The Bothy is a wonderful place for both r&r and as a base to explore the wilds of Scotland. It’s incredibly peaceful, cosy, and well located. There are plenty of walks that leave from the front door, as well as some beautiful longer walks a short car ride or cycle away. Susannah was a wonderful host and kept in touch which was much appreciated. Definitely stay here if you can!

A remarkable find! Nestled in a beautiful rural setting in Angus, Glenquiech is magical, where the pace of our days slowed as we breakfasted with red squirrels outside our door. The gift of being at treetop height, (the Wood House is a long, cleverly-designed loft space; clean & comfy) meant we felt part of nature & could sit with a drink while an array of small birds & the red squirrels visited. Hannah and Ross were wonderful hosts. Warm, welcoming & helpful, quick to respond to any questions and they introduced us to peaceful spots we would have otherwise missed. Ross knows all the best wild-swimming spots! Shout out to their pet turkey who roams about making a friendly rumbling sound! Further up on the hill, you can spot Red Kites & we walked for miles through farmland & forest. Evenings, we wandered through a field, climbed a style with a flask of wine, & watched the sun go down by their mini loch. Just bliss! Negatives? We only booked 3 nights. We’ll def. return for longer

Alexander and Gail communicated well from the point of booking. Check in was straightforward, with Alexander messaging with instructions prior to us arriving. We were greeted on arrival which was appreciated. They were the perfect hosts in that they were unintrusive but were on hand if we had any issues. This is a beautiful property in a tranquil location, but within easy walking distance of the town centre. It had everything we needed and more. The tea, coffee, fresh milk and shortbread was welcome on arrival. We had absolutely no issues or reason to complain. We hope to be back. Highly recommended
