  • Cool spot. Sleeping situation is good for 2-3 max! Couples can have the queen bed and their is a cot + futon. Grab a few beers before hitting the sack and you’ll sleep well. A lot of bars and fun spots less than .25 miles away.

  • Perfect for anyone wanting to spend a night or two in Louisville. It's in walking distance of pretty much anywhere downtown, such as the Yum Center or Fourth Street Live, so it's super convenient. One potential issue could be parking, but there were a few lots across the street that you could pay by the day for. The apartment itself was super clean and cozy. It was a little loud, especially because the bed is right beside the front door, which allowed us to hear the elevator every time someone would come up, but otherwise it was a great little place to stay in the middle of the city.

    The cottage has one bedroom and one bathroom and a brand new modern apartment style kitchen (sink, dishwasher, gas stove top, microwave, toaster, full fridge/freezer.
    The house is 10 minutes from the airport and Churchill Downs, 5-10 minute drive to the convention center and other downtown venues. This is a very charming, beautiful yet eclectic neighborhood.
  • Booked for a night stay but could imagine being really comfortable there for an extended time. Heard trains and planes but wasn’t bothered, there are ear plugs provided if you need. I’ll keep this one bookmarked for a possible return!

  • Directions were very easy to follow to get to and into Brents place. Quite possibly one of the best instructions I’ve had to go to and get into an Airbnb. The parking was pretty annoying/expensive but that isn’t Brents fault it’s just part of being in a downtown area. The apartment was very nice, newly renovated and VERY clean. It was a great stay and I enjoyed the closeness to the downtown area it provides.

  • Brent’s place was perfect for our family of 4. Our kids are 9 and 12. And both slept comfortably on the sofa and fold-away bed. The main bedrooms bed is AMAZING! I have a memory foam at home and I’m often miserable when staying other places due to the bed. This bed was perfect! The space is small but has a good lay out and so we felt like there was plenty of space for us... way better then a hotel room! The kitchen although tiny was just what we needed to cook quick meals and stock the fridge for our 3 day stay. The only downfall and it’s really out of their control is the temperature. It was like 80° is due at 3am... and We all prefer to sleep at a cooler temp. But the buildings heat is controlled by the office and we couldn’t get the heaters to turn off as described in the directions he gave us. So maybe another fan for the main area and bedroom would be nice. It was like $42 a night maybe about $70 after Airbnb’s fees... totally worth it! Again Way better then a hotel and it’s fun being right in downtown. It’s a cool place and we’d stay again!

    This newly renovated building is located in Downtown Louisville. It provides a wonderful view of the Ohio River and bridges from the included Rooftop Sundeck, along with modern decorations that make you feel right at home. It is conveniently located to help you enjoy your stay in Louisville! No matter what direction your adventure takes you, you will find culture, creativity, and endless entertainment provided by the Downtown area and its surrounding neighborhoods.
    Our one bedroom apartment with one queen bed, a couch, and an additional air mattress has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Louisville! The kitchen is stocked with cookware to cook simple meals, has stainless steel appliances, and a Keurig coffee maker. There's a smart TV with Roku and Netflix (there is no cable) & free WiFi! A washer and dryer is available inside the apartment for your convenience. The building is located in a prime location, in the heart of downtown, and parking may be difficult to find. We recommend parking in the Yum Center Garage, though it can fill quickly during an event. There are bars, restaurants, nightlife, and live music venues on the ground level and noise can be heard in the suite.
    This area offers something for everyone. The Downtown location allows easy access to dining, shopping, entertainment, and much more. Located right on W Main St are bars with character, museums, and necessities such as ATMs, coffee shops, and additional parking if needed. This modern suite is within walking distance to large attractions such as the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, Fourth Street Live, and many more.

Location is perfect for walking to cute bars, restaurants and more. We absolutely loved our stay and plan to return. Can’t imagine a better place to stay when visiting Louisville.

The room is in a large older historic looking building and has been very nicely renovated into multiple residential units. The rental itself is super clean and nice with high ceilings, very open layout, tall windows overlooking the bustling restaurants and bourbon bars below. Overall a great value for the price, location, and accommodations. We are looking forward to coming back.

