Lovely welcome from Amanda. Welcome pack very much appreciated from Amanda. Very clean, airy, spacious cosy cottage in a lovely area of Gavinton. Warm cottage and very well equipped kitchen. For a cooler evening a lovely multi fuel stove. Very quiet at night. 2miles from Duns where youll find a well stocked co-op and gift shops post office, bistro, pharmacy, Chinese and pizza takeaway and bakery plus ice creams. Many tourist attractions within easy driving of Gavinton. St Abbs Head was spectacular especially in glorious sunshine and warmth. The beaches on this coast line are breath taking especially Coldingham. A totally enjoyable relaxing stay in The Den Gavinton

Beautiful garden flat in lovely surroundings. There was plenty of room for three of us, with lovely en suite bathroom and separate shower. The view from the lounge and kitchen was lovely. Philippa was very friendly, and happy to chat. Using the Whatthreewords app as Philippa suggested was very helpful for finding the house for the first time.

This was a last minute decision to book and we were not disappointed. What a great little place. The cottage has everything a couple would need and the log burner kept us very cosy. Whilst the cottage is on a small holding/farm, the cottage feels very private, with the security of the owners being close by. We pre-ordered the Lamb Tagine for our first night and it was excellent as were the complimentary brownies there for us on arrival. Great place to just kick back and chill. We will be back.

Groom's Cottage is a very special place. I felt at home the moment I arrived and was delighted with the stunning surroundings. The grounds of the castle are beautiful and full of wildlife to watch out for. It's a delight to watch deer stroll across the lawns in the early morning, listen to the owls at night and spot hares and rabbits bobbing across the grass. If I could have stayed longer, I would have. I can't recommend the cottage enough - a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. The host and staff at the castle could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Missing it already!
