The Gardeners Cottage is set within the walled gardens of Corvisel House, built by Rear Admiral John McKerlie in 1829. We have restored the cottage in a vintage, quirky style with Donegal & Harris tweed soft furnishings & floral accents to reflect the glorious garden outside! It's located at the edge of Newton Stewart so very handy for evening strolls to the eateries in town. You can take walks in our small forest from the courtyard & hang out in the walled garden - green fingers are welcomed!!
“Fantastic cottage, great location facing the entrance to Hills and Harbour gin distillery. Easy walking distance to the town. The hosts communication was excellent throughout and you will find the cottage spotless and some really nice touches throughout. Best recommendation is we hope to stay again.”
This superb en-suite bed sitting room is separate, open to the garden and feels very comfortable. It has amenities for you to be self catering during your stay. I provide teas, coffee etc and breakfast items of your choice. There is not a separate kitchen but washing up facilities are available. Stranraer hosts great events on this beautiful Scottish coast and near the Cairnryan/Ireland ferry. The space suits those looking for longer term lodging eg. someone working /studying here.
“Isobel's place is very comfortable, a little self catering flat. Very reasonable. I booked for a friend and she thought it was the best. Milk and juice, tea and coffee etc all provided and easy to walk to from the town. My friend was absolutley impressed and said Isobel was a very friendly and helpful host. She would recommend 100%. Thank you Isobel.”
A large comfortable en-suite room in a beautiful Edwardian Scottish cottage. On the edge of the village of Barrhill, midway between Newton Stewart and Girvan. 11 miles to the seaside town of Girvan, where you can find delicious fish and chips. Oscar the cat and now two kittens called William and Archer share the house with us, they are not allowed in the bedrooms. We also have two very friendly Icelandic ponies, Noah and Molly, who you are welcome to visit.
“Susan was a very kind host, and went above and beyond what we would expect from any host - offering to come help us when in difficulty on our cycling tour. The room was spacious and clean, perfect for our needs. And the breakfast was top notch. She was very communicative throughout - an all-round a great host. Highly recommended ! Thanks again.”