    Private loft in convenient Shelby Park, with queen bed, small balcony, private bath, and private entrance. Central location to most Louisville attractions in a transitional neighborhood. Please be aware that there are dogs and cats in the lower part of the house. Guests must climb a flight of stairs up to the unit. We now have wifi, but no TV. All travelers welcome. Gay and transgender guests welcome, hetero guests welcome, travelers with or without pets welcome, international guests welcome.
    Amenities include a table, chairs, plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, and private bathroom with a shower but no bathtub. Please note that we have no TV, and no kitchen. There is a mini fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker along with complimentary coffee, filters, cream, and sugar.
    Quiet family-oriented block, located in a mixed income neighborhood. We love our block and our neighbors. We love living in a diverse, integrated neighborhood. On our block live several retirees, a doctor, a nutrition educator, and a writer. This is an urban neighborhood, located about halfway between Churchill Downs and the Slugger Museum. Please read about the Shelby Park neighborhood on Wikipedia for more information about our neighborhood. We are steps away from Shelby Park which is a good place to walk your dog, play tennis, or have a picnic. Please note that there is some noise potential from airplanes and barking dogs.
  • Loft-style, or a bit of a garret, in great shape. Not fancy, but has all you need, and everything works. If you're a walker, you're within about half an hour of some excellent food and drink. Joel's a friendly host, and staying at his place, you get to know a bit of Louisville's heart.

  • This is literally the 5 star value that I rated it to be. I personally love Old Louisville for its architecture. The location allowed me the ease into a horde of diverse, inner city acreage. Districts, if you will. One minute I’m tempting fate by trekking away from Shelby park, without Location services on. Ten minutes later I’m in the heart of German town, I think... I couldn’t seem to stop myself from adventuring out from this Centralized Hub from whence I matured. The space is described perfectly. This Artist Garret undoubtedly inspired the composer, creator... “Virtuoso” within. Joel was gracious enough to meet with me upon request. I would easily (GLADLY) spend a month in this Garret, given the importunity... opportunity...

Read the description closely and you will have all the information you need to have a wonderful experience. There is a steep stairway. There are dogs. it is close to an airport. You have to park on the street. If you prepare for these things, you will have a wonderful stay. I have absolutely no regrets... Looking forward to my next time in Louisville. God bless.

    Hip modern amenities meet historic home in Shelby Park. Bike friendly, and a quick ride or drive to everything in the urban core - Nulu, Old Louisville, The Highlands, Germantown, Downtown and more. Easy access to the airport, to boot!
    We love to travel with AirBnB, and think it has made us thoughtful and thorough in how we have furnished the space. A comfy King sized bed gives you room to stretch out, and the kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishes and silverware) provides a great space to get a little work done or search for your next favorite place to eat in Louisville (there are SO MANY!)
    Our home is located in Shelby Park, a diverse neighborhood that is central to many Louisville destinations and is currently seeing a bit of a home-grown, neighborhood-led renaissance.

    Located right in the heart of Louisville's most popular downtown neighborhood. This gorgeous, 1100 square ft shotgun style house has been converted from a retail space. A short walk from nationally acclaimed farm to table restaurants, popular bars, local roast coffee shops, galleries and boutiques. You can also walk to several different bourbon distilleries and Slugger Field. Free city circulation buses and pay as you ride bike and scooter stations can get you to slightly further major venues.
    The Heart of NuLu is an 1100 square foot home in the traditional 'shotgun' style. This warm, exposed brick space is linear in design. The brick walls provide a cozy continuity to the individual living spaces. Enter into the living room. There is a small kitchenette in the middle of the space and a large, king size bed in the back of the building next to the bathroom. The bathroom features a tile and glass shower with a lovely stone floor. All amenities including furniture are brand new and have been selected with the traveler in mind. This open floor plan may not be ideal for groups that require privacy from each other. Note that due to the layout of the house the furnace vent or the HVAC is located above the bed. This causes air to flow across the sleeping area which may be uncomfortable or annoying for some. If you are a light or sensitive sleeper, you may be bothered by the white noise produced by the HVAC at night. Note that there is NO STOVE. The kitchenette area features a toaster oven and small refrigerator for drinks and snacks. There is a Kureg and a French Press for coffee and an electric kettle for hot water. Note that there is NO CABLE. The Smart TV has Netflix. You can log into your Amazon or Hulu accounts. There is also a Chromecast for you to use if you would rather stream from your own device.
    The NuLu neighborhood is chock full of amazing places to visit. The house has two large chalk boards in the kitchenette area detailing individual establishments that are absolutely worth a visit within 2 walking blocks in each direction. A long walk or a Uber or LIFT can get you to many other excellent destinations within 5 or 10 minutes.

