There is much to do in the area from boating to hiking to fine dining to cycling. You can walk in the Blackstairs Mountains and stroll on ancient tow paths alongside the River Barrow. We're also equidistant from the lovely towns of Kilkenny, Carlow and Enniscorthy.
The caravan has a rustic and lived in feel to it while at the same time being very comfortable. It has a comfy double bed and, in a pinch, we can turn the caravan's couch into single sized bunk beds - suitable for children but perhaps a bit small for adults. There's a deck at the front door of the caravan and we provide garden furniture so you can sit out and watch the sun set or rise. The caravan has curtains for all the windows so if you don't want to wake at first light you can have a bit of a lie in. There is also closet space so you can stow your gear to make the most of the living space in the caravan. A welcome pack of tea, ground coffee, bread, butter and homemade jam will be ready for your arrival. There is an electric kettle, a teapot and a cafetière provided. We'll supply you with fresh bottled water from our well. The caravan is nestled within a large mature garden and surrounded by fields and stunning country vistas. You might even wake up to a cow looking in the window from across the fence. You will be perfectly situated to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside. If you want a little urban action we live just 30 minutes or so from beautiful Kilkenny City, the market town of Carlow and historic Enniscorthy in Wexford. The lovely village of Borris - with a good supermarket, famous pubs and a very good restaurant is just 10 kilometres from the caravan. The bathroom, which is a short walk across the yard in the main house has a shower with good water pressure, a Belfast sink and a loo. It isn't fancy but it does the business. You can get good WiFi under the raised deck near the main house. There is also 3G and 4G signal.
South Carlow is a very beautiful, peaceful and largely unknown part of Ireland. That is part of its charm. We're not overburdened with travellers at peak season so you can enjoy the area in a leisurely fashion. Our local village, Rathanna, has a population of seven. Yes, I said seven. However, the surrounding countryside and farmland creates a larger community. And Rathanna is a close knit but welcoming community. My wife and I are "blow ins" (of 18 years duration) but we were warmly accepted into the community once we decided to abandon the city and raise our kids in the countryside. Our local, Osborne's, is a wee gem of a Victorian Irish pub and is well worth a visit. In Borris village, ten kilometres (6 miles) from Rathanna there is a good supermarket, some terrific traditional pubs, including Kavanagh's, Joyces' and O'Shea's, as well as a very good restaurant in the The Step House Hotel. Slightly further afield are villages like Bagenalstown with two large well stocked supermarkets, and Leighlinbridge which hosts the famous Lord Bagenal Inn and a remarkable collection of modern Irish art. You can visit Graiguenamanagh (I'll tell you how to pronounce it when you get here) with lovely walks along the Barrow and a visit to Duiske Abbey, a fully restored early Cistercian Church. Or go on to St. Mullins where you can rent a kayak or canoe and paddle down the river and then enjoy a terrific meal in Clashganny House Restaurant. You're also within striking distance of Kilkenny City with its many cultural attractions and quality eateries; Carlow Town which has the spectacular Visual art gallery as a centrepiece; New Ross with the lovely Ros Tapestries as well as the historic Irish Famine Ship and visitor centre. There is hiking in the Blackstairs Mountains and we can supply you with Ordinance Survey maps to help guide you through the terrain. And there is much more... This is a beautiful part of the world. We love living here and we are delighted to share it with you.
  • Beautiful location, lovely people, cosy space. Thank you!

  • such a gorgious and cosy little caravan that we had the pleasure of staying in for the night. Liam was fantastic at accomodating our (very) late arrival from Dublin and stayed up to greet us and show us in. It really is nestled in beautiful rural irish country side and had so many little touches that made us feel cosy and welcome. The hot water bottle in the bed was lovely as were the fairy lights and soda bread and jam for breakfast xx thankyou liam

  • We had a beautiful evening at Liam's caravan. It is very cozy and warm, with all the comfort and a lot of peace. In the morning after a great sleep we had a nice coffee with the handmade jam and bread that was delicious, after that we went to st Mullins and we absolutely loved it. Looking forward to comeback one day soon.

    Fer2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Liam's caravan was just what we were hoping for. The caravan was great, super cozy and Liam was very kind , greeting us with umbrellas to shelter from the rain. Despite the (not ideal) weather we really enjoyed our night at the caravan, the location is great-you feel completely connected to nature. We very much appreciated the bread and homemade jam as well, a nice touch that added up to the whole experience. We will definitely be back in spring, hopefully with a bit of sun 😅in any case, highly recommended!

There is also enough space to store the luggage of two persons. In the morgning Liam provided us with everything we needed for simple but good breakfast and with some valuable tips where to take a stop on our way to Cork.

During this difficult time with COVID19-19, the Townhouse is ideal should you have a requirement to self isolate. The townhouse which is over 1750 sq ft overlooks the canal and the Barrow River. There are two balconies, one with the river view the other the courtyard. The famous courthouse can be easily viewed. Designed by Bagenal, based on Versailles. Aldi is close by. The house is on three levels with the living level on the first floor and two doubles with a shared bathroom on the top floor.
The whole house is for you to enjoy and relax. If you enjoy cooking there is a modern galley style kitchen. There is a comprehensive Sky package, which includes a great sports package including Racing TV, wireless printing facilities are available. You are within walking distance of local supermarket and restaurants and the many pubs.
Aldi is adjacent to the property. The local churches are a few minutes walk. Just a stroll away are the Gander, Geese, Swans and Ducks. Many pubs are close by. The outdoor swimming pool is a short walk as is the Pitch and Putt Grounds.

