Self Catering Apartment located on a farm two miles from Kenmare town. Stunning Mountain Views.
“This little apartment felt like a little home away from home and provided a great escape when storm Dennis chased us back from our roadtrip early. We were warmly welcomed with a fire in the hearth and fresh eggs from Joanne's farm, as well as by the very friendly dog Shadow. We were able to cook for ourselves comfortably and slept very well. The only thing we'd advise travellers to be aware of, is the road. The instructions are very clear (Thank Joanne!) but this is a one-lane road where you can at any moment run into a car coming from the opposite direction. That was a little scary, especially for people used to driving on the other side of the road, but not that bad and entirely worth it when you get to that beautiful view from the house.”
*** NEW LISTING *** Compact & bijou private chalet 9 minutes walking distance west of the beautiful and charming village of Glengarriff. “Hey guys! Thanks for letting us stay at your place! The chalet is roomy, comfy, clean, we had everything we could possibly need and Frank is super nice. Everything was easy as and he even gave us heaps of local tips and ideas where to go and what to see. Thanks again! Would come back any time! Cheers”
Just 2km from the beautiful town of Kenmare, our hillside cottage is the perfect location for exploring the Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry or the Wild Atlantic Way. Having been recently redecorated it has a modern airy atmosphere while maintaining all the charm of a stone cottage.
“1.) The environment: The house is located on a small hill, where you have a beautiful view of meadows / mountains and the sea. Not far from the house, some cows / sheep graze, and if you are lucky, you can even see some deer. The house is very quiet, where you can find relaxation. To get to the center of Kenmare you have to take a short walk of about 30 minutes. What does not matter in the beautiful area. If you decide at night for the way home on foot, you should have a small flashlight with you, as it is quite dark and the road has many winding bends. 2.) Host: When we arrived at the house, came shortly after Niamh and her son Connor to us. After a short small talk and a brief briefing we were allowed to enter the super-cozy house. Key was already in the front door. The communication with Niamh went without a hitch. Niamh itself, lives about 100 meters away as the crow flies. If questions or problems arise, you have a good contact person. 3.) Facilities: Everything was there and everything was very clean and well maintained. Iron / dishwasher / coffee machine / kettle / stove / oven / TV / Wi-Fi (pretty fast) etc. Everything you need for a few days. The bed was super comfortable and very big. Even if the water (shower) is warmed up by a water heater, everything worked great. Each room was equipped with an elekt.Heizung. If you want to do the work, you can also turn on the fireplace. Wood etc. are available. Perfect for the romantic evening :) 4.) Service: The own garbage (in our case: many empty beer cans) may be left in a small chamber. The host will take care of it after check-out. A service that is not standard. For a tourist, however, a great relief and time savings. On the last day we received from Niamh by email, the electricity we used. We were allowed to leave money in the house. (Confidence) 5.) Car: You can park directly in front of the house and you have a lot of space to shuffle. 6.) The City: Kenmare is a small but beautiful village with many pubs / restaurants and small boutiques. There is something for every taste. Shopping is cheap in the resident Lidl or the little expensive SuperValue, which has much more choice and more Irish products, as the competition. How preferred SuperValue, because we found much more there and could try it out. Kenmar has a huge advantage. You can drive from there super the ring of Kerry / Beara and in the evening anyway something to do. Many villages in the area make everything early, so that you can do something in Kenmar in the evening. Conclusion: If you are looking for a house that is beautifully located, comfortable and cozy, but a small walk to the center can take on, is at Niamh and her family just right. We really enjoyed the week and would return anytime.”
