Places to stay in Waterfoot
Nestled in the heart of Glenariffe Forest valley, the village of Waterfoot is overlooked by the spectacular mountain peak of Lurigethan. This 3 bedroom beach house is located in the heart of the village, and is less than a one minute walk from the beach, and from local village pubs and shops. A great location for exploring the Glens Of Antrim, with stunning waterfalls and forest parks close by. Continue along the Causeway Coastal Route to Giant's Causeway, Ballintoy Harbour, The Dark Hedges etc
Cozy getaway in a sleepy coastal town. Have the feeling of being ‘off the grid’ and avoid the tourist trap, while still being close to many top attractions on the famous North Coast!
Quiet coastal town with spectacular scenery all around. There is a convenient shop just across the road has everything you would need to eat and drink. There are a number of lovely restaurants close by in Cushendall, and two charming traditional Irish pubs within a one minute walk of the front door!

Sundial House exudes old-world Irish charm. The 1849 property sits in the heart of Cushendall, a quaint village where the friendliness of the locals is legendary. Pets are welcome. Restaurants, cafes and pubs within 150 meters.
Sundial House has four bright bedrooms, one double ensuite, one by three singles and two by each one double and two singles, all that feel quintessentially Irish and vintage. Additionally it provides two sitting rooms, a self-catering kitchen and a terrace decked with pretty flowers and aromatic herbs.
Much of the historic character of the 19th century settlement on the north bank of the River Dall remains. In 1973 it was designated as only the second Conservation Area in Northern Ireland, and includes the largely intact Irish Georgian buildings of the town’s four original streets. Since 1990, Cushendall has hosted the Heart Of The Glens festival every August.
  • Very nice place to stay. We had our own living area with a fireplace. It was wonderful and we felt very comfortable.

  • Great place to stay. Whilst this accommodation is in an old house it is clean, charming and nothing is too much trouble for the host. Situated in the heart of the village it is perfect for socialising at night.

    Conrad2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Truly beautiful building, a joy to stay in the old house alone. Very friendly people, great local knowledge, excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities, spacious and comfortable rooms, complete privacy as the host's living area is segregated on a separate floor.

  • Annie's place is just amazing! Perfectly located in the heart of charming Cushendall, Sundial House is such a comfortable and cosy place to stay! Annie is the best hostess, and we truly appreciated her warmth and kindness, hospitality and local expertise. All the facilities you need are provided, including a large fully equipped guest kitchen. The rooms are super cosy and comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. All township sights and restaurants, pubs etc are within 2 minutes walk. The lovely beach is 5 minutes walk, and the fascinating ruins of Layde church are just up on the cliff top. I couldn't recommend Cushendall and Annie's place more highly. We will be back for sure!!!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Georgina’s house by the beach. The welcome basket of goodies were such a lovely touch. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We were 2 adults, 2 children & 2 small dogs. The beach is just 1 min from the back garden gate and we walked it everyday. There is so much to do in the area and Georgina left lots of information. Really had a fabulous time and highly recommend as a central place to explore Co. Antrim and relax and unwind after a busy day. Thank you Georgina for having us :)

    Pauline2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

  • The wee house by the shore is beautiful, very stylish and spotless! It is perfectly located by a nice beach and very close by drive to the most amazing landscapes. Georgina was very thoughtful in her hospitality, by sending an email the day before to guide us to the place, and leaving a lovely basket full of gifts for the kids and adults :) We would love to come back!

The house is a luxury detached property, overlooking the village of Cushendall and the Irish Sea. On a clear day you can see the coast of Scotland. There are 4 large bedrooms, 3 with ensuite and one is suitable for wheelchair users. 3 rooms have king size beds and the fourth has a king bed and 2 single beds. There is a fully equipped kitchen and utility room. All the bedrooms have flat screen tvs. The property is 1 mile from the village of Cushendall which has a beach, golf course, shops and bars.
What guests love most about the place is the views. Over the Irish Sea to the front, and Lurig mountain to the rear. The bedrooms are large, and all but one, have ensuites.
Cushendall is a charming little village. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and you are right on the doorstep of the Causeway Coastal Route. The village has a few bars and restaurants. Joe's Bar is great for traditional music and you are close to the beach and the golf course (9 hole). Every year in August there is a festival week, which provides plenty of activities for young and old alike.
  • It was awesome stay. Very nice location to spend time as much as we want...all facilities were nice and owner is very much helpful and quick in responding our concerns if any. would surely like to visit here again... Thnx

  • This house is in the most beautiful location - with amazing views over the glens and out to the sea. You have everything you could want here - a lovely, comfortable space in the country to relax. Patricia was extra accommodating too when we realised we had forgotten items after we had checked out!