  • Mitchell did not have a coffee maker but left tea and instant coffee. I cannot live without coffee so it was a nice touch. The other reviews mentioned the ear plugs and sound machine to accommodate the level of noise from the below bar. I did not find the bar noise bothersome, but it was a nice touch for guests that could be sensitive to sound. Those thoughtful touches really made it feel homey, and made it a great stay. It was so close to downtown Louisville, which is why we chose this location. He says there is a bus we could've taken be we opted for an Uber which was $6 each way before tips, which was also nice. This was a great stay and if I were to ever need a place close to downtown Louisville again, I would check Mitchell's place first for availability.

Located in close-in St. Matthews, a quiet tree-lined area with easy access to downtown, major tourist attractions and eateries.

If you don't mind going down to a 1946 (unfinished) basement, you may also use the washer-dryer. There's an iron and board available. Louisville offers many attractions--historic homes such as Locust Grove and Farmington; the Kentucky Derby, Louisville Slugger, Muhammad Ali, and Speed Art Museum; the KY Center for the Arts, and the new YUM! arena. The Big Four Bridge has recently opened as a pedestrian walkway to Indiana. There is a lovely ramp with super views of downtown and the Ohio River esp at sunset. The Shelbyville Road shopping area, boutique-lined Frankfort Avenue, the hip Bardstown Road and NULU districts are a short drive away. Guests often comment on how well situated the house is. I myself like to travel, so I'm participating in Airbnb in order to supplement my own travel budget. I'm a people-person so I look forward to welcoming visitors.     This is a traditional newly renovated, Louisville style "shotgun house" which means the house flows from front to back. Located on an end street that reminds you of an "alley" in New Orleans, this home is walkable to over 25 locally owned (and outstanding) restaurants, as well as about a dozen small shops.     Neutral tones, newly renovated throughout including bathroom, and DELUXE brand new full size stacking Samsung washer/dryers.
    A very safe urban neighborhood only 10 minutes to downtown Louisville. It is walkable to 25 bars and restaurants and two of the cuter boutiques in the metro area, Him, and Dress and Dwell, are nearby. On Main Street New Albany, mansion row has been restored so you can see the old homes of bourbon magnates and riverboat captains. There is a nice wedding event venue there called Pepin Mansion. Hull and Highwater is one of the better mid range seafood places around.

We highly recommend it and would certainly want to stay again if passing through.

  • The house is a perfect size for anyone in town with a family of four or for a weekend with friends. Both of the bedrooms are big enough for one person or a couple to use. The kitchen has all sorts of amenities to use that not many other hosts would have available (from a refrigerator/freezer with ice, to a few cabinets with food for cooking). The bathroom is also a great size—not too small—and offers extra soap, shampoo, and towels in the closet. The host also has cameras placed outside the house to make sure it is safe from any outside forces. There about 3-4 parking spaces on the street (depending on the size of your vehicles). As far as location goes, you are walking distance from Churchill Downs and about a 10-minute drive or Lyft/Taxi/Uber ride from either downtown or Baxter Ave/Bardstown Rd restaurants. Overall, my stay was wonderful. I highly recommend this to anyone going to Louisville for a family or weekend trip.

Please bear in mind you're staying in a residential / commercial area within the city. It's perfectly safe, with lots to enjoy, but it's not suburbia. If you want suburbia, look in St Matthews, but you'll have a further drive.

    This is an amenity packed studio apt we have created in our 1900's shotgun style house. We stayed away from the same old tired décor and this is our homage to Tombstone AZ, (if you have never been there plan a trip! Its awesome!) It has a full bathroom with a unique shower, toilet, sink and lighting. There is a very comfortable full size bed, small closet and dresser, and a dining/work table. There is a full fridge and kitchenette with a breakfast bar to eat at. All small appliances and cookware are available to prepare full meals. Roku TV w/ MLB.tv provided. Private outside deck and gas grill. Small pets (under 30lbs)may be allowed with owners permission. Easy on street parking and secured parking at back of property. We give guests the opportunity to not pay any type of cleaning fee by following a few simple, respectful rules listed in our House Rules so please be sure to read them. This apt may be rented with our larger 1 bed/1 bath apt to make a 2bed/2bath, depending on availability. Please see separate listing we call the Fleur de Lis Plus.
    Diverse urban multi-use ( residential, business, warehouse) neighborhood in the southeast area of downtown Louisville that is close to everything. Logan is a one way street, and we have convenient on street parking available right in front of our house. We also have secured parking for one vehicle at the back of our property, accessible from the back alley. Please let us know if you would like to use this option so we can show you how it works. There are dogs on the block and they do bark. It's not quiet like in the suburbs-Louisville is a large exciting city- but our home is and the neighbors usually are too.

