Staying here was like stepping into a peaceful, magical retreat. The cozy wood-burning fire made the space feel so welcoming and serene, and the private sauna was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Waking up to views of rolling fields filled with sheep and the surrounding mountains was pure bliss. Every detail of the stay felt thoughtful and relaxing—it truly felt like a little sanctuary away from the world. I left feeling refreshed, grounded, and already dreaming of coming back. We were down for a family celebration at the Slieve Russell and stayed at Francis' house. The house is really lovely. it is extremely clean and well kept and very comfortable. They have thought of everything. I would definitely stay again.

The house is a beautifully kept home from home. It had everything needed and plenty of space for families. It’s only a short drive to Castleblayney. Bernard is very responsive from booking to check out and he made the visit very stress free with providing exact information needed. A lovely welcome pack was also provided on arrival. Excellent accomodation all round.

We had a great time at the cottage! The house is super comfortable, cozy, and perfectly located for a relaxing getaway close to nature, with Glendalough and Wicklow just a short drive away. Marie and Sinead were excellent hosts—they welcomed us with the fireplace already lit and the house warm and inviting. They were always kind and ready to help with anything we needed. We truly felt at home and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in the area.

We spent a lovely easter weekend in Mai's peaceful and quiet cottage. It had everything we needed, very comfortable beds and nice linen, plenty of hot water, and good wifi. We were delighted with the field of cows beside us! It's in a great location for walking Slieve Bloom. Mai was a great host. We would have loved to stay for longer, and hope to go back again soon.

I mentioned in my booking that I was there was a family funeral and the first thing I saw was a sympathy card and some flowers. So so kind and thoughtful. And the day before we were leaving Shelagh sent me a message saying I could check out anytime I like as there was no one immediately booked after me. I was there for very sad reasons and Shillelaghs kindness was so appreciated by myself and family members. Thank you Shelagh
