We renovated a two-story storehouse built in the Edo period and made it into a guest house. Although it is not spacious, a kitchen with an IH cooking heater is installed on the first floor, while maintaining the atmosphere of a storehouse with its earthen walls and thick beams. The first and second floors are equipped with air conditioning for a comfortable stay. You can experience the sound insulation, summer coolness, and winter warmth unique to a storehouse. If you like, you can enjoy coffee made with freshly ground beans. Sister-gawa Onsen and Ibuki Yakuza-Yu are about 15 minutes away by car. We can provide you with a ticket for Sankawa Onsen (cheaper than the regular price). Please contact us about pick-up and drop-off. There are many tourist spots unique to Nagahama, which has often been the stage of history. Hikone Castle, a National Treasure, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Nagahama Castle, the birthplace of Ishida Mitsunari, one of Japan's leading mountain castles, Otaki, the site of the battle, and others. It is also less than 20 minutes by car to the Sekigahara Battlefield. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

We have a Canadian house, just a stone through away from the beautiful Lake Biwa. Suitable place to stay for family trip, with friends and work trip.