Located right beside the River Barrow , with lovely walks right outside the door, for the experts and the amateurs..
History and name The town sprang up within the townland of Moneybeg, which comes from Irish Muine Bheag, meaning 'small thicket'.[3] In the 18th century there was a small hamlet there. Walter Bagenal decided to build a town on the site, named 'New Versailles' and modelled after Versailles in France.[4] However, shortly after the building began the coach route from Dublin was changed so that coaches now crossed the River Barrow at Leighlinbridge instead.[4] Bagenal abandoned his plans, having built only a courthouse.[4] It wasn't until the arrival of the railway in 1846 that the settlement began to grow into a town.[4] The town was referred to in English as 'Bagenalstown', but local Irish speakers continued to refer to it as Muine Bheag. Following the creation of the Irish Free State, Muine Bheag became the town's only official name. A number of other places were renamed likewise. The motto on the town's coat of arms is The Irrepressible Number and its Irish equivalent Uimhir Gan Choisc. Places of interest Near Muine Bheag is Ballyloughan Castle, which comprises a twin-towered gatehouse and the hall and foundations of one of the corner towers of a large castle dating from about 1300.[5] Ballymoon Castle is 3 km (2 mi) east of Muine Bheag, and is thought to date from the 13th century.[6] Activities The 1st Bagenalstown BP Scout Group was set up in 2009 and meets in the McGrath hall. Their activities include hiking, camping, kayaking and games. In 2011 the troop became the first in the history of the state to stay in an Army barracks.[7] Muine Bheag hosts a floral festival every August. Sport Muine Bheag/Erins Own is the local hurling club, and have won the Carlow Senior Hurling Championship 14 times; their last win was in 1970. The local Gaelic football club is named Saint Andrews, who won the Intermediate football championship in 2016. • I have nothing to complain about, I found myself well, the owner was nice, the apartment was spotlessly clean, even close to everything, I'll be back for sure.

This is a refurbished old coach house in a private setting in the middle of town. it has been very tastefully done with high ceilings and central heating, new bathroom and comfortable beds. There is an overall peaceful feeling and security here. It offers a large walled in garden and off street parking behind private gates and is very secure for young kids. In the Summer months the heated out door swimming pool is open in the Town and the park and children's playground are open all year round.
The Home is warm and comfortable and is right in the centre of town, allowing easy access to super markets and restaurants and bars.
The town is placed a short drive from Kilkenny City and Carlow town, which are the main centres for both culture and socialising. The town has the canal system running through it and the beautiful Barrow river, famous for fishing and boating. The walks and very close proximity to mountains, are a must for most outdoor fans. There is also a very quaint railway station that will take you to Dublin or Waterford.
  • When you pull up outside the property and see the large gates, its like stepping into your own private world as you open the gates. There you have a wonderful enclosed courtyard with plenty of room for parking and leaving plenty of space around you. The Coach house itself is lovely and as you enter through the porch the high ceilings open up into a beautiful living space. There are 3 good sized bedrooms and a well equipped bathroom/shower room. The star of the show is the walled back garden, as you open up a large wooden door and passthrough a little corridor to open up a second door that opens out into a magical space! A big space thats well secluded and I can only imagine how lovely this would be in the summer. Sadly COVID 19 cut my 2 month stay in Laurence's property short and I had to return home to the UK pretty quickly. Laurence was very understanding and sadly I never met him as he was out of the country at the time. I will truly say I was gutted to leave as the house is in such a lovely setting with the canal/river in Muine Bheag running right beside the property and the surrounding countryside was stunning on my drive to and from work. If you get a chance pay this property a visit, you wont be disappointed.

  • Laurence is a brilliant host and the Coach house is lovely accommodation. Sparkling clean, very comfortable, really convenient (for a wedding in the Lord Bagenal Inn). I would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

  • Everything perfect. Laurence is a great host.

  • It’s is an mazing house with lots of character! We always enjoys staying here :) Peaceful and plenty lovely walks around. Kilkenny City is only 20-minute drive away as well. Thank you!

    Virge2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Laurence's coach house was perfect for a few days in the Kilkenny area with kids. The garden is straight out of childhood fantasy and the courtyard directly outside is fully enclosed. One big space downstairs and three very generously sized bedrooms upstairs with the all important bath for youngsters. My eldest particularly loved Laurences' land and seascapes. When you don't want to venture far, Bagenalstown is a nice little place with a great playground, a SuperValu, and Aldi, and even a train station. Plus, the Kiddies' Kingdom soft play/activity centre is huge and an utter godsend on a rainy day. Laurences' communications were immediate before arrival and he is a very generous host. A great guy. Sad to only stay a couple of days, but we'd heartily recommend his place.

  • It is a wonderful coach house full of character and originality like its host.Tip ; Laurence is a renowned artist and his paintings adorn the walls.it is worth the trip to see that alone.

    Shane2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
