Very quiet place you can hear the birds singing. My dog may break the silence by barking from time to time.
“Anne's place was wonderful. It is nestled in the Irish country and it was nice to escape away from civilization for a bit. The room is nice due to being separated from the house. She had milk and poridge for us. She was very friendly and helpful and we truly enjoyed our stay!”
Kestrel Cottage and Curlew Cottage are situated on a beautiful one acre field, with, glimpses of the mountains towards Killarney and on the doorstep of West Cork, close to the tiny village of Tarelton. The city of Cork is an easy commute away. Both cottages have been our family home for many years. Each independent of the other, cozy in the winter and sunny and spectacular in the summer. The family live in Curlew Cottage and we would like to welcome guests to Kestrel Cottage.
“We couldn't have been "stuck" at a more fantastic place during the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. The cottage is quiet and cosy and it has all the amenities needed for a long term stay. You will never grow tired of the beautiful setting. Even with social distancing measures, Eoin and Libby were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It is convenient to Macroom where there are plenty of grocery stores and shops. We will definitely return as it is a great base location to explore the beauty of the Southwest of Ireland when restrictions are lifted. Very highly recommend!”
Our property is a luxury glamping experience set in a peaceful rustic rural space. The glamping area is a large, very bright studio with unique wooden features and wood burning stove for cosiness. Very comfortable relaxing and quite space to chill out. NOTE:sink, toilet and shower 30 second walk away from studio in host house through a private entrance. Drinking water provided. Great for road & hill walking, no traffic. Hour to Killarney, West Cork & Cork City. Macroom 6 miles away for shops.
“Regina and Paul's place was the accommodation highlight of my trip: I simply needed a place to crash on route to Cork, but their place gave me the emotional nourishment I didn't know I needed amidst a long road trip. The place is cozy and stylish, reminding me of little California cabins I've stayed at. Regina greeted me, having already started a fire in the little fireplace located in the private unit. It's a small space, but the space is really well utilized. It felt like a regular sized apartment. It's a mini kitchen, but they had everything I needed: Regina had carefully stocked the mini fridge with milk, butter, yoghurt, and jam for my stay, along with some fresh soda bread for me to enjoy in the morning. I was here mid-November, and it was one of the few properly heated places I've stayed at! It's very quiet at night, so I was TOASTY in bed listening to the rain on the roof. It's the kind of place you can really relax at. I regret not having allocated more time to spend here: I would have loved to get to know the hosts more. 'Tis my only regret :)”
