The Stables offers the perfect retreat for romantic couples, families and friends wanting both peace and quiet as well as easy access to either Perth or Dundee or Glenshee. Are you working in the Dundee or Perth areas for a few nights, several weeks or even longer? Would you like the space, comfort and convenience of a home in a beautiful rural location? Some of the adjoining barns were demolished and a walled garden was created in their place. The house has lots of traditional character while also being bright and comfortable.
  • We had a really wonderful week. The Air BnB is the perfect getaway for walks and relaxation. Michael was so welcoming and really helpful with advising things to do and places to visit. The property has everything you need and we really enjoyed exploring the woodland area of the estate; we particularly enjoyed the deer and red squirrels we saw every day! The Cairngorms are only a short drive away and there are so many outdoor activities on the door step. A perfect getaway to explore the highlands with a very kind and friendly host.

  • The cottage is a well-thought out renovation that maximises the amenity of the 3 bedrooms - each with its own ensuite. Wishing we had more time to explore the local area, there its quite a bit of history, with Roman bridges and fields with lots of pheasants wondering around.

The Loft is close to the amenities of Blairgowrie but very quiet and isolated on a hill top with spectacular views. It is also a midge free place with lots of swallows and house martins.
Zip and Link double/twin beds in bedroom and double sofa bed in large open plan living/dining room/ kitchen. All linen and towels provided. There is a log burning stove with a good supply of logs.
We love living on a working farm right on the edge of the Highlands, with mountains, rivers, lochs, stunning views, rich history, peace and quiet but very accessible.

  • We booked last minute for a quick escape up to Scotland- and this place surpassed our expectations! It is a brilliant space, and great value, comfortably sleeping 4 adults. When we arrived, the woodburner was already lit and we were cozy for the weekend! The space is beautifully renovated, excellently furnished, and the kitchen well-supplied. there are plenty of beautiful walks on the doorstep (which our dog loved too) and we even got a day's skiing in at Glenshee nearby! We really hope to be back soon!

    Esther2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great few days at the Loft. Lovely accommodation and very cosy with the fire lit. We enjoyed local walks, and had plenty of opportunity to read and escape! Thank you very much for having us.

  • Wow this place is amazing. Bette than in the pics and I thought the pics looked good. It's so cozy and unique. The view and surrounding area stunning. The facilities are great. The kitchen is so well equipped and there are lots of nice homely features. The log burner is great. So easy to use and there is ample wood supplied. The shower is great, powerful and hot. The bed is sooooooo comfy and the bedroom was heated with just an electric heater but it was so warm and cozy even when it was below freezing outside. It's also in a great location , just 5 minutes from a good size town , but also far out enough to hit some great walks and countryside from your doorstep. Lachlan took the time to show us around too and is very friendly. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone

Situated on a working farm in an elevated position above the Vale of Strathmore, Ardormie Farm Cottage is an ideal base to relax and explore this wonderful area of Scotland. The cottage is light and airy with open views over the countryside.
A cottage in the countryside with wide open views. Ardormie Farm Cottage is cosy in the winter and has a great little patio for sitting outside in the summer. Everything you need is right here; a double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower overhead, cosy sitting/dining room and a little kitchen fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and all you need to make your stay just perfect. We have just installed a new biomass boiler so the heating is provided from an entirely renewable energy source. Radiators have been fitted throughout and there is a thermostatic temperature control so you can set the temperature to suit. There is a washer/drier and outside in the steading the wood pellet boiler is heating a drying room which you are welcome to use for any wet outdoor gear. The cottage is on a working farm. There are sheep, cattle and working sheep dogs.. The surrounding countryside is what you would expect of rural Perthshire - mountains, lochs, stunning views, rich history, peace and quiet. This is a great place to be based as there is much to explore. The place is yours to enjoy. I live next door and I'm really happy to help with any questions you may have, there is also lots of local information available in the cottage. Although, sometimes I'm not at home, maybe I'm off staying in an Airbnb somewhere else!
We are fortunate enough to live in a beautiful little corner of North East Perthshire. This is very much a rural community with farms, friendly neighbours and a sense of openness. There are often local events in nearby Kilry Village Hall from the annual fete to the regular pop up T-Junction cafe. The Isla Parishes Church is just up the road and visitors are always made to feel welcome at the weekly service at 10am on Sundays.
  • Ardormie Farm Cottage is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of today’s busy world. Communication with Jill was easy and informative. The cottage is beautiful, very well decorated and sparklingly clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. We stayed just prior to the Coronavirus lockdown and enjoyed the solitude that the cottage offered. We would definitely stay here again and intend to book as soon as the lockdown is over. Thank you.

