  • Excellent space, the Abbey is stunning and the room & amenities made for a wonderful stay. Thoughtful touches like tea & coffee on arrival were most welcoming.

  • Staying in the Scriptorium is absolutely magical! My mum and I loved it so much and are already planning to make another trip back. The architecture of the abbey is stunning and it had everything we needed to feel at home. Well stocked kitchen and comfy bed too. Easy stroll to the local pubs, chip shop, and grocer.

  • The apartment was beautiful in a fantastic building with great facilities. Andrea's is a great host and was very attentive.

    Dan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We came for a long weekend in January and were not disappointed! The Scriptorium was chic and comfortably furnished. We loved all the original features. The apartment was just a little skip away from the pool in the chapel. The pool was lovely and warm, quiet and super clean. Lovely view from in the pool too. The grounds and surroundings alone were stunning, so we took a Loch Ness cruise while the weather was good to take it all in, which we picked up from just outside the grounds. We had great communication and a really helpful welcome and tour. There was info on the history of the abbey and ideas of what to do locally in the apartment. Would highly recommend a stay at the Scriptorium without hesitation and would love to go again!

  • Lovely apartment with a great view of the River Ness. The apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable. There were lovey little touches throughout the apartment and there was cereal, bread, and staples available for us. Rebecca was quick to respond to inquiries and had great tips in the apartment for local restaurants, etc. The apartment is a short walk to pubs, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

They are very accommodating and made recommendations for where we could visit. They had teas coffee sugar and milk with biscuits on our arrival. The cottage was beautiful and clean within a fantastic location so very easy to walk to places. I can’t say enough how pleased we were!

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline and Joep's place was lovely! Joep met us at the door for check-in (although you can check in independently as well) and gave us a tour of the property. He mentioned everything you'd need to know from the heating to their very cool electric shower and towel warmer. They have some great amenities such as tea and coffee to start you out with on your stay. They also have a washer in the home and then a dryer just a few steps away in a shed in the courtyard. The shed with the dryer was also super clean and had some extra clothes lines for hanging up delicates. Their home was super clean and had such cute images of hairy coos on the walls, which my friend and I personally loved. There are plenty of cozy blankets to use in the living room/bedroom. The TV situation was also great with cable options and an option to cast from your device to the TV. The location is fantastic - right next to the River Ness. It's close to all the city's restaurants and shops too. Just a two minute walk away is the local Tesco (so convenient) and their home is a ten minute walk away from the bus station/train station. Would highly reccomend their home for your stay in Inverness!

  • A fantastic family holiday in a truly historic area of Scotland. We will return again very soon.

    Christine2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • First and foremost, this place as a whole, is amazing. This place is in an old abbey, that was built by monks, on the old site of the actual Fort Augustus. Combine that with the fact that it's a stones throw from Loch Ness, and you have one beautiful place to stay. The condo itself is completely up to date and had everything that our group needed. Our group consisted of six adults and two children (four and eight). The pool and sauna is a community used facility and you must sign up to use those amenities. At first this seemed like a pain, but it helped to limit the amount of people using the pool, which was very nice. The grounds of the club itself are gorgeous and there was plenty to do from tennis and badminton to a playground for the kids. The abbey is located within perfect walking distance of shops, pubs, groceries, and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in staying in the Ft. Augustus area.

    Josh2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding location and style! You have to experience the Highland Club Abbey yourself to get an impression. The old cloister as just marvellously located directly at the tip of Loch Ness overlooking the waters in its length. The old monastery is just a breathtaking building with gothic architecture and amazing details in lounge and public spaces as well in the suites. The pool during sunny mornings with it's high gothic window arches is just the thing to start for food day hiking out the mountain ridges and lovely woods. The suite was nicely equiped, furnished and decorated, offered a plethora of books and was crisp clean. Highly recommended!

    Carsten2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious apartment (we were in Old school 5). Spacious rooms, nice loft with extra living room, nice kitchen and everything is at hand. Also handy that there are already things like pepper, salt, sugar and of course everything to cook with. Very clean apartment (and our standard is quite high) and the town of Fort Augustus was surprisingly nice! Highly recommended!

