Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Japan

Great host! Drove us from the train station to the Airbnb as it would have been a 1 km walk with our luggages. Also woke up early just to drive us to the airport in time. Super friendly as well! Shared with us about his life stories and we had great conversations.

I stayed with my family and I stayed with them. I was able to use it with peace of mind with a friendly and timely host who was able to contact me.She put water in the refrigerator and was grateful for the cold water. It was raining on the second day, so unfortunately I couldn't let my dog play in the garden, but it was beautifully maintained, so I recommend it.

It was a beautiful single-family house, where we could enjoy a barbecue, jacuzzi, playground equipment, and a large lawn garden.It was fun to travel for three generations.Thank you very much.

A very spacious and affordable place in a nice traditional style house. The hosts were really helpful especially in sourcing a cot for us ASAP when we discovered there wasn’t one (an airbnb translation issue, not their fault). It’s a good base to explore from by car but the immediate area doesn’t have much open outside of the summer (except for an excellent tiny Taiwanese place right round the corner!)

The Maneki Machiya staff were extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking process. Our unit happened to be named "Cozy" but "cozy" is the best way to describe not only the houses themselves but also the nature of staying in this quieter, calmer part of Kyoto. The rooms are laid out very smartly and charmingly; a wonderful place to come back to after a long day of temple visits and river walks.

We stayed here this time and we all loved it and felt like we could get a better experience of the local life in Japan!Getting along with the dogs also makes a special memory, and the dogs were very tame to stay with us while we were in the living room, and would play with us, not scared at all.The house was kept clean and I could even walk barefoot on the floor without much dust.The house was beautiful in the house, also beautiful in the garden, and we really enjoyed the time after the end of the day with a laugh in the living room while the kids ran up and down to play!Thank you very much for your hospitality☺️

11 adults and 1 child, 12 of us stayed.There was an outdoor BBQ, basket goal (there was also a ball), badminton, swing, playing cards, uno, karaoke, fully automatic mahjong table, and we were able to play a lot even for a large group. Bath towels, hand towels, and toothbrushes are also provided. The room is adjacent, so you can hear the voices of the next room. There were two rice cookers in the large kitchen and plenty of dishes and silverware.However, there was no lightweight cup for rice, so I recommend bringing it with you. The inside was cleaned beautifully, and I had a very fulfilling stay for 3 days.I want to use it again when I go to Tochigi Prefecture!!

Amazingly beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There’s 1 walkable ramen noodle place within 5 minutes, numerous vending machines around, beach is literally 5 minutes or less walking distance. Feels like your own private beach. Spectacular views from the bedroom and tub. I advised you to make sure to use street view on Google maps so you are aware what street to look for when near. Google maps took me a few hundred feet away from the address. Would not recommend a huge vehicle as it’s a small narrow street with cars parked on the side. There is a bit of a steep hill but don’t worry your vehicle will go up it just find. I used a Honda fit and had no issues. Nearby are some castle ruins, about 3 minutes away (left turn from the bus stop/vending machine.) Costco is 6 minutes away by vehicle if you are needing supplies. Most ramen places close around 2:30 -3:30 pm. Host was amazing, place was clean and amazing. I would like to come back on my next trip.

Unfortunately it was raining, but I was able to make fun memories with my friends in a spacious and beautiful room.They also handled the check-in time very kindly.I'd love to have the opportunity to have the opportunity again if I have the opportunity.

It’s a nice and super convenient house in hakone, the house is right next door to one of the best restaurants in Hakone for bbq. Both indoor and outdoor hot spring is super nice. Room is cozy. And the best feature was the kitchen’s wear!! The stove is really nicely done and all the equipment is very nice. The bathroom also equipped with Dyson hair dyers and all the dental and vanity sets. It shows the house owner really cares about us to provide a luxury 5 star experience. Everything is extremely cozy with luxury touch.

It was a renovated property, but it was very spacious and clean, and I felt the old and inconvenient, and I had a comfortable stay. It is on a wide road, and there is plenty of space for parking, so there is room for a mini van for families. The dog run was also spacious, so the dog didn't have to do bad indoors. I was worried about the bugs because it was winter. The surroundings are quiet both day and night, and there are not many streets and traffic. There was a convenience store and a set meal restaurant and a Western restaurant that everyone could go to, and it was convenient to walk to the beach and downtown. It was very appreciated that they took care of the check-in time because they had children. The host was also quick to respond to messages, so I was relieved to have a smooth resolution when there was an issue here. They can also dispose of garbage and change sheets, so it was very good to keep it clean. It was also thanks to the fact that we stayed here and had a stress-free and relaxing time. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you very much.

**Ski Chalet in Hakuba** Our group had an absolutely amazing three-night stay at Chika’s chalet in Hakuba! From start to finish, everything was perfect, and we couldn't have asked for a better home base for our ski trip. The location is incredibly convenient—just steps away from the free Happo One ski resort shuttle, making it effortless to hit the slopes each day. The chalet itself is cozy, warm, and beautifully designed, offering the perfect retreat after long days in the snow. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals, and the bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained. Beyond the chalet, the proximity to downtown Hakuba was a huge bonus. Bars, restaurants, and grocery stores were all within easy reach, and ski rentals at SPICY ECHOLAND made gearing up for the mountains a breeze. Whether it was grabbing a bite after skiing or stocking up on essentials, everything was conveniently located.

Excellent place for a hideout from the city noise! Comfy place with spacious rooms! Very satisfying!

It was very clean and we really enjoyed it in a short distance to the sea. I would definitely stay again because I can stay with pets.

A very large and warm house that easily suits a group of family and friends. The hosts were super friendly. They waited to meet us till late, suggested us to some local attractions, explained everything in the house, and welcomed us heart-fully. The place is well equipped and organised. Back garden large enough for couple of vehicle parkings. Front garden was well maintained (they offered us some freshly planted mustard). Check out is a breeze and they even brought their two dogs and a cat to meet us. Thus the name House of Tailwaggers! Highly recommend!

It is a great location with a 7 eleven right in front, the train station is super close, there’s a bunch of restaurants near by if u don’t necessarily want to go in the city. The apartment is about 30-40 minutes from major attractions in the city which is super doable and it’s a lot quieter than in the city. Also the apartment is super cute, super clean and the host is absolutely amazing. If you are a first timer in japan and have difficulty with japanese Jubabe can help.

This spot is very peaceful and the beach nearby is super lovely, we had a car with us while staying so it was easier to get around. We loved spending time in the house it was a very comfortable stay!