Balintore Castle has been extending her magical hospitality to guests since 1860. The building is located in a remote Angus Glen: offering direct access to hill walking, mountain biking, bird-watching and shooting. The kitchen wing accommodation has been lovingly and newly restored in keeping with the high Victorian character of the building. Professional catering for evening meal and/or breakfast is available: see menus in the photos. Tea & coffee making supplies and facilities are available.
The holiday accommodation is located in the kitchen wing of the castle. This is the first area that has been brought to full habitability in the initial phase of a restoration program that started in 2007. Accommodation costs will be entirely directed towards further restoration of the castle.
Glamis Castle is 10 miles away. The Glenshee skiing resort is 25 miles away.
  • You're staying in a castle. What more is there to say.

    John2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The best time we get in this castle! Thank you David! Everything was amazing!

    Анна2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Balintore Castle enough. It is one of the most incredible places to stay. It is in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish highlands overlooking some of the most beautiful landscapes imaginable. The castle is incredible with a host to match. When you stay there you truly feel as though you stepped back in time yet still retain all the modern conveniences of an airbnb. The rooms were spacious and well furnished. The floors were heated and the bathroom had a gigantic tub. The food was delicious and there was even wifi out in the middle of nowhere. David the host went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and even gave us an in depth tour of what he was working on in the unfinished portion of the house. If you're visiting Scotland and want to see its more rugged wild side, book your stay at Balintore. You won't regret it.

    Jason2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience! Such a treat to stay in Balintore Castle and David was a wonderful host. Felt welcome right away and so fortunate to be living the life of a real Scottish Laird and Lady for two nights. The castle and views are just magical. A truly great experience all around.

    Amanda2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful castle to discover absolutely! David is an excellent host, he has discovered us his universe and has managed to project us in a life of Chatelain. I'm recommending 100%!

    Marion2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, friend, and I stayed at Balintore for 2 nights in February. We had an absolutely terrific time! The restored kitchen wing has everything you could need - three well-appointed bedrooms, a large bathroom, a kitchenette, and a large dining room/sitting room. It was very clean and thoughtfully decorated. The tour of the derelict portion of the castle that the owner is restoring was fascinating and highly recommended. We also did both the dinner and breakfast catering and found both to be excellent (Viv the chef's chewy pavlova dessert was particularly delicious!). David was very responsive to all of our inquiries. The castle is very remote and definitely isn't your typical AirBnB, but the listing and reviews are incredibly accurate so if you like what you read, don't hesitate to book it!

    Richard2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I thank David for his excellent welcome, his castle is simply magnificent. Our best time in Scotland since our arrival. We even preferred a visit to his castle to a visit to Edinburgh Castle. Our arrival with the snow was epic and will be remembered for a long time. The rooms are perfect, the dinner excellent. David renovates this castle with taste and we will do everything to return to see the progress of this one. An exciting enthusiast! Looking forward to seeing him again

    Cathy2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding place to stay - what a magical experience. This was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. David was an exemplary host with a passion and commitment to restoring the castle to its former glory. The castle was beautiful and the insights into its restoration was a highlight. We loved our stay. There were 6 adults in our group and there was plenty of room Would highly recommend to everyone!

This beautifully appointed, spacious cottage is light and airy yet delightfully snug in winter. Explore the lovely surrounding Perthshire countryside or simply relax and enjoy the space. Lose yourself in the gorgeous scenery, hills, lochs and so much more...and hire our new electric bikes for fun local day trips or enjoy skiing at Glenshee in the winter, only 45mins away. Shorter stays of 3/4 nights are available. Sorry no children or dogs.
This is a great place to relax in for your holiday - the cottage is in a lovely rural location in the counrtyside yet you are 5 minutes from the small town of Blairgowrie and on the edge of the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The cottage has everything you could wish for and is well appointed and extremely comfortable. There is a double bedroom up a small flight of stairs. A large double height kitchen & living space means you have plenty of space to spread out and relax and a generous shower room with underfloor heating and rain shower completes your comfort. Please note there is no bathtub. Please note that we are in a very rural location, 300m down a bumpy farm track. Take extra care for the bottom of your car and drive slow....and do not expect the high life! The cottage does have the feel of a romantic get away though and we have had engagements and honeymooners as testament to this. We now also have two electric assist bicycles available to hire. The electric battery helps you power up the hills which is a joy. There are lots of places for amazing day trips and we provide helmets, instructions and insurance at a cost per day of £40 for two bikes.
This area of Perthshire is stunningly pretty. We are nestled in the foothills of the Highlands and just up from the cottage there are great views south towards the Dundee hills and beyond. We are well placed for some lovely day trips - Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews are all between 1-1 1/2hrs from us, accessible by car and train. There are lots of outdoor pursuits on the doorstep from walking to kayaking, fishing, golf (we are 40mins from world famous Gleneagles Hotel and 5 minutes from Rosemount in Blairgowrie) and cycling to name a few. Blairgowrie is 5 minutes away and is an old market town with all local amenities including a large Tescos for groceries but also 2 good butchers, a fishmonger and several restaurants.
  • The most beautiful, tasteful and relaxing airbnb stay I have had, I would highly recommend - I'd like to live here!

