Lovely couple of nights in the cottage . Tastfully decorated, well stocked with all you would need. Rose and Ian are excellent hosts and went out of their way to answer any questions and help out in a rather difficult situation. The cottage and main house were very sweet and well placed for visiting local areas in the Scottish borders and Northumberland. You can tell that your hosts had spent time in France and the accommodation reflects this. We loved the underfloor heating and how responsive Rose was to our toddler granddaughters needs. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Apple tree Cottage and especially the hosts.

Great place to stay if you're visiting the area and comfortable gaffe for our 9 day stay. The local village of Paxton also has a great pub with a cozy atmosphere and nice food

My wife and I have just returned home after a 3-night break at The Curfew Retreat. It’s a lovely spacious property where the owners have thought of everything. The place is clean and comfortable and well-situated for the town. The pub downstairs was lively for the bank holiday weekend, but didn’t bother us at all. In fact, we may have had one or two pints there ourselves! We can also recommend the Turkish restaurant next door where we had a very nice meal. We wouldn’t hesitate going back or recommending it to others. The only constructive criticism we have is that we would have liked bigger bath towels - we’re not the biggest in the world, but struggled to make them meet in the middle! All-in-all, a great place for a short break.

trish was a great host, she was very friendly and gave us a welcome package which including a few breakfast essentials and a bottle of wine which went down a treat. cottage was spacious, very clean and felt at home. great location just outside berwick upon tweed, very quiet and easy to find. great value for money would highly recommend and would go back again.
