“It's a great appartment with everything we needed. We could use the washingmachine which was very nice. Paul mailed clear instructions regarding check-in and route. When we arrived there were fresh fruit and chocolates in the kitchen. In the livingrooms a lot of tips what to do in the area. The apartment is a 10 minute walk to the cozy city center and there are 3 big supermarkets on walking distance. We met Paul later in the days we were there to meet us en check if everything was okay, very friendly.”
A pretty, stylish and cosy cottage set in a quiet woodland location nestled alongside the banks of scenic Kenmare Bay. 11 Sheen Woods is surrounded by beautifully landscaped private gardens, and is a 10 minute picturesque stroll from Kenmare town centre with its award winning restaurants, traditional pubs, pretty shops and boutiques.
“We loved staying in Kenmare at 11 Sheen Woods. It was so spacious, perfect for our group of 4 adults but you could definitely get a 5th person in there easily too. The cottage was charming and had everything we needed. We loved staying in Kenmare. The town is great, with such friendly people and plenty of shopping and dining options. It is beautiful too. Really wonderful just to walk around or you can make the loop on the Beara ring. Don't skip Healy's Pass though, it was spectacular! I would not hesitate to book 11 Sheen Woods again in the future.”
Our home (a working farm) and The Cottages at are nestled beneath Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil. We are situated on the famous Kerry Way walking route and in the heart of the Reeks District. The collection of houses were some of the last in Ireland to be connected to the electricity grid (in 1978) due to their isolated location in one of Ireland’s most unspoiled valleys on the edge of the Killarney National Park.
“A truly incredible airbnb experience. The black valley might be one of the prettiest spots in the whole of Ireland. The location, while a good 20 mins off the beaten path, is centrally located so that you can easily make day trips along the ring of Kerry, the Dingle peninsula, and/or Killarney National Park. If you decide to stay closer to the cottage, however, there is much to see and do even if the weather isn't as inspiring as you'd like. Ailish provides details about nearby walks that take you to vista's other tourist could only dream of. And for those with a more adventurous spirit, the cottage is at the foot of Carruntoohill and Hags Tooth Ridge. Advice on getting there. We had a Renault Megane hatchback, and it was adequate, even in the foul weather. But a 4wd or something with more ground clearance would probably be better. This is not unique to this property, however, as there were multiple times on our journey around Ireland where we loathed being low to the ground. There are surprise bumps and dirt roads throughout the country, and often they are too the most exciting places; like Anam V! My advice would be a diesel Dacia Duster. We drove one around Iceland last year and it was economical, easy to navigate on small roads, and capable off road. You must try to stay here if in Ireland. The cottage is very well appointed, Ailish has covered every single base, the vistas are to die for, oh and the fresh bread and jam provided is delicious!! Thank you Ailish!”