  • We stood for 4 nights in the amazing comfy Rose cottage to relax and use it as starting point for hikings and day Trips. We really want to come back!

Claire's communication was fantastic throughout, check in and out was so easy and nothing was to much trouble dor claire.. We had such a lovely experience/holiday at Rose cottage and would love to revisit again and thank you claire for having us. Regards Lynne and Carl

  • Rose Cottage was our perfect idea of a 'getaway' for Christmas. Located in an ideal location where you are both out in the country but also near a town if you may need anything. With fantastic scenic walks in the local area we didn't need to travel far, and the gas fire and cosy sofa were fantastic to come back to. Claire was a great host adding little touches for when we arrived and giving us all the info we may need prior to our arrival. We will definitely be returning in the future!

    Matthew2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is perfect for a peaceful and comfortable getaway. We spent 4 nights in this wonderful cottage and greeted with a warm host, with amenities that exceeded our expectation. It even has a washing machine and diswasher. The gas-heated fireplace was an additional bous, perfect for this cold weather.

    Rhea2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rose cottage is a beautiful cottage in gorgeous surroundings and our host Claire, couldn’t have been more helpful. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you’ll need. It heats up very quickly with the heaters and the cosy fire, so great when you’ve been out fishing/walking all day. We were delighted to hear owls at night and see red squirrels playing in the trees. All in all, a wonderful cottage with a very helpful host. Will definitely stay again.

    Julia2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Rose Cottage. Claire and Alex were such thoughtful hosts and made us feel very welcome and at home. We don't have a car and did almost everything by foot (with a few trips done via local taxi). This worked perfectly and the walk into Blairgowrie is easy enough and very scenic (45 mins). The immediate surroundings are really beautiful and we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything by staying in the nearby area. Would highly recommend the cottage even if you don't have a car. The cottage itself is super cosy and warm, perfect for days in. Overall a great stay and incredibly relaxing, couldn't recommend it enough!

    David2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fairy Tale Cottage Exceeds Our Expectations - the photos don’t do this cottage justice. An absolutely beautiful yet cozy cottage surrounded by stunning landscape. A short drive from numerous attractions yet secluded enough that you feel like you’ve really gotten away from it all. Claire was a thoughtful and considerate host, checking in, yet giving us plenty of privacy. Any questions we had, before our stay and during, were promptly addressed. So much thought was put into making this a wonderful holiday stay. A large wall map of the local area plus 2 drawers full of maps and brochures made it easy to plan each day’s outing. We loved the decor and all of the modern conveniences. Heated floors, a cozy gas fireplace and deep sofa to sink into almost made leaving the cottage for sightseeing a chore. :-) And the cottage is so aptly named; we could see roses from every window! We hope to one day return to Scotland and Rose Cottage is a must stay for us!

  • We were looking for a wee place within easy reach of Glenshee to take our son on a birthday trip to the snow. The Neuk was much bigger than we expected and furnished to a very comfortable standard with lovely wee touches all over to make it extra special! Loved the tea, coffee, milk and juice waiting our arrival. The place was spotless and we all loved it! Had the weather been better we would have made more use of the fabulous enclosed back garden. Highly recommend and Elaine is a fab host.

    Chiara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine is a great host and the house is amazing. Elaine was very responsive when needed and the house was very clean with great amenities. I went with my children and they loved it. We would definitely comeback

    Maher2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a very comfortable two nights at Elaine's place with my family. Booked last minute the night before we travelled and we weren't disappointed with anything. The weather was pretty bad so it was great to have such a nice base for a couple of relaxing days. We made good use of the fire to keep us warm from the storm outside. Everything we needed was provided, and it was helpful that there was practical things like a high chair and a few games/books for our son to use. We weren't in the garden much due to the weather but it was pleasant and in summertime will be another plus for the house. The surrounding area is nice with a good amount of stuff to do within a short drive. Peel Farm just up the road from the house was nice for brunch.

  • Great place. Immaculately clean, super host with added touches. Very nice biscuits

    Sharon2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine's place was perfect, a very short walk away from a stunning waterfall which allowed us to get out and about very easily on our short break. The cottage was absolutely stunning as well. Really high quality and it was so clean that it felt like we were the first people to stay there. We did geta little lost when trying to find the place as the Sat nav took us to Kilry hall and it meant that we kept missing the sign marked out in the instructions. If this happens to you you turn right after the hall and it is at the end of the road next to the t junction with a sign to Alyth.

