Lots of positive things to say but essentially we enjoyed our week so much that I have recommended Harry's place to some of our friends. If you're looking for a good value cosy caravan stay in a sheltered suntrap garden close to the sea this is the one. Good for dog walking, cycling & exploring the south west of Scotland. Harry and Julie are great hosts. We'll be back.

Diane was very welcoming. Almost anything that you could need whilst travelling she had thought of and was in the room. The room and ensuite were very clean. Breakfast was great. Top marks!

Going out of their way to make use feel welcome

My mum and I stayed at Diane's B&B for two nights and we wish we stayed longer! The view from our bedroom was beautiful, the room was amazing/looked just like the photo's and the breakfast was fab! The host's have added little touches to make you feel so welcome in their home. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is going to the area. Thanks again Diane & John !

Our stay was fantastic. If you are looking for peace and relaxation and a place to explore this is the place. Plenty of areas to walk in safety and the view of the lighthouse / peninsula was perfect. The lighthouse is also only a 10 min drive and was well worth the time. The host property was very clean and accommodating and the breakfast was great. I would definitely recommend and will stay there again if we are ever in the area.

Everything phantastic!

Diane and John were great. Their home was like home away from home. It was clean and neat, and the views from the windows in the morning were beautiful. The en-suite room had everything you could possibly ask for and more, and the bathroom was an added bonus with towel warmers. The breakfast was more than I could have asked for, and definitely kept me filled up for the greater part of the day. I wish I had more time to explore the area, but would definitely book here again if I ever come back.

The stay at the coastal Bed&Breakfast was very nice! Diane gave us a warm welcome and immediately gave us advice were we could eat, when she discoverd whe didn't have diner yet. The room was very complete, we could make our own tea or coffee and she even left some sweets. The view out of the window was beautiful! The breakfast was excellent, it kept us going for a big part of the day!

Quiet and relaxing and a perfect spot to explore the Mull of Galloway. Although the provisions were basic we had everything we needed, the shower is great and beds warm and comfortable. The view is beautiful and we couldn't have asked for more. Our 3 year old didn't want to leave our new house.

We had an amazing stay in Portpatrick at Ian's cabin. It was cosy and had the most spectacular views of the beach and Ireland. Ian was very flexible with check-in and check-out, and was kind enough to give us a lift down to town on our first night there and arrange a taxi to bring us back. Portpatrick itself was a stunning and friendly town. A car is definitely necessary as the cabin is a bit out of the way. Thank you Ian for a wonderful stay.

Glenda and Adrian are a lovely easy going couple with a nice modern home, they are very amicable and welcoming. The bedroom and ensuite were pristine clean and the single beds were very comfy and cosy. Breakfast was continental with a very good selection to choose from. The walk to the harbour is steep but it only takes 5 minutes to be precise. Would totally recommend!

it was an amazing accommodation, among the best we stayed at. beautiful environment, friendly reception and wonderful breakfast! And Glenda and Adrian were helpful and very pleasant. if we return to Portpatrick, we should obviously of Glenda and Adrian!

Glenda was extremely helpful in describing the local services and directions to the accommodation. Throughout the stay of 4 days we were attended to no matter the time of day. Providing information on local walks, interesting tours and local history were of immense help in making the stay memorable. The house is airy and bright, positioned above the town, but only 5 minutes walk away from the harbour. The bedroom & shower plus "The Snug" are ample and in good condition, Glenda's artwork and Adrian's photographs giving it a fresh & colourful touch. A relaxing place to stay but plenty of interesting sites in the close locality to keep one busy.

Right from the start we were made so welcome and shown our bedroom plus lounge at front of the house where we could watch tv or dvds and where breakfast is served. I was soon really happy relaxing in the bedroom poring over a selection of fascinating books I spied on the shelves there. And the continental style breakfast was attuned to our needs daily by a list. I warned my wife she wont get service like that at home! Quite exceptional! The walk down into the village via a shortcut is very convenient and Portpatrick is a gem. The only mistake we made was not to have had longer. We shall return next year.

Nice accommodation

Excellent location near to many restaurants, the Baker and local shop. Parking on street was easy and we managed to be right next to the house the whole time. Plenty of room and had everything you could need. Garden was lovely.

Lovely cottage right at the front of Portpatrick. Great secure back garden and handy short walk to pubs and restaurants. Dog friendly and relaxing holiday!

We had a terrific stay at Galloway Cottage. It's perfectly situated in Portpatrick, overlooking the harbour. Portpatrick is lovely - the perfect, quiet, seaside retreat with lots of walks and other outdoor things to do. The cottage is light, freshly decorated and comfortable - one king-sized double room (overlooking the harbour) and a twin room upstairs, with a bunk bed downstairs - lower bunk is a double and the upper bunk is a single. There is a shower room with WC downstairs and a bathroom with WC and over bath shower upstairs. The Living room is comfortable and fairly spacious (facing onto the harbour) with couches and a recliner chair as well as a dining table. The kitchen is really well equipped and has everything you would need for self-catering, although there are a pubs that do food within very easy walking distance - Campbell's Restaurant is particularly nice, with good service and great food - also situated on the harbour and near to the lighthouse. There are also a couple of cafes and small shops very nearby. The biggest surprise was the lovely walled garden at the back of the property, which has chairs and tables for sitting or eating outside. We were lucky enough to have glorious weather while we were there and the garden is a real sun-trap in the afternoon and early evening. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely return. Simon and Ilona, who dealt with our booking, were very helpful and easy to deal with.