    Andries2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great location and perfect communication with host! The apartment, the building, the pool - everything perfect for a two week stay! Happy to coma back one day.

  • The pictures don't do it justice! The house has lots of character, is very cosy, the shower is FAB, and while it's listed as dog-friendly, there was no doggie smell :-) The bed was super-comfy too.

  • Super cosy wee cottage. Great location to explore and just the right size for four of us. The stairs take a wee bit of getting used to, but add to the charm of the place. Very friendly/helpful owner. Would definitely like to come back!

  • Sarah and I had a wonderful time and the location of the cottage to the town and places to visit was perfect. A very peaceful and scenic place to visit. Just what the doctor ordered.

    Andy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Totally recommend Lesley Ann’s cottage. She was so kind and checked we had arrived safely and left us milk with tea and coffee and various other kitchen things. There was a plentiful supply of logs for the amazing fire in the livingroom. We managed to sit outside and catch some Autumn sun in the garden too! It was perfectly situated for wonderful forest walks, boat down the Loch and delicious food at the local Lovat Hotel. The shop was a 5 minute walk and had all you could need. We just loved it so much and didn’t want to come home! Thank you LesleyAnn for your kindness and hospitality xxx

  • Ideally situated, the room is clean and tidy - good experience at Lock Chambers!

  • The Neptune room is a lovely place to stay in Fort Augustus. It has a great view of the canal and - even though it is so close to the bridge - there is very little noise heard in the room. The room was very clean and it is obvious that the hosts take pride in making a very ‘homely’ space to stay in. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is coming to Fort Augustus for a night or two.

The Chalet is a cosy, secluded wooden building, with a private garden and parking, sheltering beneath the wall of the original 17th century fort right in the centre of the village of Fort Augustus. It is less than a minute's walk from the shops and canal, restaurants and pubs, and an ideal place to rest and recuperate after days spent boating on Loch Ness, walking or cycling in the surrounding hills, or exploring the Highlands further afield.
The chalet is newly renovated, bright and comfortable. It is well-equipped and private with its own off street parking and garden. Situated in the center of Fort Augustus, it provides convenient access to shops and local attractions including a five minute walk to the banks of Loch Ness.
Fort Augustus is a magical place with warm friendly people, extraordinary surroundings and mysterious legends.

The place is easy to find, well signposted, and 10 mn walk from shops and different restaurants. We had a very peaceful night. I can recommend this place highly to anybody. • Excellent place to stay with everything you need. Facilities are all very new and work perfectly. The location is brilliant for accessing the Highland and Islands. Jen is very helpful and responsive, a really great host. We had a brilliant time here and will be telling all our friend. Highly recommended!

  • Great location! It was a short walk to the centre of town which made it easy to take in the sights. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and as advertised. Jen was a great host and offered lots of suggestions on the area. I highly recommend a stay at her place.

  • Spacious 2 bed cottage more than big enough for the three of us, modern and spotless throughout. Friendly and informative welcome, clear and quick communications throughout. 10mins walk into Fort Augustus, ideally located for our short stop between Skye and Inverness in order to explore Loch Ness. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

    Zack2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jen's place is perfect in every way. Will recommend to my friends.

    Elle2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jen's accommodation is just out of town (about 2 minutes to drive in). The self contained 2 bedroom bungalow is spacious, neat, clean, comfortable, has everything you'll ever need and could accommodate a family of 4. The kitchen is complete, has a cupboard full of condiments and has a few appliances I don't even have at home! So if you're staying there a while, there'll be no problems if you want to whip something up for yourself. Jen is an informative and gracious host. She was worried she wouldn't finished work before I got there, so here lovely mother and father were recruited to "man-the-fort" and showed me around. Fort Augusts is a charming little town on the banks of Loch Ness. The petrol station/general store is well stocked with anything you need and there are ample pubs and restaurants. You can spend several hours wandering the streets and looking at the arts and crafts and doing the touristy thing. You can also use it as a base to look around the area. If you like twisty winding roads and getting a little out of the way, you can try doing a lap of Loch Ness (up the east side to Inverness and then back down the main road on the west side). Would I stay at Jen's again if I'm in the area? - definitely yes. Would I recommend it to others? - unreservedly.