Millbank Cottage is located in Rosemount, a very peaceful place on outskirts of Blairgowrie. This over 120 years old building has recently been transformed into a cosy one bedroom house, with a light and airy kitchen living space. Outside of the house is a two car parking spot and a large garden.
The bedroom can be set with either one king size bed or two single beds. In the living room is a comfy sofa bed for two guests.
The cottage is located in a very quiet area, around 20 min walking distance to the town centre.
  • Lovely, clean property. The bus stops right outside the property so convenient for going into Blairgowrie, Perth and Dundee. The store cupboard items were a lovely touch

  • Highly recommend Louise's place, it's a stunning, peaceful location, really wild and great place to get away to. Love the spot next to the beavers and we found it really cosy with the stove and hot water bottles :)

  • Lovely quiet spot in the forest next to amazing beaver pools. Great to chat to Louis and Paul about their re wilding project. Such a great space to support as well as a great space to enjoy some time out in! Thank you for the quick last minute check in too!

    Emily2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience - everything you want and more! Despite the fact it rained from start to finish we felt right at home :) We will be returning! What a fabulous weekend away with no phone reception surrounded by wilderness :)

    Naomi2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute must for silence and wildlife lovers. There is everything you need in there and the shower is incredible. Will definitely go back !

    Sébastien2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Although the accommodation in Hideaway is very basic that is part of it's charm. The separate shower worked very well with plenty of hot water, and the composting toilet although a little walk from the cottage was also fine. We needed to use the log burner but had no trouble lighting it as a starter kit was provided. We came to the hideaway to see the beavers, and we did , so we went away happy. It was very rainy during our stay, and quite muddy underfoot in places, so a good pair of wellies was essential. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return next summer.

    Briony2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal for an off-grid escape, lovely hosts and beavers just down from the cabin 🤩

    Elsa2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The beauty is all around you and you feel immersed in it. Tucked away on the edge of woodland and next to water, it simply is habitat heaven. The hideaway is spacious, comfortable but also it's simplicity is just perfect. We really did not want to leave.

    Laura2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is just as advertised, with its back to woods and facing north onto the river. The outdoor rainwater shower is really impressive - good flow and actually had to turn it cooler. And our first use of a compost loo without any problems - no smell, no flies! The cabin is basic as expected, but has all we needed for a relaxing break, with a very comfy bed. Enjoyed spotting the beavers - very interesting to see the impact of their efforts on the land. Good to chat with the hosts as well, who have embraced rewilding with a passion!

  • Being hosted by Karen and John is like visiting family, even for one night, and rushing on the morning as we were! We felt immediately at ease, and we were very glad that they accepted to share their warm home with us. The house is newly renovated, lovely decoration, simple and subtile at the same time. The room was just perfect, enormous and comfy bed, small thoughtful details like fresh fruits, tea, and travel kit, view on the garden and the countryside. The breakfast was one of the best we tasted in Scotland, the hospitality of them both is remarquable. We can’t wait coming back and take more time at Braeburn! We wish them a lot of success in their project! More than recommended address, worth making a detour!

  • What a gem! Cosy cottage with beautiful furnishings and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Quiet spot. Convenient to Perth. The cleanest Airbnb we've stayed in. Sally is a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend!!

    Sandra2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's instructions were great, from getting to the cottage, checking in and even using the fire. Sally's communication was prompt and helpful. The cottage had everything we needed and was very cosy, especially with the fire on. The main bedroom was very big and the bed very comfortable so slept really well.

    Selena2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful, so nice and cosy. Loved the wood burner and watching the dancing flames, so warm. It was immaculate, very fresh and clean. Sally was a great host, very friendly and helpful. She helped us arrange a taxi from our wedding venue - a friendly and punctual driver. The raspberry jam is delicious, the flavour just explodes in your mouth - reminded me of my granny’s. We had an absolutely gorgeous long weekend, so peaceful and tranquil with an open view of the countryside and hills. You just couldn’t help relax, hopefully we will return in the future and do more exploring in Perthshire and Tayside. Fabulous accommodation.

    Kirsty2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s place is a real gem. Tucked away in a small village, quiet and peaceful for a getaway. The log fire was a real treat and enjoyed working it too. Sally and her partner were really friendly and quick to respond if we had any questions. Definitely looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

    Laura2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s place is great value and perfect for a quiet few days. We stayed for two nights and would happily book again if returning to the area. A car is needed but Sally makes sure you know where to go and there’s easy parking at the door. The log fire was great and easy to use and the whole house was absolutely spotless. Perth and Dundee are about 15 minutes away and the antiques centre at Abernyte is well worth a visit.

