Explore Ancient West Cornwall From a Charming Apartment

Awaken in a bright, cheerful space with views of a quaint village from first floor windows. A cottage-like feel is created by painted wood panelling and traditional furnishings designed for comfort. Have breakfast at table nestled under a skylight. Situated in a peaceful Cornish village, Little Anvil occupies a central position (both the north and south coast are within easy reach) ideal for exploring beautiful West Cornwall. A newly converted first-floor apartment which forms part of the owners 18th century cottage, one of the oldest in the village. With its own private entrance, the apartment is full of character, with luxurious touches and modern appliances - a welcoming and comfortable place to return to after your day out. In addition to this we are next door to the village pub, where you can relax with a drink in the beer garden, have a meal or chat with locals. The pub also has a small shop for essential supplies. The open plan living/kitchen area is well equipped with a large flat screen, Smart TV for relaxing in the evening, plus a Bluetooth speaker for your music and free wi-fi. If you like to cook the kitchen/dining area facilities include an induction hob, full size oven, large fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is also a washer-dryer should you need it, and heating for the colder months. The bedroom is decorated in a relaxing French style with a king-size bed, luxurious linen, and an en-suite shower room. If you are bringing your dog with you there is an enclosed outdoor courtyard area for convenience, which also has a covered storage area for bicycles/kayak. The nearest town is the historic market town of Helston (4 miles), famous for its Spring celebration - Flora Day. The thriving and pretty coastal town of Falmouth is a short drive (for visitors to the University campus, it is only a 10min drive) and the beautiful port of Porthleven with its many fine restaurants is also within a 15-20minute drive. Nearby is the stunning coastline of The Lizard Peninsula, or you could travel towards the evocative and mysterious landscape of West Penwith, stopping to visit St Michaels Mount on your way to unforgettable St Ives and beyond. West Cornwall has so many stunning places to visit, that we hope you will want to return time and again. Sole and private access to all areas of apartment with own private entrance and key for coming and going! The apartment also has an enclosed courtyard area with storage for bikes if required. The apartment is in the village of Porkellis, close to art and culture, restaurants, a beach, and family-friendly activities. West Cornwall is known for its heathland, golden sand, artists' colonies, ancient stone circles, and Iron Age villages. We are in a rural location, so a car is highly recommended. However there is a bus stop just outside the apartment, but village buses are mysterious infrequent animals. The nearest town is Helston, approx 4 miles, and the nearest train station, Redruth is 8 miles. The A30, which is the main road connecting Cornwall with the rest of the UK is approx 10 miles. Nearest ferry port is Plymouth (50 miles) and the nearest Airport is Newquay (31 miles). The nearest international airport is Bristol (166 miles) The apartment has its own entrance and courtyard and is adjacent to the main house which is occupied by the owners.

On your doorstep are an array of cafes, restaurants, pubs and boutiques. Provided, at no charge to guests, is a single parking permit for Mevagissey Harbour car park located a level walk of less than 2 minutes from your apartment. One of the most prominent and historic listed buildings in Mevagissey, Quayside has had a fascinating and diverse past. Over the course of its more than two centuries nestled between the centre of the village and the harbour it has served as a pilchard press, net loft, doctor's surgery and even as the premises of the local undertaker! Following extensive recent renovation it has been transformed into chic, comfortable and spacious apartments that showcase the character of the building. QUAY LOFT has a superking bed topped off with high quality linen guaranteeing a luxurious night's sleep. The apartment possesses full kitchen facilities including Nespresso coffee machine, free WiFi, TVs in living room and bedroom and an Amazon Echo device. The generously proportioned wet room contains rainshower and handheld and heated towel rail, whilst fluffy white towels are provided. Fully centrally heated. Extra storage area on ground floor available for bikes and prams. Board-games and playing-cards are available for the use of our guests. We generally stay in the same building and, when there, are available to assist you or try to answer any questions you may have during your stay. Quay Loft is in Mevagissey, nestled between the historic centre of the village and the bustling harbour. From your luxurious private retreat you're in the middle of the action amongst the maze of narrow cobbled streets, quaint cottages, shops, pubs, and restaurants. You're also just steps away from one of Cornwall's most beautiful working harbours where you can stroll the quay, grab a bite to eat or indulge in a coffee and cake. Getting around is particularly easy out-of-season when smaller crowds and quieter roads make trips a breeze, and journeys to places as pretty as Penzance, Padstow, Perranporth and Polperro are perfectly possible in just a day! Popular destinations like Fowey (30 minutes), Newquay (45 minutes), Falmouth (50 minutes) and Truro (35 minutes) are always worth a visit, whilst St Austell (15 minutes) has a wide selection of supermarkets (Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl) as well as the nearest mainline train station. Spacious, self contained, one bedroom apartment. Bright and modern basement flat to an attractive Edwardian townhouse situated just minutes walk from the train station, the beach and the town itself. Driveway parking and private entrance. Fully equipped kitchen including Nespresso machine, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and all the utensils and crockery you’ll need. Please note, access to the property is down a set of steps and may not be suitable for infirm guests.

The Nook Cosy flat to sea, town and amenities

The Nook is situated on one of the main roads into Newquay. It is to the side of our home, has its own entrance with key safe and is completely self contained which makes it ideal for social distancing. There is private off road parking just outside in front of the flat. It's approx a 20 minute level walk into Newquay town or alternatively there is a bus stop at the bottom of our drive. The closest beach, Porth Beach, is a 5 minute walk away with all the other Newquay Beaches nearby.

Perched above The Moor with fabulous views across the Fal estuary and Carrick Roads to St Mawes, this is a delightful spot from which to explore all that Falmouth has to offer. Just a short (steep!) walk to the quirky High Street and The Moor with their great pubs and restaurants, and a 25 minute walk to Gyllyngvase Beach (or a 5 minute drive). The flat occupies the top 2 floors of a 19th century terraced house. And it has its own parking space.