    Emma2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful scene from home

    Dinesh2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s place is brilliant! Perfect for couples and kids! The views are spectacular, so close to the town for bits and bobs and a pint! Loved how there were lots of seating to let us sit around together! WOULD RECOMMEND!!

    Dave2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious house and lots of room for 8 or more guests. Tremendous views and the view as u drive down the drive way to the house is truly spectacular. The pictures don’t do it justice!! Great amenities and also perfectly located; just off the scenic coastal highway and the drive up to the giants causeway bush mills and port rush or to Carrickfergus and Belfast. Either are about an hour away by car. Be sure to take the coastal route up. The coastal highway is one of the prettiest drives in the world.. and one of the most exciting... especially going east and south where u have the outside lane!

    Donald2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • This house was beautifully presented spacious and so we'll equipped for our young children. had an amazing family trip away

Totally self catering cottage in the Glens of Antrim. Sleeps 4 people. The fee for the cottage is, £25 for the first person and £12 for each additional guest. Two double beds in two separate bedrooms, and possibility of additional temporary beds. Accommodation consists of two bedrooms, one shower/toilet space, and spacious kitchen and living area. The cottage also has its own garden. The cottage is let to one group at a time.
This fully self contained cottage is located in a space that I can only describe as a slice of heaven. Located in the middle of Northern Ireland's scenic North Antrim coast, the cottage is totally self catering, with private secluded garden. Was once an artists retreat. Also large adjoining garden around my own nearby cottage with parking space. Not too far from the Giants Causeway, and centrally located to everything in the Glens and North East Antrim coast. I live in a nearby cottage, where if opportunity arises meals are sometimes shared with the family. There is no TV in the cottage (or my own house), i live in an area where reception problems exist. I see this as a good opportunity to get away from TV etc.
Great walks and great music can be heard on specific nights and times of the year. But most of all great nature. The best thing any visitor can do is get out driving and walking, beaches, water falls, hills and forests. Also some great music pubs nearby.
  • Raymie was a great host! Clear communicator and responded quickly. The cottage was exactly as described and served as a good stop on my road trip. Would highly recommend!

This 3 bedroom beach house is located in the heart of the village, and is less than a one minute walk from the beach, and from local village pubs and shops. • We were net at the house by Neil's Mum, Ann who was very friendly and helpful. She had bought us some basic groceries for breakfast and even organised a restaurant booking for us for dinner and drove us there and back! The house is very close to the Causeway coastal route so it was ideal for our one night stay. Check- out time was very flexible.

  • Really convenient location - right off the Main Street which has a pub and shop etc. 5 min walk to the beach. V handy for wedding at Kilmore country house. They were very accommodating with check in and Check our times and even left some bread milk and jam which was a nice touch. All very easy and good spot to base yourself.

    Katie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Neil’s place. Ann met us to let us in. She was so helpful and thoughtful. Great base for weddings in Kilmore Country house. Highly recommend!!

    Lauren2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning views, lovely beach & surroundings. The house is well equipped for a group of friends, and the host Ann went out of her way to accommodate our check in time and be there to meet us. They also gave lots of helpful local tips. Lovely fluffy towels, and new bedding, and nice touches like milk and bread for breakfast. Only thing to note would be there is only one shower - in the en suite - and a bath in the main bathroom.

    Jen2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Neil's place is a great opportunity to find good accommodation between the Ferry docks on the east side of Northern Ireland and the Giant Causeway. A great option for a start or end step of a road trip. The place is also nice, comfy and clean - wholeheartedly suggested.

    Davide2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous weekend at Neil’s. We were attending a friends wedding a couple of miles away and the house couldn’t have been in a better location for us. Neil was very quick to respond to any queries we had before we booked and after. Ann came to meet us at a time convenient to us and nothing was a problem. The welcome pack was much appreciated too. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Would highly recommend!

    Jane2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, very clean, tidy and perfectly located for exploring the local area. The host was a great help for any questions we had, responded to messages quickly and made checking in and out a breeze. Would defiantly stay again.

