“Lovely cottage which is dog friendly and very cozy. There was milk in the fridge on arrival and a doggie pack with towels and bowls etc. The log burner is a nice feature and the location is good for exploring the local area. There are no shops in the village but if you drive a mile or so up the road to Tow Law you can stock up on the essentials. We didn’t meet the hosts but communication with John was very good.”
Private double room within our 3 bedroom home only 2.5 miles outside of the beautiful Durham city. Our home is bright, airy, clean and spacious and we offer a warm welcome to all. We are a young, professional, non smoking couple.
“This is a great place to stay. Gemma is a great host, very welcoming and with a great deal of local knowledge. So if you want to get know where to go and what to see or eat in the Durham area, then you get insider advice which is invaluable. Gemma's place is super clean and tidy and finished to the very best standard and it's in a quiet part of town so you are guaranteed a great night's sleep. Can thoroughly recommend this!”

Stunning scenery from the garden, in an area of outstanding natural beauty with excellent walks from the doorstep. 10minute stroll to local country pubs. A large kitchen and living area with an open fire, plus central heating. 10minute drive to Kyren & Hamsterley Forest. Good base to explore Weardale, Teesdale&Durham.
“Great location on a farm near Crook in County Durham. Absolutely quiet and very dark at night. On my two nights, the starry sky was stunning. The house is among a group of others on a working farm. It's also off the main road, so very peaceful. I found it a great place to escape from London for couple of days and to explore the surrounding countryside. Check in was easy, WiFi was fast and reliable. Parking adjacent to the house was safe and secure. Nice to have an oven and hobs to cook, a decent large fridge freezer and microwave - perfect for making your own meals. Lots of local info in leaflets in the house too.”