  • This is a hotel complex. Nothing wrong with it just wasn’t what I was expecting. Was thinking it was a secluded lodge but far from it. But it was very good value so I would return

  • The castle is located on the southernmost part of Loch Ness, and the scenery is very beautiful facing Loch Ness. The location is also very good. We drove to Sky Island on the first day and the train bridge to Fort William and Harry Potter the next day was convenient. The host David and his wife were very nice and showed us the whole castle on the first day. Very sweet prepared milk and mineral water biscuit yogurt in the refrigerator. Feel free to use the castle facilities and the indoor pool is amazing. Very satisfied, I knew I would stay in London for a few days, if only I could stay for a few more days.

    2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was an experience we will remember forever, being able to access a former Abby in the highlands right on Loch Ness!

  • Great communication before our visit. On arrival efficient meet and great from David and shown around the Abbey and the facilities. A brief history which was great. Great swimming pool and games room for my son and I and super comfy beds. Overall an awesome experience.

  • Only stayed one night and wish it had been at least two! We played giant chess ... actually jumped into and swam in Loch Neas and overall loved the stay. Amazing hospitality. There is a sauna, a steam room and a massive pool for to utilize as well. You can feel the history in the air! The hosts are great ... we were met upon arrival immediately after a long drive and that was comforting.

  • The accommodation of Sue and David is perfectly located, within the Highland Club complex, tenants have access to all the infrastructure and activities of the site, really amazing! The cottage is located right on the shores of Loch Ness, the views are magnificent. Fort Augustus is right next door, there is direct access to the locks to walk to the center. The cottage is really cute, with a typical decoration of the corner. Sue gave us lots of tips on the surroundings! Thank you very much for your hospitality, it would be a real pleasure to come back !!

The Old Armoury is on Loch Ness within the fortress walls of a beautiful Abbey. It is central to the Highlands, within easy reach of lots of places. There's a swimming pool and other facilities for those rainy days. My apartment is ideal for wheelchairs, couples, solo adventurers & families with kids. (Two beds plus sofa bed, not for 6 adults ). My apartment & Abbey were recently chosen by the Amazon Prime "Grand Tour" car television show as a base for the filming Scottish Highlands show.
The Old Armoury is a ground floor (wheelchair friendly) holiday home nestled on the shores of Loch Ness built in a unique Abbey in a unique location known as the award winning Highland Club, St Benedicts Abbey, Fort Augustus and centrally located within the Highlands of Scotland. Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2019.
The apartment is adjacent to the shores of Loch Ness, the Caledonian canal and 5 minutes walk into Fort Augustus village. Fort William and Inverness are approx. 60 miles in each direction with a regular bus from the village to go either way. Ben Nevis is approx. 40 miles from the apartment and is great for skiing.

  • Thank you Lesley for the use of your apartment in the amazing Abbey! It was a very special place to be for a few days. We loved the whole place, the management were very helpful and the apartment clean and comfortable. The Chapel Pool and the Club Lounge were fantastic places to be after dark. But the best thing about this stay is undoubtedly the spectacular setting - magnificent Loch Ness right on the doorstep of the looming Abbey buildings. Truly a unique Air BnB experience.

  • This is a stunning bucket list location. The suite was such a treat to stay in and blew us away as we opened the door and saw inside. We cooked in the well appointed kitchen, took nature walks outside, swam in the pool, and enjoyed the village’s shops and pub. It’s cozy yet grand and the most lovely mix of modern and traditional. Absolutely one of my favorite AirBnb experiences thus far! Thank you Joanne :)

  • Its gorgeous! All the stained glass is amazing. The host did an incredible and thoughtful job on the decor as well. It is nicely equipped with whatever you need. Look in the cabinet in the kitchen - there is a french press there. There's a little place in town where you can buy coffee and food. The showers work great which is a big thing for me because I have a lot of hair and I need good pressure to wash it! We were very comfortable there!

  • Brilliant, comfortable, cosy home away from home. Excellent space to spend a weekend winding down.

