We are 3 miles from the historic village of Corbridge with its great shops, pubs and restaurants, one and a half miles from Hadrian's Wall, 20 minutes from airport and 25 minutes from Newcastle. This is a newly refurbished old stable which is a cosy hideaway in the Tyne Valley. Extensive walks are available on this working farm. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and dogs (sorry, no cats). Sadly owing to recent experiences we now need to charge £5 per dog per night.
“What a wonderful stay! We loved how close it was to everything, but just far enough off the main road to feel separated from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The dogs were quick to settle in and cozy up to the fire, with plenty of wood to keep the log burner going all night . The wifi is exceptionally fast. The cottage is so spacious and nicely decorated, it is easy to instantly feel at home. There are a pair of hot water bottles to warm up the bed, and fluffy bath sheets to hang on the bathroom warmer. Because it's a working farm, we were able to enjoy looking at the wide vistas, new lambs, and horses. It was especially convenient to have access to a field to play ball with the dogs. Thanks, Ailsa! Hope we can get back soon! Kim”
Riding Hills Farm is a cosy, attractive and well equipped one bedroomed cottage situated in one of the prettiest and most interesting parts of Northumberland. Within two miles of the historic town of Corbridge, this comfortable cottage is tucked away in a rural location with stunning views over the Tyne Valley. Despite its rural setting it is close to some excellent pubs and restaurants, and the market town of Hexham.
“Spacious cottage with great views. Although you can walk into Corbridge, it takes about 30 minutes and there are lengths of the main road that have no pavements, so you need to be wary of traffic. There is a reliable half-hourly bus service into Corbridge and Hexham going west, and into Newcastle going east. Both bus stops are a 5-minute walk from the cottage, on the main road.”
The Rose Suite has a private entrance to a double bedroom, en-suite and small kitchenette (See pics). We are situated in a quiet village in beautiful Northumberland within easy reach of the historic Hadrians Wall, Close House Golf Club, Newcastle city centre, MetroCentre & various wedding venues. Horsley has a great gastro pub, art gallery & lovely cafe. Other places to visit include the Northumberland coast eg. Bamburgh & Holy Island. Great location for Golfers, walkers and peace & quiet!
“A gorgeous little gem of accommodation. Easy to find and the little touches such as juice, jam, shampoo etc made it perfect. The candles dotted around the room and the wonderful fresh smell added to a very relaxing stay. Lorraine was very understanding when our arrival time didn't go as planned! Cant recommend highly enough.”
