Traditional Irish cottage in a picturesque rural setting. My property is located in the heart of Seamus Heaney country near Bellaghy and approximately 40 minutes from Belfast International airport. Game of thrones film locations, North coast and Giants Causeway are easily accessible. Newferry, world famous for coarse fishing. Local activities include fishing, canoeing, hill walking, golf and bird watching. Crosskeys Inn, Ireland's oldest thatched pub and traditional music venue is nearby
“Staying at Con & Colm’s House was one of the top highlights of my time in Ireland. My friend and I were there for only one night and we so badly wanted to stay longer! We stayed up all night visiting with Colm and hearing his stories. He gave us loads of tips on what and how to do things in Northern Ireland. The beds were very comfy and both my friend and I enjoyed a good soak in the claw foot tub in the bathroom. Con made us a reservation for dinner at a local restaurant that we absolutely loved. We were so tired and hungry from travel all day and he took care of that piece for us, it was so helpful and we felt very taken care of! They were very accommodating and gave us loads of yummy bread, amazing cheese, great whiskey, and farm fresh eggs for breakfast. We really hope to return some day and spend more time here.”
Hi I look forward to inviting you to my home. It is a cosy bungalow in the country approx. 2 miles from Magherafelt with terrific views of the Sperrin Mountains. Come and relax and unwind on the veranda and enjoy spectacular sunsets, or just sit in my cosy living room and watch a good movie on Netflix. I have 2 rooms with a double bed in each. Just to confirm, I live in the house so you would be sharing the house with me, with your own private room and use of guest bathroom.
“Heather was an excellent host. The property was very clean and comfortable and Heather made sure that my stay was as welcoming as possible. Would definitely recommend to anyone.”
An idyllic cottage loaded with character and furnished to the highest standard. It is situated in a magnificent one acre garden which borders the Moyola River, and the garden gazebo provides a wonderful place to relax overlooking the river.
“We stayed with Robin as a base to explore Northern Ireland. Castledawson is the perfect place to do this. Even before we got there Robin was the perfect host. He even called and made us a dinner reservation before we got there. So thoughtful - and the restaurant was great! The gardens are amazing just like all the other reviews say. The house is charming and we sat by the fire each night after our trips around the area. Robin was a fountain of information and helped us plan our excursions each day. He came and sat by the fire with us one night and shared stories about the history of the area which really enhanced our experience. His wife Julie was so genuine in her caring about us having a good stay. (Thank you Julie!) And to top it all off, the bed and pillows were the best we had on a 6 week trip. We are forever grateful to them and the cottage for this magical time of our trip.”