Welcome to Sunnyhall Cottage Bothy! The Bothy is a small, but perfectly formed, newly renovated residence. Set in the beautiful area of Lundie, this little dwelling is full of charm and personality. It sits alongside our own cottage so as well as having the privacy of your own self catering living space, there is usually someone about should you have any questions or require any assistance. The setting is tranquil, with beautiful walks but it is also within easy reach of Dundee and Perth.
The Bothy is at the end of a private road so there is no passing traffic and plenty car parking space. We do have dogs and they are often just out and about working away with us. We have three Cocker Spaniels (very friendly) and two Pyrenean Sheepdogs (fairly timid but they can bark at strangers). We welcome dogs but as this is a very small house, we would prefer you to provide us with details prior to booking. The Bothy has a comfortable living space/kitchen area, complete with a wood burner, TV, cooker/microwave and fridge freezer. There is a large shower area and the bedroom has a comfortable king size bed. There is a small storage room, perfect for boots and jackets and next to the central heating boiler, just in case you need to dry anything off. There is no washing machine but our own machine can be used on request. WiFi is now available in The Bothy.
This is a very special area, close to town yet off the beaten track. Wildlife is literally on our doorstep. We regularly see roe deer, red squirrels and ospreys in the fields, woodland and loch areas. In this area there is something for all. Go walking in the surrounding area or the beautiful Angus Glens. Glamis Castle and grounds are a short drive away. Visit attractions in Dundee such as the V & A, the RRS Discovery or Verdant Works. Visit Broughty Ferry and enjoy traditional music at The Fisherman’s Tavern on a Thursday evening, enjoy one of the many restaurants or indulge in fish and chips or ice cream sitting by the beach. For the golfing enthusiast, there are many courses in the area. The championship courses at Carnoustie, St Andrews and Gleneagles are all within reach by car. Auchterhouse Country sports is a five minute drive away and offers Clay Pigeon Shooting, Quad Bike Trecks and Archery. Information on local attractions and amenities will be in The Bothy.
  • Isolated retreat with good walking areas close by. Dog friendly! Inside was nicely furnished with everything that you could need, log burner kept place cosy at night.

  • Lovely place to stay

    Dean2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the cottage, it is clean, cosy, well equipped and very charming. We were able to have a look around the farm, our young son loved looking out for the cows each morning. There were lots of facilities in the cottage for him (travel cot, highchair, books and toys) which made our stay much easier. We were visiting family in Alyth which is about 10 minutes away, so the location is great, and is very quiet with lovely scenery. We will definitely come to stay again!

  • We spent a few days with four plus two little babies in Debbies Cottage and really enjoyed the time! The cottage is super comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped and even made firewood for the fireplace. The cottage is located right on a road but is completely enclosed by a hedge and a fence and after a few meters on the road you can turn on dirt roads between the sheep and cow meadows. Also, the Cateran Trail goes for hiking right past the farm and just a mile away along the road leads to a great waterfall. The communication with Debbie was great! Great host, great cottage, gladly again!

  • Wonderfully located for access to many beautiful walks and visits. We enjoyed easy access to Glenshee, Scone Palace, Dundee and Broughty Ferry beach. The weather was warm and the cottage retained a comfortable coolness through the night. We were very comfortable in the lounge area and the Kitchen is well set up for all your cooking needs. With two bedrooms available, the one we used had a very comfortable bed in which we slept extremely well. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and were genuinely saddened to leave.

  • We had a lovely stay in Debbie's cottage : spacious, clean and comfortable. A good location to explore Perthshire. We recommend this place if you want to spend some time in Perth and Kinross and like a quiet place in the countryside.

'The Howff' is a refurbished farm worker's bothy in a rural location with lots of walks and access to beautiful parts of Perthshire. One hour's drive from Edinburgh, 20 mins Dundee or Perth. This authentic bothy contains one room with single bed, wood burning stove, mini kitchen unit with fridge, oven, portable hob and kettle, separate shower room, wc, basin. Linen, towels, logs included. Although small, The Howff is warm and cosy and makes a perfect retreat. Please note for ONE only.
This is totally unique but please make sure you have read the description of the space.
The neighbourhood is well known for its connection with Macbeth and the bothy is on the lower slopes of Dunsinane Hill made famous by Shakespeare. Magnificent views from the top.
  • I work for the a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and I was really struggling to find accommodation to provide emergency fire cover due to the corona virus, with most hotels closing. I contacted Jeanie to see if she was available for emergency key workers. She kindly allowed me to stay at the bothy. It was perfect and centrally located for me to cover the Dundee and Perth shire Area. It's remoteness was ideal and gave a great base to work and respond to the incidents I attended. The bothy is a perfect space, spotless and had everything I needed. Jeanie is a wonderful host and made me feel most welcome. Thankyou.

  • Just a perfect space to rest and work! Really well equipped and surprisingly spacious. Would highly recommend! Satnav may take you to the wrong place using the autogenerated map though so be sure to follow Jeanie's instructions! It is a few miles through Balbeggie set up on the lower hillside below an impressive crag. Cant recommend this enough. Excellent value and a fab host!