GlenHaven has stunning views of Glenariff, and is a few minutes walk from a beautiful beach, 2 miles from the spectacular Glenariff Forest Park and just 500m from the famous Causeway Coastal Route. We are now offering our guests BIKE HIRE , a great way to see the wonderful Glens of Antrim, with vast scenery & wildlife, and just 5 minutes from the cottage you can enjoy a cycle along the causeway costal route, passing through idyll seaside villages.
Our unique cottage is made up of 2 individual apartments. Apartment B accommodates 4 people with two spacious ensuite bedrooms with own kitchen/lounge and private front door entrance. Bedrooms are on the ground floor. There is ample parking which is safe and secure with a great outdoor space that is child friendly. GlenHaven offers a safe enclosed play area for children. The outdoor space offers a Picnic & BBQ area to let you enjoy the sunshine late into the evening. The cottage is in a quiet area, therefore the cottage is not suitable for parties or loud music. On-farm walks and wonderful scenery with wildlife & birdwatching – walking boots/camera/binoculars would let you enjoy the area surrounding Glenariff. GlenHaven is in an excellent location beside both the Moyle and Ulster Walk Ways.
  • We were met with keys and shown into a beautiful, clean and comfortable space with incredible views. It was totally worth the money and my wife and I will be returning and staying here again. Elaine was extremely kind and helpful, and I really appreciated the cleanliness of the place. There is even a freakin washer for your clothes, in addition to an oven and stove, sink and view of a beautiful mountain/hill from the sink. Great water pressure when you take a shower and it's about a 1 minute drive to the oceanfront.

    sheldon2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine’s place is perfectly finished, clean, modern and stylish. It’s comfortable and warm, the bed is amazing, the shower is powerful with instant hot water and the kitchen/dining/living room has all you could need for a short or long stay. It’s beautifully situated with mountains on either side, making for incredible views, as well as being so close to the beach and the forest park. Elaine was so accommodating and thoughtful, and very efficient in communication too. Cannot recommend highly enough and would be delighted to return as soon as we get the chance

  • 100% recommendation for this appartment. We stayed there for 3 nights and it was the best stay we had in our vacation.

    Robert2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Elaine’s holiday accommodation is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need for a self catering break. Elaine had kindly left us the essentials for a cuppa when we arrived. There is a boardwalk at the end of the road which leads to a beach cafe. Elaine has provided a bbq which we made great use out of and all the necessary accessories were provided. There is a fire pit to sit around as the evening draws in. Our break here was a relaxing tranquil break where we were very well looked after. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and extremely clean. There are plenty of tvs for all the family and of course the necessary Wi-fi. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Elaine

  • Had a fantastic stay at Glenhaven. The pictures don't do the views justice, such a scenic and peaceful location. So much space and great for kids. Everything you need and more, Elaine was more than accommodating providing a travel cot and highchair, and lovely touches like milk and pancakes on our arrival. House was spotless and location excellent for exploring the Causeway Coast & Glens. Hope to return again in the future.

  • This is one of those places you want to keep as your own little secret. But the hosts Eileen & Eamon were so welcoming and sincere that they really do deserve all the success in the world. It's a peaceful, relaxing, idyllic location and exactly what we needed. We're all looking forward to going back and would highly recommend.

  • We have been to Ireland three times and for our fourth trip we wanted to do the north coast. We have two boys, 2 and 4 years old. This house blew us away and was better than we could have ever imagined. Everything about our stay here was like a dream. The location was set in beautiful mountains on either side but if you drove three minutes there was a beach and grocery store. Elaine, Eamon, and their children were so accommodating and gracious. They made our stay, as well as our children's perfect. She had toys for the boys to play with inside and out and my son can't stop talking about his Thomas the Train bedspread she put out for him! Their family graciously invited the boys to hold and feed a lamb and some sheep. The location is also only about 30-40 minutes from all the areas along the north coast we wanted to visit. We will remember this trip forever and will absolutely be back again!

  • Elaine's cottage possibly ranks as the best Airbnb we have stayed in so far! It's decorated to be cosy, clean & stylish and you instantly feel at home and the local knowledge is immensely helpful and thorough. The area was stunningly picturesque and refreshing and we would highly recommend both the cottage and area for a relaxing retreat.