    Scott2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Do not hesitate to book this little slice of heaven! Tracy is a wonderful host, helping with a birthday cake for my husband and even leaving a box of choccies for him. The lodge itself is amazing, spotlessly clean, super comfy beds, all mod cons and the hot tub is a delight! We will be booking again and can't wait to go back.

    Claire2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time visiting the Lodge, It was a great first Valentines weekend as a new Mr & Mrs. Tracy was very prompt in answering any questions we had and was kind enough to add the extra touch of a welcome box of chocolates :) Would definitely recommend.

    Chloe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's place was absolutely stunning and i couldn't have asked for more! I felt so welcome and the sweet touches of the chocolates for valentines day was so thoughtful! Tracy was such a lovely host, very attentive and friendly. I will 100% be back!

    Jasmine2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from an excellent stay. Everything in the lodge was sparkling and we loved the added extras of bread, butter, jam and milk. Tracy was quick to respond when we had any questions and provided lots of information about the local area. Was a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here.

    Natalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect get away in an amazing area. A nice quiet area but still local enough to shops, restaurants and a takeaway. A very cosy stay, we will be back for sure!

    Grant2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just home from a fantastic weekend away. Tracey gave us a warm welcome to begin with. The lodge was stunning/ very modern and the hot tub was a great feature. We loved the little quirks i.e. the board games and the bread etc, very thoughtful. The drive to Lewiston/ the river at the back of the lodge was so peaceful and being in that part of Scotland reminded us of the beauty of the country. Thank you Tracey, we hope to return in the future!

    Emma2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here over New year. Absolutely fantastic, Tracy really has thought of everything. The lodge was just immaculate and so cozy, quiet and private. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends. Beautiful walks near by too.

Glen Mor: luxury 4 star apartment in renovated Abbey with wifi, swimming pool, sauna, tennis, barbeques, club lounge with full size snpoker table, mountain views. Less than 10 minute walk to town centre pubs, restaurants and staircase of locks on Caledonian Canal. Watch boats go through the town centre. 1 hour drive to favourite tourist sites (Urquhart Castle, Eilan Donan, Skye, Glen Affric etc).
The apartment has a king size double in main bedroom. Accommodation comprises an open plan living room with kitchen and separate bedroom. The bedroom sleeps 2 people on king size double bed. The Abbey was completed in 1880 and used as Benedictine monastery then as a school run by the monks till 1993. The buildings retain most of their original features. Glen Mor apartment is situated in a later addition to the site that was used as the school chemistry building which looks onto the Abbey Moat House. Guests have access to the main Abbey building where the pool and club lounge are located.
Fort Augustus is a lovely village located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands on the banks of Loch Ness. The centrepiece of the village is the staircase of canal locks which is part of the busy Caledonian Canal - having a drink by the canal and watching the boats negotiate the locks is one of my favourite ways to pass the time. Cruise boats leave from just outside the Club. There are several pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance (5 minutes) in the village. The Boathouse Restaurant is in the Abbey grounds, with a beautiful view up Loch Ness.
  • This is a real gem and we cannot wait to return! The abbey is so lovely with many unique amenities (pool, sauna, lounge area with snooker table, giant chess board, etc) and the flat is a great size with comfortable furniture, a large refrigerator, and a combo washer-dryer. It is on the third floor (American way of counting) with no elevator so if you travel with heavy bags like us, be prepared for that.

    Megan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at David's flat. The accommodation itself was spotless and cosy with all the facilities and amenities described in the listing as well as some thoughtful extras. Free access to the adjacent Highland Club swimming pool/sauna/steam room/gym was an added bonus and these facilities were excellent. The location was superb - the flat is an annexe to the picturesque Abbey and a 30 second walk to the banks of Loch Ness with stunning views all around. It is a very short walk to Fort Augustus town centre and a great base for visiting other Highland locations. Good value for money and highly recommended.

    Mez2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spotless apartment set in magnificent building/grounds! Warm and cosy in a wet and windy January! Fort Augustus is a really pleasant little place with some nice pubs/eating places, Lochness boat trip, gift shops - all within a few minutes walk . Although we didn't use gym or swimming pool we did enjoy the Club room with a game or two of snooker! On arrival we were taken on a tour of the Abbey and the facilities available to us and it was nice to learn about the history . Would recommend!