I really enjoyed my stay here! I was very comfortable - the room was lovely and warm, there were tea biscuits in the room for me to tuck into, and everything was very clean and welcoming. I was only here for one night to catch the ferry from Cairnryan, but it was the perfect stopover. Thank you Donald and Janet :)

It was a perfect moment with Janet and Donald. This place is so calm and inviting. Donald and Janet were so nice with me, they came to the bus stations to get me and they did all they can to make my time there amazing. I wish I could have stayed longer. Everything I needed was there, I had a very good night sleep, it was calm and quiet. The food Janet cooked was so good. She brings me to town in the morning and we had a great moment together. I recommand to everyone to go to this wonderful B&B !!!!

Perfect hosts! I arrived fairly late having crossed from Ireland with my motorcycle, I had mug of tea in my hand within seconds. Slept well in a spotlessly clean and comfortable room and was presented with an excellent cooked breakfast early in the morning. In the morning I observed Donald wiping the rain off my bike, never had service like that before! A lovely couple.

We arrived very last off the ferry from Ireland. Donald was very helpful in guiding us to the house and there was a lovely welcome from Janet. Lovely accommodation....furnished with love. Loved the house. Janet cooked us a delicious breakfast. If we are in these parts again will hope to stay at Briarbank.

An adorable little shepherds hut in the Glenwhan gardens. A perfect getaway for tiny house lovers or anyone looking for a peaceful idyllic retreat. Situated right in the gardens I felt like they were my own and Tessa is close by for any help one might need. I most enjoyed sitting on the front steps, enjoying the last rays of sunshine as I looked out over the bay. I hope to be back soon. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying this is a superb location, a wonderful, relaxing and luxurious shepherd's hut and charming, attentive host. There's virtually nothing to stop you having a completely peaceful time here (although it does have great 4G and phone signal so you'll have to turn that off yourself.) The gardens are spectacular and you can enjoy them all day and evening, roaming through the trees and flowers, enjoying the tranquility out of hours as I did. Unlike many huts this is fully self-contained - hot shower, toilet and super-comfortable full sized bed (I am 6'4" and it was long enough for me) and loads of touches to make your stay a real home-from-home like the log burner and kitchen. The view and outside space are wonderful and the tearooms on-site mean that you can get a late breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea if the relaxation becomes too much and you need sustenance. We're already looking at dates for the future. It's a really great place to stay and one I'm almost loathed to recommend for fear I may not be able to book myself in future.

Glenwhan Shepherd's hut is a cosy and comfortable wee place perfect for couples and nature lovers. The gardens surrounding the hut are an absolute joy. The highlight for us was coming back from a day of fishing and birdwatching on the wild Galloway coast, and putting the wood burner on whilst listening to the birds singing into the evening. Utter bliss...

Tessa was there to meet us and was extremely helpful. The accommodation itself was fantastic, cosy and charming and was situated in a fantastic spot. The gardens were beautiful and there was a bounty of birds. We would highly recommend Tessa's shepherds hut to anyone.

Tessa's vintage caravan at Glenwhan gardens is a beautifully put together retreat, overlooking the gorgeous gardens and the Luce bay. The caravan is fitted out with everything you could hope for including a wood burning stove and secluded breakfast area. Highly recommended

The hut is so relaxing and has all that you really need there is a hob and a microwave aswell as a little fridge. Shower was good and bed is comfy. The views out the hut are lovely and you can go explore around the gardens also. The tearoom does a nice bacon roll and coffee and all is dog friendly. Host is very helpful also with hints for the local area.

Anne was out on our arrival but did message me to say the key would be in the door, fortunately, Peter was there to greet us and show us the cottage. We met Anne later and was welcomed warmly. The cottage ( stable) is lovely, quaint, clean and comfortable. We had an unexpected extra night, which was not a problem for Anne at all. We found milk, cookies and tea/ coffee on arrival. A good size kitchen/lounge/ table area. The kitchen is well equipped with every thing you will need and more. We never locked the door the whole time we were there. The town is a few miles down the road if needs be for a quick trip to Liddell, Tesco or Morrison's. All in all, we had a lovely stay with lovely welcoming hosts who seemed more than happy to have us. My family and I can't wait for the new cottages to be completed so we can visit again and lounge in the new hot tub and pet the sheep !!

We found the place really easily, this was just what we were looking for. We were welcomed on arrival and shown round. A place to stay while we visited family nearby with plenty of room for our sons to enjoy. Very clean and tidy and the welcome pack was very handy. After a long drive from Aberdeen a cup of tea was great! Thank you so much to Anne & Peter.

Anne gave us excellent direction in getting to The Stables, so despite arriving at nightfall, there was no problem finding the location. The home and its surroundings are very clean and well kept. A particularly thoughtful addition was that there was milk in the fridge and biscuits and bagels (and some other things) already in the home. We felt very comfortable throughout our two days and won't need to look further when we're next in the area - provided The Stables aren't booked out, of course! :-)

Sited atop a high hill above Stranraer, you will have beautiful views of the town, harbor and great green and gold pastures. I highly recommend a walk up the road next to the cabins where a unique panorama is available. As this is self-catered, you will need to bring salt and pepper, catsup, mustard, salad dressing etc. There is some tea. Also there was milk in the refrigerator and some delightful cookies. Since I always travel with a bag of oatmeal and dried fruit, I was fine with milk and tea. Peter was a considerate and well-informed guide. He contributed substantially to my research for the 16th century novel I am writing. Port Patrick was a real find, but I would have had difficulty reaching it on my own.

It was quiet and comfortable and yet very easily positioned to get everywhere we wanted to go to. Everything we needed. A lovely host, recommended by me and I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be back. Thank you.

Hosts were welcoming when we arrived and on hand if needed but not intrusive. The cottage is clean, well equipped and not far from shops and other amenities but yet far enough removed to be peaceful. The flowers, biscuits and milk are a pleasant touch. Would not hesitate to return and look forward to seeing their latest project finished-we'll book the hot tub! Thanks Anne!
