Hossa National Park opens in front of the cottage. The cottage is located on the shore of the peaceful Joukojärvi lake. Cottage built in respect of traditions from a building carved in the 1890s. Heating is provided by the oven and two stoves. Electricity is produced from solar energy only during the darkest months of charging batteries with an aggregate. Wood heated sauna in the same building. The outside toilet is composted and odourless. Kainuu nature trips rent electric fat bikes, slippers and paddling equipment.

During the summer an attic room with a double bed is also in use. Use of a rowing boat, an Indian canoe and 2 stand-up paddleboards & use of the grillhut & firewood are included in the rent. You can also rent 1 single kayak separately, rental price 20€/day. Sandy-bottomed shallow beach facing south, providing a great swimming spot. Pets are also welcome!