    Cheryl2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Davids place is fabulous. Clean, comfortable, cosy, excellently equipped and the Highland Club facilities superb. We particularly enjoyed the snooker and the swimming pool. Easy walkable access to Fort Augustus and a perfect spot to explore further afield. Lots of good information available at the apartment, our only disappoint was, because of the time of year, a lot of the better restaurants were shut for the season. However we did find the Contrast Restaurant in Inverness which is fabulous quality and value. Highly recommend. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you

    Christopher2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment has everything you need and the abbey is a very special place to stay! I can absolutely recommend this place, it is in the middle of the highlands. From here you can explore the highlands to the South, West, North and the East!

    Yvonne2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is a exactly as described. Clean and wonderfully setup. The extra amenities are a nice touch. We came during a slow period for travel in Fort Augustus but it is still a wonderful little town and would be pretty busy during the summer. Would recommend to stay if you are looking to explore the Highlands.

    Evan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at David's accommodation for a weekend break and had the most lovely experience ever! Communication with the host was fast and accurate since the initial stages. David took time to send us a detailed document with information for checking-in; further, we were provided with several leaflets and materials explaining how to use the Abbey facilities (i.e. swimming pool, sauna & steam room), as well as suggestions for planning our exploration of the nearby locations. The flat was sparkling clean and well-equipped, which we very much appreciated! We cooked several lovely dinners at home: such a pleasure! The Abbey amenities and facilities were stunning. We visited during a quiet phase, and had the entire pool, SPA area, and game room for ourselves. Further, the location of the Abbey is so magic: you'll be immersed into the green, far away from the chaos of the city and you'll feel relax and refreshed as you never felt before! I highly recommend this Airbnb accommodation and I cannot wait to be back myself!

  • The house is located at a calm, lovely area and is very close to restaurants and shops in Fort Augustus. Sara and her husband were very gracious and made sure we were settled in and comfortable. The icing on top was of course the games room with ice hockey and pool table. We put some music on and had a few hours of recreation which was great after a long drive. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone who would like to avoid the hassle of a city and enjoy some peaceful and fun time.

  • Visit at all costs! Just returned from an incredible few days at Michael and Marie’s ‘Wee House’ and it did not disappoint. We arrived and were greeted by Michael who was super friendly and gave us loads of tips where to go etc, there was milk, bread, biscuits and other little treats waiting for us! The house was sparkling clean and such a cosy space! Thank you Michael & Marie

  • Great cozy place to stay, we were worried that the bed area would be too small, but it was a great size, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    James2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Marie are extremely friendly and helpful. Their "wee house" is stylish and very well equipped with everything you need for a break in the highlands. It was cosy and comfortable. We will return in the summer, and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The local "Waterfall cafe" is also great for food and coffee.

    Alice2020-03-06T00:00:00Z

Nestled in the Cairngorms National Park, The Steading (Scottish for converted Barn) was recently converted to a high standard. It provides a spacious, light and cosy cottage base with which to explore the local area. Extremely warm, with fabulous fire in the lounge and sky lights in all the rooms. The cottage provides easy access to mountain biking, Hill walking and climbing. The views of the National Park are stunning and the local countryside is home to many moorland birds and wildlife.
  • Absolutely beautiful location, stunning scenery and easy to get to from the A9 Perfect for a couple to retreat to!

    Matt2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Highly reactive on any request, Vicky and Matt have answered very fast to my needs, notably smaller logs for the fire. Comfort of the cottage is outstanding, insulation at the last standards, warm water, pressure in the shower, clear instructions for everthing and definitely a lovely place to stay. Do not hesitate to stay at Catlodge 'The steading' in the winter like I did. Heating is perfect (after the first evening), fire is warm enough with little support of the electric heaters. Logs and kindley can be found in Laggan and in Newtonmore easily, though quite expensive but I considered it a basic and priority need. Landscape is outstanding (and with snow just fantastic), particularly scenery from the bed through the large door-window at sun rise in the very morning and more surprising, the stars through the Velux in the ceiling. No light pollution in this place of Scotland, thus incredible stars. And silence, silence, silence. Wake up with the sheets and the fazants. Nice walks without having to make a lot of kilometers by car. One of my most extraordinary trips ever, 2-hour trip from Edinburgh airport..

