“As the song goes “simply the best” ! Rachel is a warm, open, and generous, and very very helpful. Truly a Super Host, who goes out her way to make you feel at home in her home, which is not just comfortable, but full of character too. And she is a great cook ! Rachel is such a lovely person, who is very happy to share time and chat, offer help and information, or give you some personal/private space too, if that’s what you want. Perfect. One of the best places I’ve stayed anywhere (and I’ve stayed in a few !), and I cann’t wait to return.”
A charming, dog friendly holiday home full of character, an ideal base for exploring the surrounding areas. Set on the edge of a quiet rural village with immediate access to public footpaths, it boasts an abundance of places to visit and explore. And with a large multi fuel stove or a short stroll to the local pub, it's the perfect way to escape a busy life-style. Perfectly suited for families, couples, friends, walkers and cyclists alike, and all four legged furry friends are more than welcome!
“Lovely stay at Stone Cottage. Gemma was the perfect host and so thorough and quick with all of her responses to any queries we had. We took our young baby along and Gemma made sure the cottage was ready with a bouncer and Moses basket and left a pouch of baby food together with biscuits for us and treats for the dogs! The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you will need and the decor is really lovely. It’s the perfect place to go with dogs and Gemma has thought of everything for them. Our dogs had a great time by the fire on the comfy dog beds provided. It’s a lovely location if you want to spent time outdoors and we visiting Hamsterley forest and Raby Castle which were both lovely walks. Thank you Gemma we’ve had a lovely little break for our first getaway with the little one!!”
Single Static Caravan, Lodge Farm, Scargill Large 2-bed fully equipped static caravan located on the edge of a grass field within a small 40 acre working sheep farm and three resident alpacas, set in the beautiful and peaceful Greta Valley in Teesdale. A unique opportunity to get away from it all and escape to the country.
“We are a family of four with two young boys and just had a brilliant week in this caravan! The decor is a bit dated so if you are after modern interiors, look elsewhere. But if you want a holiday in a perfect location with panoramic views of hills, fields, sheep and open skies then try this out. The caravan was lovely and clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable and self cater. It is sat to the side of the main farm house but is not overlooked which made it a good combo for ease of access but private. We had some great walks from the front door and explored the local stream and hills without hardly seeing anyone else. Ten minutes drive to Barnard Castle which is quaint and has quite a good selection of shops and a Morrisons. If you holiday here you have to go look at High Force Waterfall- its beautiful. Would also recommend Richmond as a lovely town to walk about. Castles everywhere!”
