An exceptional rustic retreat in the heart of Glendalough, ‘An Cillín’ takes its aesthetic cue from its stunning natural surroundings and echoes the ancient welcoming atmosphere of the historic monastic city which it overlooks. This is a truly unique studio cottage, with bog oak and yew timber features, an antique limestone sink and leaded glass church windows. Cosey up next to an authentic wood burning stove and enjoy our ‘monsoon’ rain shower or watch the stars from your own private garden
“This is such a magical find! We enjoyed a couple of days surrounded by beautiful countryside in this cosy little place. The room was lovely and toasty, with wonderful traditional decor. Spotlessly clean, a fabulous shower and oh my goodness the view of the sky on a clear night is breath-taking!! The perfect base to explore the area or to just get away from it all for a while. Cillian was a perfect host - thank you!”

“I'll Just reiterate all the positive reviews posted already. This place is fantastic! I've stayed in few places that id say 'id give a flawless review', but this is one. The attention to detail is second to none. Their clever 'self built' design, as I found out when chatting to Jennifer and Mark, utilizes the space brilliantly. It really is way bigger than it looks and is finished to an extremely high standard. Bed is very comfortable and the space becomes very cozy very fast. The generosity of the welcome basket shows guests Jennifer really want you 'to make yourself at home' as she says herself. The WC and shower is just a short distance away and is great, as the water was so hot and instant, plus I had all the beautiful hens to follow me along. An all to brief night was had. I would recommend you book this lovely piece of tranquility.”

“The place is gorgeous with lovely surroundings full of animals, flowers and even a pond. The cabin has a small kitchen with everything you might need to cook, a lovely fireplace and a bedroom with views to the pond. Killian and Jurgita are 2 of the nicest hosts you could ever find. We got there by train from Dublin to Rathdrum and with Mick Dunbar's taxi from Rathdrum to the cabin. The fireplace was on when we got there and we were greeted with sweets and local produce from their own farm. In these strange times, when all news seem like bad news, a peaceful retreat like this cabin is a safe haven where you can relax to the sounds of nature and the warmth of a cosy fire.”
