Built using native Douglas fir & surrounded by trees, the cabin is located on the grounds of a small residential home where guests will have their own separate outdoor decking and privacy.
“We loved our stay at the cabin. The location is perfect, very close to town while also feeling nicely tucked away. Tara and Peter were there to meet our needs and it was lovely to arrive to a cosy lit fire. Would definitely recommend to friends travelling through the area.”

“Caitlin was the most outstanding host! She was waiting for us in the driveway of the stables when we arrived, and was very understanding of our delayed arrival time. When we entered the stables, the fire was lit and there were eggs, milk and butter in the fridge - not to mention the homemade bread and granola, which were delicious! Such a lovely touch which meant that we didn’t have to get up early the next day and go grocery shopping. Firestarters and lots of firewood were also included, and the cottage soon warmed up even in January! Everything was sparkling clean, and the stables look just as cosy and charming as the photos. The bed was really comfy and extra towels were provided. Caitlin has really thought of everything you might need: there were extra toiletries in the bathroom, and also high vis jackets, torches and umbrellas for walking down into Clonakilty. We have only good things to say about the stables and the host! Thank you for your incredible hospitality Caitlin! The stables were perfect for our wee getaway and we hope to return someday.”

“Really enjoyed our stay at The Bothy for a relaxing time after Christmas. The cottage is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean throughout. Our hosts were extremely polite and available for anything we needed. Mark provided numerous recommendations for local walks and places to eat. The Fish Basket is great for a spot of lunch and DeBarras Pub for a well deserved pint of two! We would highly recommend staying at The Bothy and were thankful for our hosts generosity in providing wood for the stove when needed.”