    Emma2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 3 weeks to do some writing and I can honestly say it was AMAZING. Jeanie has provided everything you need - a cosy room with a bed, kitchen, bathroom, desk and a little wood burner that kept it all warm during some very wintry storms! The area is absolutely fantastic and is extremely inspirational to get those artistic fires burning; there are some beautiful walks in the woods and up the Sidlaws. It's also only a short drive to Dundee or Perth, or Edinburgh (about an hour) where there are cinemas, museums and so on. Jeanie is a brilliant host, she was there when I needed and made herself scarce when I was in the writing flow. She had lots of recommendations for walks or things to see and do if I needed a break from writing. She has a lovely little dog too which is always an added bonus! I honestly can't recommend this place enough if you need somewhere to write, be creative or just need some peace and quiet away from everyday life. It's perfect.

A cosy, charming house that is welcoming and comfortable. There is a lovely rural feel to the house whilst it is situated in a small town and handy to amenities. Tastefully furnished living areas include a spacious new fitted kitchen/dining room with modern appliances. The small garden provides a sheltered and private outdoor space. The view from the east facing windows is straight onto the Alyth Burn and childrens' play park, and the local shops are easily accessed in minutes.
The house is full of vintage charm. It is over 200 years old and we have tried to keep much of the original charm whilst updating it to be comfortable for 21st century relaxing. There is space for 9 people as long as you are happy to occasionally queue for access to the single bathroom. The kitchen is perfect for sociable evenings and the living room has ample space for stretching out after a long walk. We have recently fitted a wood burning stove in the sitting room, which adds an extra element of comfort and cosiness. The ambience in the house is peaceful and it works its charming personality on all who stay. There are shabby chic elements. The bedroom floors are uneven with various surfaces. Slippers are recommended. Please note that Endrigg is situated in a quiet residential area. It is not a party venue, and we request that guests refrain from making excessive noise outside after 10:00 PM
The house is sited in the centre of Alyth which is a busy and traditional Perthshire village. The play park is at the rear of the house. There are butcher's, baker's and small supermarkets within walking distance as well as pubs serving good food. The situation gives you the best of village convenience with rural hills and gorgeous walks just outside the village.
  • Our time in Alyth was definitely a high point of our trip. We enjoyed the location of the home and the quietness of the town. The local pub was a recommendation and the Sunday night live music was a treat! The park across the burn was entertaining, as the people were constantly changing - from little kids to teens and dog walkers. LOVED IT! This is a big home with plenty of space to relax. The wood stove took the September chill out of the air and made for a relaxing way to wind down from a busy day. Being able to do laundry was an unexpected bonus. This property has everything a large group would require. A perfect "home base" as you explore. Jim & Lisa September 2019

  • This is a great house for a family holiday with nice comfortable accommodation, a big well equipped kitchen and lovely comfy sitting room. The beds are all comfy, it’s clean and not too perfect which makes it relaxing - the slightly shabby but charming decor makes it a nice easy place to be. It’s also in a great location with shops, chip shop and pubs round the corner - but it’s down a side street with a burn running behind it so very peaceful too. Alyth and the surrounding area are lovely - lots to do in the region including mountain bike hire and a great network of off road routes to explore. Would thoroughly recommend this place!

ECO-FRIENDLY / ORGANIC / RURAL The Attic is a cosy, self contained studio designed to help you relax and unwind - curling up by the wood burning stove or enjoying the rural views from the wood fired hot tub in the garden. It is also a great base for exploring and adventuring. We provide a simple breakfast (vegan/GF available) in The Attic kitchen. We are passionate about providing an eco-friendly experience for you - organic and locally sourced items wherever possible.
The Attic is a self contained studio within Aikenhead House - a unique country house and small-holding 3 miles from Blairgowrie. A perfect romantic, peaceful getaway. The Attic has a super kingsize bed (or two single beds), seating area, woodburning stove, kitchen and upstairs loo with additional private shower facilities downstairs. There is a wood fired hot tub in the garden that guests can use - we just need 4 hours notice to get it hot and ready for you. Views from The Attic to both the east and west allow you to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. As it is a converted attic there are areas where the roof height is restricted (max. 2m/6ft7inch). The staircase up to The Attic are steep so care needs to be taken when on the steps.
We are in a rural location. Blairgowrie is our local town (3 miles away) and you can find local shops plus a Sainsburys and Tesco. Dunkeld is also close (8 miles) and is a very pretty town with a historic cathedral and great cafes. We can provide maps for local scenic drives, walks, cycles and can recommend the best places to picnic etc. Aikenhead House is a great base to explore Perthshire, Angus and The Glens, The Cairngorms National Park, Aviemore, Fife, day trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow plus many local lochs, castles and distilleries. We are 40 minutes from the Glenshee Ski range.
  • The Attic @ Aikenhead was the perfect place to get away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. It was furnished beautifully with a lovely wood burner (& a constant supply of logs) and had everything you needed for self catering, not only that it was all to a very high quality. The breakfast tray was full of yummy goodies, most organic and locally sourced which was fantastic. The drying room & hot tub were the cherry on the top! Adam & Rosie were fantastic hosts, going over & above to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They were always willing to give advice or help. Their hard work and enthusiasm pays off as Aikenhead is a really special place. What is also amazing is Adam & Rosies approach to sustainable living, sourcing locally, reducing/eliminating plastic & growing organic veg! I would recommend Aikenhead to anyone.

