Swona

AlanRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Absolutely amazing. Beautiful view of the beach and surrounding area. We got lucky and saw the northern lights! The place was super cozy. Loved the extra effort the hosts put in to make sure we had everything we needed, which included a dog bed, doggy treats and board games. The Christmas tree and bottle of Prosecco were a much appreciated bonus. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

New: Cantick Head Lighthouse Cottage

AnnaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This is a really unique stay and I spent a good part of my time there looking out at sea wondering when I would next be able to come back. So that should tell you how much I liked it! It’s at a lighthouse, so as you would expect, it’s at the end of a long road (which is very bumpy in places!). Then you get to the cosy house, with a wood fire, and well stocked kitchen with welcome treats. Alan is very friendly as are the dogs and the chickens! My child loved feeding them every morning. The fresh farm eggs were such a treat. Cantick Head itself is stunning and we loved being in the hot tub and sauna. Note to other guests- all these are wood powered so stock up on firewood before you arrive (you can buy bags at the shop next to the Lyness ferry). My mum took one of the bikes out and we all enjoyed walking the coastline. This is a special stay, don’t hesitate to book!

4 Bed in Wick (91390)

NathalieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Every year we pick a new location in Scotland to celebrate my brother's birthday, and this one was one of our favorites so far. The host left many nice touches around the house, including a bottle of Prosecco, as well as some treats for our dog. The location was perfect for us (30 minutes from the Orkney ferry, walking distance from town center, and near some beautiful locations for short walks). Would definitely book this place again.

Feawell Self Catering Cottage, Stromness, Orkney

RobertoRating, 5 stars1 week ago
FEAWELL COTTAGE is certainly one off the best accommodations in Orkney. Ann living next door made us feel at home. The sea view from the property is extremely peaceful overlooking Hoy hills. The cottage is built to high quality standards, very comfortable and well equipped, spotless clean. Excellent location near the main archeological sites and next door to Stromness. We shall return considering Feawell our home in Orkney.

The Steading, Melvich

GiulianaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay at the Steading was wonderful and relaxing, with beautiful views of the coast and a very cozy interior. Jacqui was there to greet us and show us around, which was much appreciated. The Steading is well located for excursions to both the northeast and northwest coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

Drumdry Cottage, on NC500 with bike storage!

StephenRating, 5 stars8 months ago
What an absolute dream of a place to stay. Recently fully renovated and it is simply stunning. Minutes from the center of Wick and just off the NC 500, Drumdry was an ideal base for exploring the far northeastern corner of Scotland. The cottage was situated among beautiful farm fields and our son loved saying hi every morning to the sheep outside. And I can’t say enough how wonderful the owner is. She not only was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived, she also thoughtfully brought us a bunch of toys for our son to play with and feel more at home. I literally don’t think you could ask for a better host. Indeed our whole experience at Drumdry was so lovely it has reset the bar for what a 5 star stay is. I couldn’t recommend a stay here highly enough!

Traditional Orkney Cottage on the island of Hoy

JaneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our brief stay in this cosy cottage. Although small, it is thoughtfully kitted out with everything that could be required. The location is stunning - beautiful views of the clear turquoise waters and the hills behind. We met nothing but kindness and friendliness from the people of Hoy, and especially from Kathleen

NC500 secluded, spacious 2 bedroom, fenced garden

JulieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Lovely cottage/bungalow set in a glorious position. The property is kitted out with everything except your wellingtons and if they knew your size they would probably have organised those as well! Would highly recommend staying in this property, we did not meet the hosts but there is a book that lists their contact details and details about everything else you could possibly need. Hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Pretty 3 bedroom cottage in beautiful settings

AndreaRating, 5 stars8 months ago
The 5 of us had a wonderful stay at Park Cottage. It sounded lovely on the listing but actually exceeded our expectations. Cosy, very clean, comfortable, very cute cottage in beautiful surroundings and a short drive to Kirkwall. The bus also stops right outside if needed. Kitchen well stocked with basics and welcoming cookies for our arrival. Very good communication with Ronnie. Thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Traditional two bed Scottish croft

PhilRating, 5 stars2 days ago
This was a great stay. The place is modern, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It’s in a charming little neighborhood in a cute town. We also stopped by Elizabeth and Mark’s farm in Forsinard and got to feed some lambs and meet some highland cows, which was a real treat.

We can only wholeheartedly recommend Ian and Barbara's place. They are wonderful, warm, and extremely helpful hosts. We have spent many holidays in Scotland, and they rank on top of the list. Actually, having them around from the first hour, we felt like being invited into their family. This is perhaps their greatest give to any guest. Thank you, Ian and Barbara.

Traditional Orkney Cottage with Wonderful Views

Dawn-StarrRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Claudia's home is one of the best homes we've ever stayed in, bar none. The location is absolutely stunning, and the home has been impeccably restored and remodeled. The furnishings are comfortable and the home is beautifully decorated and filled with original art, gorgeous Orcadian handcrafted furniture and pottery, and historical items and photographs. There is an ample library and games for rainy or bluster weather. The kitchen was outfitted with every thing you would need, even a pint of milk for your morning tea. What really sets South Waird apart is that it feels like a gracious, love-filled home that good friends invited you into. The love of Orkney, and respect for the environment, is clear. This is a place for happy celebrations, a place to heal from sadness, a place to watch sky, sea, and stars and feel whole. Thank you, Claudia, for sharing this jewel.

Campston cottage

GordonRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We really enjoyed staying here! This house is a short 10min drive from Kirkwall and sits in the middle of beautiful countryside. A highlight was having breakfast in the conservatory looking out over the fields to the bay beyond. The house was much larger than we expected with a large kitchen-dining room and separate living room; a great place to stay!

Lynwood, Stenness, Orkney

MargaretRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Lovely setting. Despite being on a busy main road we did not feel this disturbed our peace, slept well on comfy beds. Great for walking to Stones of Stenness and Ring of Brodgar. Also for Maeshowe. There are limited footpaths but walking on the road felt safe as all vehicles gave room to us. Bus services were good and on the whole on time - a day pass was good value Only problem was that we had not brought food (no vehicle ) so on arrival had hoped to eat at hotel nearby, unfortunately they did not serve food. Fortunately there was a very welcome welcome pack from Kayleigh which was much appreciated
