The Gardeners Cottage is set within the walled gardens of Corvisel House, built by Rear Admiral John McKerlie in 1829. We have restored the cottage in a vintage, quirky style with Donegal & Harris tweed soft furnishings & floral accents to reflect the glorious garden outside! It's located at the edge of Newton Stewart so very handy for evening strolls to the eateries in town. You can take walks in our small forest from the courtyard & hang out in the walled garden - green fingers are welcomed!!
“Fantastic cottage, great location facing the entrance to Hills and Harbour gin distillery. Easy walking distance to the town. The hosts communication was excellent throughout and you will find the cottage spotless and some really nice touches throughout. Best recommendation is we hope to stay again.”
Ivy Bank Studio is an attached studio room of Ivy Cottage which itself was built in 1795 from local stone. It is situated on a private no through road, located directly in front of the Gem Rock museum and cafe. The location of the studio room in Creetown offers excellent outdoor views across to Cairnsmore Hill and also across to Wigtown Bay. Creetown itself is a welcoming tourist village ideal for those wishing to explore Dumfries & Galloway.
“This was a cosy and warm hidden away space with a fantastic view of the surrounding village and area. Everything we needed was there. Bed was super comfortable and shower airy and spacious-with all the toiletries you could wish for. Had a black folder with great local walks clearly set out with pictures. We went on 2 of them and followed them to the letter. They were very beneficial. Warm and welcoming host.”