    My boyfriend and I have traveled all over and stayed in many great AirBNBs. It only seemed right that we would get in on the fun as well. We are centrally located, about a 10 minute drive to the Airport, UofL, and Downtown. We are located in Germantown, a great walkable neighborhood that features many great bars and restaurants.
    Our updated, spacious 1920’s style Germantown home is a plant lovers dream! Over the years we’ve collected a large number of plants that are now on display in our home. Staying here will feel like visiting a small botanical garden. Our rooms are upstairs and in the basement, which gives you full range of the downstairs living room and master bedroom. The bedroom features a television with a Roku that is connected to our Netflix account. The kitchen, dining room, and bathroom are shared spaces. We have a half bath upstairs, but we will need to use the shower in the downstairs bathroom. We will do our best to make sure we are not in your way. The kitchen is fully stocked with basics and cooking supplies like butter and flour, you are more than welcome to use them.
    Our neighborhood is bustling Germantown. The neighborhood’s namesake is evident on street signs, which nod to the Reutlinger, Krieger and Goss familes that settled here nearly two centuries ago. German Immigrants settled here in the 1800’s and built factories, warehouses, and candle making stores. Today, Germantown is known for its surviving collection of shotgun homes, neighborhood pride, and an evolving food and bar scene. Our house is a 10 minute walk to a plethora of great bars and restaurants. Our street ends at the Kroger (grocery store) parking lot. Our neighborhood is also well positioned in close proximity to downtown, the highlands, and U of L’s campus. List of places within 0.5 miles. Eiderdown (award winning German restaurant) The Post (our favorite local pizza place) Nach Bar (dive bar, great beer selection) Four Pegs (great pub food and beer scene) Mr. Lee’s (speak easy with an amazing atmosphere) The Pearl (dive bar featuring delicious and affordable cocktails) Kroger (supermarket grocery store) Double Dragon (delicious Chinese take out spot) Kaiju (beer, monsters, games, and live music) I used to be the bar manager for a world renowned whiskey bar and still bartend there a few days week when time permits. I have a unique insight to the food and beverage world of Louisville since I have many contacts and friends in the service industry all across town. I’ve constructed a guide of Louisville that highlights all of our favorite places to eat, drink, and explore. No matter your food preferences, I’m sure you’ll find something in the guide that appeals to you.

The rules of the airbnb were really clear and some recommendations were added to enjoy your stay in Louisville with local addresses. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts as we arrived late and left early, but we were still well welcomed !

    The Highlands is an area in Louisville, Kentucky which contains a high density of nightclubs, eclectic businesses, and many upscale and fast food restaurants. It is centered along a three-mile stretch of Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue (US 31E/US 150) and is so named because it sits atop a ridge between the middle and south forks of Beargrass Creek. Due to its large collection of night clubs and restaurants, it is locally known as "Restaurant Row." The Highlands was the last area near downtown Louisville to be urbanized, since its steep 60 foot incline above the flood plain made travel difficult, and the area showed no signs of urban development until just before the Civil War. Several notable families did own plantations in what is now called the Highlands, spurred by the Louisville and Bardstown Turnpike (today's Bardstown Road). The turnpike was first planned as early as 1784, but authorization to begin construction was delayed until 1819, and thwarted then by the Panic of 1819. Funds were finally allocated in 1829, with construction beginning in 1832.

  • The studio is super cute and clean! Although there's no stove top for longer stays, the fridge and microwave were perfect for our 2 night visit in Louisville. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too. The bed is sooo comfy! One of the bikes had a flat, and the owner immediately brought us a replacement- but after biking the hills at Cherokee Park, it might have been better to skip that adventure. *still sore* The bikes were quality & the ride was fun though. Being in such a central location did mean there was a little bit of traffic noise, but the house is pretty far back from the major, so it wasn't enough to keep me awake. With the bed being so comfortable, no car passing really bothered me. All things considered, I would definitely stay again on our next trip to Louisville.

