The chalet is 5 minutes’ walk of the seashore, with numerous beaches nearby. The closest shop is 3 minutes’ walk away and a pub, a supermarket and a post-office are all within 15 minutes’ walk. We are near An Spidéal, where you can find cafés, pubs, shops, restaurants, pharmacies, a medical centre, and a craft village. Located in the heart of the Irish-speaking Gaeltacht, near Galway City, and on the Wild Atlantic Way, we are in an ideal location to explore Conamara and the Aran Islands.
“A special place on a lane that ends at the bay/Irish Sea. Fantastic stroll down the lane finds you at the edge of the water where you can stand on the boulders and gaze to the distant shores. Or, walk/drive into Spiddal and enjoy the camaraderie of locals and tourists alike while you dine on local fare and listen to stirring Irish musicians. Easy drive to Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey as well. We can’t wait to return!”
Charming self catering cottage, situated west of Galway city and within walking distance of the quaint village Spiddal. With Connemara, the Burren and the Aran Islands on your doorstep why not have Cloch Na Scith as your base for your Irish adventure. Mentioned in Frommers Ireland/Lonely Planet/Michelin Guide/ The Rough Guide/ Travel 101/ Le Guide du Routard. Regretfully the cottage is not suitable for children.
“Travelled with a group of 4 girls and we LOVED Nancy's cottage. She was so welcoming and willing to help, and the space is exactly as pictured. It was winter, so it was a bit cold of course, but the scenery was still breathtaking. The full kitchen was helpful as well. The only problem we had was transportation - it is a bit more difficult to navigate the bus system than expected and taxis were very expensive, if willing to drive this far out at all.”
We are on the "Wild Atlantic Way" The house is situated beside a historical fishing harbour,20 meters from the atlantic ocean. There is direct acces to the water, for swimming, walking, collecting mussels and fishing. you can also rent a rowing boat.
“If you want a one-of-a-kind experience while you’re traveling along the Wild Atlantic Way, look no further than Gabi’s place. The guest house is immaculately clean, equipped with everything you need and more. We visited around Christmas and the house was adorably decorated and cozy. Gabi is so joyful, and we got so lucky as a bunch of “kids” had just been born, so we were able to hang out with baby goats! One of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back someday!”