    Patrick2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in the most incredible setting. We were lucky enough to have snow throughout our stay. The cottage has every amenity you can think of, even some cooking oil, salt and pepper. It really was a lovely cosy stay for a winter getaway

  • I got this stay for my mum and dad to celebrate my mums 50th and she was amazing by it. She has always wanted to spend her 50th someone snowy and beautiful and she got exactly that. They drove all the way from the south west but would do it again! The pictures and videos she sent of their trip here looked amazing! It has made me and my husband want to book now!

  • Loch Ness Studio is a lovely little space, perfect for a base for exploring the local area and even further afield, we had a great day out on Skye! It has all you could need and is spotless!

  • Warm and cosy was so much better than expected. Location was great with shops and restaurants so close by.

  • Nice self-contained cabin, warm and clean with everything you could need. Great Location to explore Loch Ness and the Inverness area. Good for the dog with dog-friendly hotel food 5mins walk away.

  • Absolutely cannot fault Loch Ness studio, we’ve had a wonderful stay! Lovely, clean centrally located place thank you!

    Charlie2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great space for one person or couple who want immediate access to local area. Road side location which is very convenient but does mean that you will hear traffic. This could bother people seeking a quieter highland experience. That said traffic always finished by bed time and will not be noticed over the sound of the TV. Welcoming hosts who leave you to it but are available if needed. I recommend.

    Adam2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • My parents stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it. There is a grocery store near by and lots of great hiking trails. The host responded quickly and the check in was super easy. We highly recommend staying at this place. Thanks again!

  • Perfect place, really comfortable for the 2 of us, lovely and cosy and in a great location. Would definitely go back

  • Don't think twice. If you are looking for quiet place to spend your time away from noise, you can not find better one. Clean, warm, everything you need is at hand. Very low price in exchange for these luxuries. I honestly recommend John M. place.

Urquhart Bay Croft is a brand new luxury self-catered renovation with beautiful views across Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart. Downstairs it has a double height entrance hallway, one king-size bedroom, and separate family bathroom, while upstairs it boasts a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining area, lounge with comfy sofa and free standing log burner, and double doors opening to decked area and the wider south facing garden.
We are Simon and Annie Greenlay. We first saw Urquhart Bay cottage in 2014 and fell in love with it. We have run Urquhart Bay BnB for 2yrs(see our other listings for reviews). We knew immediately that we wanted to live in this peaceful place with its one-of-a-kind views over Loch Ness. The Croft is our latest project that we have put our heart and soul into, and look forward to sharing it with our guests. The Croft is ideally situated close to the beautiful Highland village of Drumnadrochit, and is only a 2 minute walk from the iconic Urquhart Castle. It sits in extensive private gardens to explore offering stunning views of Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart. Downstairs, there is a large kingsize bedroom with original bothy window offering views from the bed across the loch, and a separate luxury bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower with rain head. Upstairs, there is a large open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with free standing log burner, that also has a pull out sofa bed for children. We have worked with local craftsmen to restore and enhance the original building, so that you are never far from a view of the Loch(even from your bed!), and couldn’t be closer to the iconic Urquhart Castle, just a few minutes’ walk away. For the cosier evenings we have a large log burner, SMART TV and high speed WiFi available throughout. The Croft is furnished to a very high standard, with many items hand crafted and knitted. Guests can expect high quality toiletries, Egyptian cotton linen throughout, and we are happy to provide fresh eggs daily from our free range highland hens. The Croft is a great base to explore the highlands, and there are many walking routes directly from the doorstep to explore the local views across the iconic Loch, or bump into some of the local wildlife such as many local deer or birds of prey who live near the Loch. We have plenty of parking available and are a short walk from the local village of Drumnadrochit.
Peaceful and in an area of outstanding beauty. A short walk down to the village on a path.
  • The location of this Croft is amazing with lovely views of Loch Ness, the recommendations on where to visit were very welcome also. The Croft is homely and had everything we needed, we can’t fault anything! Thank you very much for letting us stay here.