    Mark2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish, this was a little slice of Heaven for us. Adam and Rosie could not be more welcoming and had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. A great location for beautiful countryside and the perfect escape from the stresses of life. Thanks so much :-) Linda & Lou

  • A lovely space. Adam and Rosie very friendly and helpful. Ideally located for all that beautiful Scotland has to offer.

  • Great space to stay in with or without a pet too Amazing thoughtful amenities you’re never stuck with nothing here! Hot tub in the evening was great relaxing experience - perfect place to come for a relaxing getaway/digital detox Adam and rosie were both friendly and helpful with anything needed also!

    Alasdair2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend staying in the attic. The space was very stylish, and comfortable. Rosie and Adam have gone the extra mile, adding lovely little extras like locally sourced food, and home baked flap jacks! Even our dog had her own wee jar of treats to make her feel welcome! Can honestly say one of the nicest weekends away we’ve had! Would love to go back!

    Jenna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The attic is part of a really interesting old house that Alex and Rosie are renovating. It is finished to a high standard and they have added a lot of thoughtful touches like a locally sourced breakfast box, homemade flapjack and dressing gowns. It is really nice how environmentally friendly it is as well with it being part of their ethos rather than a nod to it. The attic is plenty big enough for a long weekend but due to the nature of it being an attic there is not a lot of head height. This wasn’t an issue for us though. The hot tub and log burner were a real treat and we really enjoyed cosying up at the end of the day, it was also lovely arriving to an already made up fire. The location is beautiful and if you want a place to get away from everything and do some walking, swimming, kayaking etc it is perfect. Rosie and Alex are a lovely couple and we would highly recommend the stay to others. They are also doing up an accessible cottage for this year which we are looking forward to seeing. If we were coming to the area again we’d definitely return.

    Lauren And Callum2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very cosy and comfortable stay at the attic with extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Lots of little touches had been thought of and the breakfast try was full of delicious treats and Rosie’s flapjacks were incredible. We’re were staying when it was minus 6 outside and we were super cosy with a steady supply of logs for the fire and it was no trouble for Adam to bring us more when we ran out. The attic is set in a beautiful location which is peaceful and an ideal escape from busy city life.

    Kristiyan2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tatiana was very welcoming and lovely. Her house is a real family house so it really felt like home. She didn't checked us in personally but it was due to personal circumstances and her friend let us into the house which was ok. It was a bit tricky to find her house in the first place cuz we didn't have a house number and Google maps showed us a house at a street which wasn't Tatiana's. But we just had to walk up the street a bit more and finally found the house straight across a car park. The bed we slept in was quite squeaky but the room was dark and quiet at night so we still could sleep. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Tatiana gave us some great tips for hiking but unfortunately we already had other plans and couldn't explore them. I would recommend. Thank you, Tatiana!

  • Siobhan's luxurious penthouse flat is wonderful. She has thought of all that is needed to make it a special place to stay. It is very spacious & equipped to a very high standard. The generous welcome pack is superb & very much appreciated. The location & the views over the river are wonderful. It is by far the best accommodation that we have rented; you would be hard pressed to find a better Air B&B. Many thanks again Siobhan we look forward to staying with you again.

  • Amazing place and great host

    Susan2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Siobhan’s apartment is spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed. We were surprised and delighted to find such breakfast choices available - so generous and super helpful when travelling with three children. All the sleeping spaces were beautifully organised with comfortable beds, pristine bedding and lovely decorative touches. The flat is located right by the River Ericht with scenic views and lovely walks on the doorstep. The town centre is a stone’s throw away. My only caution would be if you have young children, do be very careful with the mezzanine level. Our youngest is 5 and understood she wasn’t to climb or pull herself up on the railings but ‘forgot’ once or twice...it’s not a problem with proper supervision. Siobhan has renewed my faith in AirBnb! We hope to be back soon.