  • If you're thinking of booking the place don't hesitate. Nicola is a great host and the property is nice with all that has been mentioned in previous reviews. Here is what you need to know- 1. With the postcode our satnav took us to a different location and there is no name/ numbers displayed for you identify the property. If you're driving there, the landmark is Glens residential home- the property is bang opposite. The location of the property is gorgeous with beautiful views from the road. 2. In the kitchen, you have bread, butter, jam, green top milk, tea bags, some coffee, salt, oil and plenty of mixed herbs- you bring the rest! 3. Toiletries, you have a bar of soap, toilet rolls and handwash. So you'll need to bring the rest. The bath towels are basic, but practical. P.S: Ladies, the hairdryer is a good one! All in all, great stay, would recommend.

  • My friend and I very much enjoyed our stay at this cute and idyllic B&B. The room and bathroom were big, clean and nicely made up. We still talk about the pancakes we had as part of our breakfast fry. They were definitely the best we had during our stay in Ireland. Any chance we could get the recipe? ;)

    Julian2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly, comfortable stay at this lovely B&B! We were greeted warmly at the door, and given information about good places for dinner, as well as a booklet with things to do in the area, wifi password, etc. Eamon also asked us what time we wanted breakfast (8-10 am range). We then left to visit the totally worthwhile Glenariff Forest, and Layd Church ruins, before tucking into the very comfy bed for the night. We woke up to views of the sea, rolling hills, and a few friendly farm animals. Mary greeted us in the morning for a full Irish breakfast cooked to order, along with a wide assortment of yogurt, fruit, granola, juice, coffee, tea and toast. She took time to chat with us and give us some wonderful suggestions for our drive up the coast the next day as well-- her hospitality completely made the visit! We felt welcome and free to ask for anything we needed. The B&B itself is ideally situated in easy walking distance from main Cushendall, with pubs, ATMs, several small shops, and a small convenience and grocery shop. Don't hesitate to book this place for couples, single travelers or families. I'd return again in a heartbeat!

  • I messaged Audrey to ask if we could stay at the flat last minute, and 3 hours later we were in. She very kindly allowed us to keep our bikes in the hallway during our stay. The flat is very clean and tidy and is very well equipped. It is located in a good place for exploring the costal route. The local pubs are very nice and there was live music in the pub across the road. I would highly recommend a stay in Audreys flat.

  • Rose has a lovely place in Glenariff. The room was clean and views from her place look up to beautiful mountains. She suggested a lovely place for dinner tucked in the woods with a sweet waterfall nearby, which was perfect. Finally, she assisted us to make arrangements for a room the following night as we were planning to visit Belfast. In short, we very much enjoyed our rest at her B&B and would recommend Rose’s place.

The free parking across the street was very handy for our rental car and has a good sized kitchen and living room. • This is a beautiful home situated in an amazing location close to all the Glens have to offer. It is deceptively spacious, has great open space and excellent facilities. The host is efficient and helpful, and we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket. This location would be great any time of year and is comfortable, modern and well equipped.

    David2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Christine's stay was perfect. The house is very welcoming, very large, immaculate. We were able to enjoy the fireplace that Christine had prepared (it was only lit). A basket filled with provisions was also waiting for us. The area is beautiful, the village so charming, like the people. We could have stayed even longer. Congratulations to Christine.

  • Perfect spot to tour the Glens of Antrim. After a day of exploring beaches , Glens and Waterfalls we booked into Harry’s for a lovely meal just a few mins from our accommodation and then finished the night listening to Irish traditional music in Joes. Sunday morning walked to beach and had a coffee from local shop watching the waves. Just perfect

Our house is just on the edge of the picturesque village of Cushendall, nestled in the heart of the glens of Antrim. It is a bright, modern property with lots of space, set in a quiet, rural location, but is just a short walk into the village. From the front of the house are views out to sea and towards Lurig mountain. We are a 10 minute walk down a lane to the beach and a short drive over the hills to Cushendun, past the ruins of Layde Church. There is also a scenic cliff footpath up to Layde.
We are close to a golf course, play parks, forest parks, and there are any number of challenging cycle routes nearby for the less faint-hearted. We are a short drive to the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-rede ropebridge and many of the Game of Thrones set locations, such as Ballintoy harbour. “Lonely Planet” lists Belfast and The Causeway Coast as the best region to visit in 2018.
We are within walking distance of Cushendun (owned by the National Trust) and Waterfoot villages, both of which have spectacular beaches.
  • We drove up from Belfast to the house along the coastal road, which gave us a little taste of the absolutely stunning scenery and views along the Antrim coast. When we arrived at the house, we were so touched to see a whole host of lovely, welcoming little features - a loaf of fresh bread, homemade jam, some gorgeous chocolates, along others! The house was spotlessly clean and incredibly well stocked - we found everything we could ever need and more. The children had a great time exploring and deciding who would sleep where, and promptly deemed the place better than our own house. The house is perfectly positioned, with a lovely little path down to the beach. We spent quite a few days just in Cushendall as well as exploring further afield. There is so much to see and do locally that we didn’t manage to get through half the things on our list, but if you’re short of ideas, there is a folder in the house, provided by the lovely Christine, full of great ideas and things to do locally. We stayed for 10 nights and didn’t want to leave - it really was the most fantastic holiday. There’s something for everyone, no matter what your age or interests. Our children are 7, 3 and 16 months and they all had an absolutely brilliant time. We are hoping to be back in the not too distant future!

