Monthly Rentals in Troutbeck

This is one of the best Airbnbs that I've ever stayed at! The location is the most idyllic, peaceful, and bucolic location, but it's only a short walk to two pubs and a cute cafe. There are several hikes that you can walk to from the house, and it's a short drive from everything else there is to explore in the Lake District. The house itself is beautiful, with a fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable living room, lots of room to relax and sit outdoors, and a great primary bedroom/bathroom. The bed was so comfortable after a long day of hiking and walking around, and the shower had excellent water pressure. Having the washer/dryer was a huge help, and they were easy to use. When you have a clear night, there's excellent stargazing from the backyard. We didn't want to leave! I'd highly recommend this for a visit in the Lake District - we vastly preferred this Airbnb over staying in a larger town.

We absolutely loved our stay in Troutbeck. We were pleasantly surprised to arrive and see the pods were on a working farm with cows, sheep’s and lambs all nearby to see. There was a great welcome set in the pod which was a great touch. The pods were perfect for my partner and I who used the space as a base for our walks etc. The water pressure on the shower wasn’t great but it did the job. The pods do sleep 4, but we would suggest they’re only really big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. The location was honestly perfect, 15 mins from Ambleside & Windemere and the view from the valley was spectacular. We will 100% be back when we next visit the Lakes and would recommend the pods to anyone.

Richard’s lodge is lovely & in a very nice holiday park with glorious views. We were very lucky with the weather & we enjoyed using the outside seating area on the patio & watching & listening to the abundant birdlife, & catching glimpses of the birds using Richard’s little birdhouse! The lodge is comfortable, clean, spacious, decorated & furnished to a high spec, & is well equipped. We found Troutbeck to be a good base for exploring the surrounding areas, & we enjoyed travelling on the steam railway, & taking the ferry across to Bowness. There are a number of NT properties to visit in the area, our favourites were Beatrix Potter’s home, Sizergh & Townend, & we used the open-top buses to explore the area (free using our ‘oldies’ travel passes!👍🏻). We had some lovely meals, & a yummy breakfast, at the Queen’s Head just down the road. They had some good beer there too! Richard is a very pleasant & responsive host, and we would highly recommend his lovely lodge. Thanks Richard!

A beautiful location. The garden was incredible…well tended and full of colour. The perfect place to end the day’s walking with a cup of tea or glass of something chilled! Fantastic walks from the door! The bed was very comfortable. The sun room was a lovely space to continue staring at the wonderful views well into the evening. Jeanette was the perfect host. Very friendly and helpful.
