  • The Cabin at Mauchline was a great place to stay. It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped for the two of us, plus our little dog, with stylish touches. We were warm and cosy despite the snowy weather, we loved the log burner as well as the central heating! Christine was a lovely host and we appreciated her generous welcome touches. • We were greeted by Moira and her fantastic hospitality. The farm was a little distant from the town but worth the effort and easy to find. The food is the best ever for not only did we have the traditional Scottish breakfast, we were greeted with tea and homemade pancakes on the evening that we arrived. Overall a pleasant surprise and highly recommended. Best bed & breakfast in Scotland!

  • Our stay at Brewer’s Cottage over the New Year period was amazing - the cottage exceeded my expectations as I feel like the photos on Airbnb do not do the place justice! George and Amanda are lovely and very welcoming hosts and I cannot recommend this property enough and I will definitely be back one day. A very quiet location which is perfect for a getaway.

    Hollie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • George and Amanda’s cottage was an ideal place to spend Christmas. The cottage itself was spacious, clean, and very homely! Lovely touches including Christmas decorations and a welcome basket which were greatly appreciated. We had everything we needed! The hosts were great at communicating throughout our stay and we were shown around by the lovely Ashe who made us feel very welcome. Our favourites were the hot tub and the fire place which were used regularly! The garden area itself was beautiful and great for spotting lots of different types of birds and wildlife. The town of Mauchline was a short drive away which was handy for picking up anything we needed! We would definitely recommend the Brewer’s Cottage for anyone needing a relaxing break outside of the city!

  • Nothing was to fault. It was a most attractive and hospitable stay. Option for breakfast was a plus.

  • It was lovely staying at Marie's place. The room is really clean and well equipped. I would definitely recommend it and it was unfortunate that I could only stay for one night.

  • Lovely cottage, very comfortable

  • Marie is the most lovely, welcoming and thoughtful host. Everything was perfect and I felt at home from the minute I arrive. Plus, Marie has the cutest little dog! I highly recommend staying here.

  • Marie is a great hoast and the place is just amazing, we had a great time there along with Marie and Mac :)

  • Marie was very welcoming and made our stay special. Her Westie Mac was equally friendly. This is a pretty spot, with home comforts with the right degree of privacy. Sensational Scottish breakfast set us up for the day. Would come back again in a heartbeat

  • This B and B is quite literally in the middle of nowhere, but that’s not a bad thing in any way. It was handy for my needs I was going to a wedding at nearby Dumfries House and a taxi cost a tenner from here. The house is part of a working farm but I didn’t hear a thing during my stay, the bed was comfy and the shower was good. The breakfast was perfect and Moira was attentive and lovely. This place did exactly what it said on the tin and if I was in the area again I would 100% stay here again.

  • Excellent stay with a lovely host and a great breakfast - thank you!

    Susanne2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed warmly by Moira as soon as we arrived, and shown to a spotlessly clean room. We had the room with separate bathroom, (although there was a toilet next door , and a basin in the bedroom). The breakfast was delicious - cooked breakfast, whatever we wanted, and served in the pleasant, bright dining room. Perfectly located a couple of miles away from Dumfries House, a home from home - nothing was too much trouble for cheerful Moira!

    Martha2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely brilliant stay.. Moira is all friendliness, hospitality and helpfulness. Food was delicious - especially the porridge with fresh fruit. When my plans changed Moira was gracious and flexible. Highly recommended.

  • Great Experience

    Ali2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, I feel we got so lucky by finding this place. Everything was way above our expectations. Our room was beautiful and pristinely clean. Breakfast was amazing, we got to try Scottish specialties and Moira was very accommodating. Moira’s husband gave us a tour of the farm and answered many questions we had about farming and his experience. Kids had so much fun playing in the backyard, out in the field and interacting with calves. The farm is so hi-tech, I had no idea this much automation was even possible. Very educational and fascinating! We definitely hope to be back some day.

It is vital that the guest is a dog lover as I have a puppy. The flat is located in a village Rural Scotland. There are lots of lovely places to walk in the surrounding area.
With other towns there is plenty more to do out with the area: Kilmarnock is around half an hour away via public transport.
There is a pretty river walk close by.