    Paul2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this house, beautiful surroundings but close to the village. I know the area well and there are very few places to stay around there in comfort. I’ll be back now that we have found this special place to stay.

  • We were looking for a place along the North Coast and Christine’s cottage was absolutely perfect. The town of Cushendall offers a nice beach and great restaurants, and all of Christine’s recommendations were spot on. There’s a great walk from the cottage to Layd Church as well. The house was clean and spacious, and Christine was extremely responsive. I can only hope we have a chance to stay here again in the future!

    Amanda2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little quiet cottage perfectly situated near Cushendall and close to the beach. If you like to sleep with the window open, you hear nothing but the twittering and chirping of birds and the "baaa"ing of sheep. The kitchen provides everything you need from bottle opener to sharp knife and Christine provides a thick folder full of helpful information and advice. We had everything we needed for a perfect few days!

Situated in the historical centre of the village our beloved house stands just a few yards from the stunning Curfew Tower and in so forms a unified whole with its original stone walls, antique furniture and open fireplaces. The room itself is a beautiful and cordial example of Irish cosiness and comfort. Two large windows bring plenty of light into the spacious room. It is a very good choice for couples, solo adventurers, backpackers, as well as for furry friends that also like our pets!

This quaint cottage is perched on one of the best coastal drives on the planet. Fallowvee cottage in Glenariff has a stunning absolute shoreline position. This amazing home has been awarded the Tourist Board "Rural Cottage of the Year" . The two-bedroom cottage has been sensitively restored and upgraded to include all home comforts. Historically part of Lady Londonderry’s estate the weighbridge and pier was gifted to Sir Winston Churchill. Minimum7 nights in high season( June-sept, Xmas, Easter)
Located in the heart of the Famous Glens of Antrim. A short drive to the Giants Causeway , Bushmills Village, Portrush , Ballycastle . Less than one hours drive to Belfast
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this rustic coastal house. The views are stunning and the cosy fire was lovely for evenings in. You will need a car to get around but I think most people know that as there is lots to explore along the coast. Thanks

    Lucie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is as beautiful in reality, as it is in the photographs. It is one of the very few properties along the coast line that is right on the ocean--most have the coastal road between the place and the ocean. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities that it lists. The sitting/family room in front of the fire is a perfect setting to relax as the Atlantic crashes into the shore below. While the weather was typical for November, the rain and high seas add to the charm of this cottage. There are some nice places to eat/drink in some of the villages a short drive from the cottage. Of the 10 or so airbnbs we have stayed in 5 countries, this place had the most authentic character. Highly recommend!

    Philip2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow the view alone is worth visiting for! What an amazing scenic little spot! The cottage is quaint and decorated with an array of quirky maritime/farming decor, with some beautiful artwork on display! Kitchen well equipped and lovely open fire. We had a wonderful time, would love to return, and the definite highlight was the waves crashing the rocks below!

    Laura2019-11-01T00:00:00Z

  • We wanted to stay somewhere close by after our wedding that we could chill and just reflect on our day. This was the perfect location. The peace and quiet of the sea and the warm fire was the perfect combination. The boardwalk especially down the sea is pretty magical. It's on our list to stay here again as it was just amazing. Johanna was very helpful in her communication and Una for making sure the fire was lit and we had all we needed.

    Adam2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a gorgeous spot and such a lovely cosy house. I could happily wake up to that view every morning. Lovely find and one of the nicest Air BnBs I've stayed in , thanks Una and Johanna. Tip: the food up at McBrides Pub in Cushendun is some of the best I've had up the coast