Fordyce is right next to a fine old church with magnificent spire. The room is large with comfortable double bed, wardrobes, wifi, table and chairs, bookcases, local info and tea/coffee making facilities. Blair is an attractive central location for golfers, walkers, cyclists and skiers, with complex landscape, archaeology and culture. It is also a handy stopping off place on the way between Edinburgh Airport and Skye, Aberdeen, Inverness and the Highlands.
As I'm a writer, the house is full of books, which visitors are welcome to browse. One of the things I write about is contemporary art and this is reflected in the decor of the house. A peregrine falcon used to perch on top of the neighbouring church spire, but hasn't been seen lately. However, a couple of bats emerge from the spire at dusk and a hedgehog is a regular visitor to the garden. Everyone is welcome, whether it's for local work, touring Scotland, getting away from it all, or exploring the local area.
Blairgowrie is a bustling, traditional Scottish town, with a population of 10,000, nestling on the banks of the River Ericht. People used to work in waterside mills. Now 'Castle Water' is the town's principle employer. Blair has a range of independent shops (butcher's, fish, deli, antiques), as well as a range of cafés, pubs and restaurants. Wetherspoon's operates from what used to be a branch of Woolworths. Little's is a superb fish restaurant in a converted church. Other fine dining options include the Meiklour Arms (with shooting and fishing associations) and Ballathie House Hotel on the Tay. Getting back to basics, Sainsbury's is one minute walk away, while a large Tesco is a 5-minute stroll. This part of Perthshire is a great place for hiking, cycling, and touring by car. The surrounding landscape contains lovely walks (the Cateran Trail), incorporating woods, farmland, lochs, hills, rivers, stone circles, museums (several with unique collections of Pictish stones) and castles. Some of the richest people in the UK have property in Perthshire, often in large estates. Thankfully, the Right to Roam legislation means that these estates (and land in general) can be walked through by the public. The River Tay and its branches, (Ericht and Isla) contain dramatic gorges as well as meandering plains where the river is flanked by floodbanks made centuries ago by monks from Coupar Angus (5 miles away). Blairgowrie is particularly proud of its landscaped golf course, Rosemount, one of the finest inland courses in the UK. There are quaint towns nearby, including Kirriemuir, birthplace of JM Barrie, creator of 'Peter Pan'; and Dunkeld, with its old cathedral, rolling River Tay and a museum dedicated to Beatrix Potter, who used to holiday there. The 20-minute drive to Dunkeld is studded with lovely lochs, including Loch of the Lowes where ospreys nest. Glamis Castle, birthplace of the Queen Mother, is also a relatively short drive.
  • Nice place in town centre ideal for when on holidays

We were also greeeed to fresh flowers and treats when we arrived as well as lots of communication about how to keep the heating on etc as we were a lot later than expected. Thanks for a great stay.

The kitchen is brilliant and the view whilst dining is magnificent. The beds were very comfy and there is a pool table and a table tennis outfit to keep you fit. I would definitely recommend this place and Moira asa kind and unobtrusive hostess. She left us the basic foodstuffs you need for the first day. We would stay here again. Brilliant.

  • Really pleased with my stay at the Pictland loft: both the accommodation and the location are excellent. In the apartment, every thing is new and clean, the kitchen has anything one could need and a very good quality equipment, the living room is big and with a nice view onto the first Highlands hills. The wifi is working very well and at high speed. There is a parking on the property if you have a car, which is highly recommended. The location is also very good: between the Highlands and beautiful glens on the North and towns (Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh) and nice villages (St Andrews, Crail, ...) on the South, and between perfect lochs on the West and the sea and cliffs on the East. It is even possible to start walking in very picturesque and quiet surroundings directly from the loft. And last but not least, Clara and Alan are great hosts, very responsive when you have any special need, very flexible with the arrival and departure times and extremely generous (thanks again !). I would really recommend staying here and would not hesitate to come back.

This is a beautiful traditional cottage with modern facilities situated in the heart of Perthshire. You will enjoy the private use of a bedroom and bathroom - both bedrooms offer privacy, comfort, and charm. Within easy access are a host of incredible places to visit including many top visitor attractions. Walkers, climbers, skiers, cyclists, golfers, fishers, those interested in exploring and those who just want to "chill" will be well catered for and made most welcome.
Glenkilrie Cottage has rural charm and privacy and yet is very centrally located. In summer enjoy the sun trap patio in the evening, in winter enjoy the cosiness of the wood burning stove. Rural walks, history, magnificent golf courses, historic buildings, rivers to fish, lanes to cycle... so much to do. A great base for events such as the Scottish Game Fair, Rewind Festival Perth, Perth Festival of the Arts, various Highland Games, the Enchanted Forest experience, and the British Open when it comes to St Andrews.
Glenkilrie is a part of Woodside, a tiny village on the edge of Burrelton. This area abounds with fruit growing fields in the summer where strawberries and raspberries can be purchased at the roadside freshly picked from the adjacent fields. It is known for its rivers, beautiful golf courses, and cycling and walking routes. In winter, it is only a short drive from the ski slopes of Glenshee.