    Saskia2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a stunning find! We were a little nervous being first time airnbnb-ers but our experience couldn't have been better. The croft is the perfect cosy hideaway and Annie and Simon are wonderful hosts.

    Morgan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Annie & Simon’s beautiful Croft. For me, it was perfect, faultless even. The Croft is beautifully designed, warm, cosy and welcoming with stylish, personal touches. In a nutshell, the bed is super comfy, bathroom is great, kitchen has everything you need, and the living room has a wood burning stove, not to mention THAT view! The balcony area is a peaceful outside space to sit and enjoy the view of Loch Ness and the wooded hillside behind the croft. I’d say the croft is ideally located to explore the area, with short walks direct to the village and beyond. There is a large Co-op and good pharmacy, and the Loch Ness Inn pub is nearby. Simon was generous with helpful local advice - thank you for pointers on Glen Affric (I did the Affric-Kintail trail for longer hike) and the Great Glen Way (check out the pottery)- I did both and loved every minute! I can’t wait to return! Thank you!

    Sarah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a beautiful and luxurious place to stay. The Croft was incredibly well equipped and decorated to a very high spec. It was really warm, comfortable, and relaxing. Just what my partner and I needed. We really didn’t want to leave. It’s also very well located with beautiful views over Urquhart Bay, and just around the corner from Urquhart Castle. Simon met us on arrival which was quite late in the evening, and showed us around the Croft and gave us lots of useful information about local walks. We would love to return to the Croft again.

  • This is a fabulous find for anyone exploring the Loch Ness, North West Scotland area. Cosy, comfortable, clean and charming. If you are looking for a lovely secluded place to retreat to, this is it. Take you hiking boots. There are some fabulous views. We loved our visit.

    Jennifer2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Croft has awesome views looking over Loch Ness and has everything you need for a relaxing weekend getaway. Lovely local restaurant called The Loch Ness Inn, which I’d highly recommend too! Thanks Annie & Simon. Hope to see you again soon!

    Tom2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accomodation in an amazing location. The croft is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area. Thanks again to Simon and Annie for having us!

    Mark2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing house to stay in! The house exceeded all our expectations- not only is it a beautifully designed house (all the windows are perfectly placed so you maximise all the views) but it is in a perfect location, only 4 mins walk to Urquhart Castle and a 5mins drive to local amenities and overlooks the beautiful Loch Ness! There are lots of lovely touches around the house and it’s very beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spotless and the bath was by far the best I’ve ever used! I wish I could have taken it home with me! Will be recommending to all our family and friends!

HOMEFIELD is home to Heidi, Nigel and their very friendly German Shepherd, Dorley and is located in the picturesque village of Fort Augustus in the Scottish Highlands. Homefield is a bungalow that has a completely private, self contained flat within it. The newly renovated flat has a bright, retro feel to it and comprises of 1 bedroom, living room, small kitchen and bathroom. There is no oven/hob, but we provide a microwave, toaster & kettle, and there are many pubs serving food in the village.
The flat has been completely renovated throughout and is a self-contained, private living area within the property you see on the cover photo. The garden to this property is a large wrap around one. The area to the left of the property is private, but the garden to the right is for guests to enjoy. As well as free wifi, we will provide a pint of milk and also tea, coffee and sugar, plus all crockery and glasses. Bedding, towels and toilet paper are also provided. The bathroom comprises of shower, WC and basin. The flat has it's own private entrance and off road parking for one car. Our dog is very friendly and may bark initially if she hears you. She will soon settle and is only being curious. Please always shut the gates, thank you! Homefield is a NO SMOKING flat and also NO PETS. A new smoke/carbon monoxide alarm has been fitted. We also provide trays and two small folding tables to allow guests to be able to eat comfortably in the living room.
Fort Augustus is at the southern end of Loch Ness, situated between Inverness and Fort William. The village has many bars, restaurants, a fish & chip shop, cafes and unique gift shops and is just a 10 minute walk away, as is the bank of Loch Ness itself and the Caledonian Canal. Cruise Loch Ness operate from the village and offer both exciting, fast RIB boat trips as well as the larger, gentler paced boat trips. Both sail to Castle Urquhart several times a day from March - October. Bicycles (and electric bikes) are available to hire at Girvans shop, 5 minutes away, so you can take your own tour of the village and surrounding areas. Running through the centre of the village is the Caledonian Canal, where boats of all sizes navigate their way through the locks. The Ben Nevis ski range is 32 miles away near to Fort William and there is a golf course right next door to us. For further afield excursions, you could drive to the Black Isles to see the seals, or many other picturesque places such as the Cairngorms National Park. We love Fort Augustus. The people are friendly and the surrounding area is beautiful. Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break. We both used to come here as children, and then as a couple, and it was always our dream to live here, and now we do!
  • Heidi was such a lovely host who greeted us on arrival. A friendly German Shepherd also gave us a warm welcome. Loved everything about the house. Clean, neat and every detail in the house was cute & unique. We really had a good night sleep in the house. 10 min walk down the road for food & drinks. Highly recommend to stay here!

  • If it were possible to give more than 5 stars I would. Heidi greets you and shows you the guest home and if you are a dog lover, maybe you can meet Dorley. Impeccably clean, modern retro and comfortable. A 10 min walk into the village for a good meal and cute shops. Great things to do in the area as well. Highly recommend a stay in Fort Augustus @ Homefield.

  • We were impressed by the work done on the bus. It is really unique ! The idea is great, and there is everything you might want after a long day walking : couches, TV, kitchen, small table, a small stove... The beds were nice, thanks to the electric heaters. The available time for hot water in the shower is a bit short (2 min) but is coming back quickly after 20 min. On overall, it was a nice stay in a very unique place near the Loch Ness. We highly recommend it !

St Andrews Chapel apartment is one of a handful of unique apartments - unique in the sense that the apartment is a mix of modern and original designs. The stone walls and vaulted ceiling of the kitchen dining area is the structure of what was the monks chapel, retaining original fixed stain glass windows. The 160 sq metre duplex apartment is open plan with a large galleried master bedroom with en suite and a further guest bedroom - this does not have windows but does have a ventilation system.
Guests can avail of the indoor pool and sauna facilities, gymnasium as well as games room. Outside there are tennis courts and large playing field areas.
Fort Augustus offers spectacular views down Loch Ness and is a paradise for keen walkers and cyclists with many beautiful walks around the area, the most popular being the Great Glen Way. The village is heavily reliant on tourism where local cruise tours of Loch Ness itself, gift shops, bars and restaurants are available year round. All 2 minutes walk from the apartment!
  • This was such a cool experience to stay in this space. The mix of modern decor in the old abbey made it so unique. Before arriving, Stan sent information about the property which made it very easy to check in. We took the time to explore the property and took advantage of the giant chess game and pool in the chapel. I would recommend this apartment to people who are looking for a place with rich history. Thank you Stan!!

My place is close to Loch Ness and public transport links to Inverness. You’ll love my place because of the natural light, modern open plan living space and mature woodland garden. My place is good for solo adventurers. I work from home running a natural yarn dyeing business, Loch Ness Knitting. So I am on hand to provide information about the local area. Please be aware we also have two friendly cats.
First Floor bedroom, with single bed. Traditional sloped ceiling and large window. Your bathroom with power shower is adjacent to the room.
The village of Drumnadrochit is at the heart of Loch Ness. We are within walking distance of the Nessieland and Loch Ness exhibition centres. Boat trips to explore the Loch and Castle Urquhart are also available in the village centre. For evening meals we recommend booking the Fiddlers or the Loch Ness Inn. Cafes and Pubs in the village centre are also excellent. For a hearty breakfast we recommend the A82 cafe around the corner from the house.
  • Beautiful modern home in the heart of Loch Ness. Amazing surroundings and easy to get to everything.

  • Both are very nice and helpful. The apartment is clean and you can cook something in the kitchen. One cat is very sweet the other is not. The location is great. It is only about 3 minutes to the snack bar and the supermarket. You can also walk to the ruins (but costs a lot of admission).