This newly constructed carriage house has all the amenities for any length of stay, including garage parking with room for bikes or kayaks. Only 2 miles from downtown Louisville, Germantown is nestled between the energetic and historic Highlands neighborhood, beautiful historic Old Louisville, and hipster NULU. Keyless entry makes for seamless check in and out.
    This space was just completed in June 2017, so everything is brand new! The space was designed and furnished for travelers needs. You can securely store bikes or kayaks in the garage. The bedroom has a king bed, and the sofa sleeper has a queen memory foam mattress. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a complete laundry. Shower gel and shampoo (tresemme') are provided.. The shower is large and fully tiled. It's an open floor plan, but the bedroom is separated by sliding doors. Free wifi and a smart tv for your down time. (note 3/12/20: as a precautionary measure, we're disinfecting all solid surfaces with a virucidal solution between guests)
    We love Germantown! Built in the 1900's for all the workers at the local cotton mill, most of the houses are shotgun or cottage style. Recent years have seen a lot of refurbishing, and Germantown is 'the' place to live! It's a great combination of renovation/updates and old-time neighborhood charm, with pubs and cafe's in walking distance. Just to the east is the Highlands, another eclectic neighborhood with lots of boutique shopping and incredible selection restaurants and bars.

  • This space is very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean! There was more than enough space for myself and my partner, and it was located less than 10 minutes from everywhere we wanted to go. Being able to park in a garage was an added bonus compared to other AirBnBs as well. I don’t think that this place should be considered “self” check in, since we had to wait on the host to open the door for us to get in. It was also a bit hard to find and probably would’ve been extremely difficult at night, but we came during the day so it turned out fine. The first time we arrived they didn’t notice our text asking us to be let in so after ten minutes we left and then just returned a few hours later. They did apologize for that though! The hosts were extremely nice over text and sent over multiple local recommendations for us to consider. If you’re looking for a very private, clean space I would recommend this!

    Built in the 1890's, this building was home to Byck's Department Store , THE place for women to shop in the early to mid 20th century. The building was gutted in 2008 and turned into condominiums. The original wood floors and exposed brick remain to give each loft a very unique modern yet historic feel. Centered in the heart of downtown Louisville, you will be within walking distance of most major attractions. Furnishings include stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer, and a very recent upgrade to a new queen bed. No cleaning fee!
    Downtown Louisville is growing by the day. New restaurants pop up in what seems to be weekly and was recently voted #2 in USA TODAY's "best local food scene". The newly developed 4th Street has several local boutiques and shops as well as the historic Palace Theatre located just one block away.

    The Highlands is an area in Louisville, Kentucky which contains a high density of nightclubs, eclectic businesses, and many upscale and fast food restaurants. It is centered along a three-mile stretch of Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue (US 31E/US 150) and is so named because it sits atop a ridge between the middle and south forks of Beargrass Creek. Due to its large collection of night clubs and restaurants, it is locally known as "Restaurant Row." The Highlands was the last area near downtown Louisville to be urbanized, since its steep 60 foot incline above the flood plain made travel difficult, and the area showed no signs of urban development until just before the Civil War. Several notable families did own plantations in what is now called the Highlands, spurred by the Louisville and Bardstown Turnpike (today's Bardstown Road). The turnpike was first planned as early as 1784, but authorization to begin construction was delayed until 1819, and thwarted then by the Panic of 1819. Funds were finally allocated in 1829, with construction beginning in 1832.

  • Brent's place was an easy walk to the Mercury Ballroom and 4th Street. It is a simplistic studio and was clean and easy enough to figure out. It could use a few upgrades and homey touches. And was missing a few light bulbs. Reminded me of a bachelor pad, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Over all it was a clean place to lay our head down after a concert and the check out process was simple. Parking (which is not in Brent's control) was expensive in my opinion. We arrived at 4 pm and left at 830am and were charged $15 in the garage. Wish there was a better option for that. The view on the roof really was neat. That was our favorite part by far. The building itself looks like it could use a facelift, but overall the people were kind and it did the job!

The building is immediately adjacent to the KFC Yum Center Arena, which is the premier sports and concert venue in Louisville! The updated space includes modern finishes and features, making your stay in Louisville feel like your home away from home.
    Our modern 1-bedroom apartment is furnished with a queen bed in the bedroom, a couch, and an air mattress. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay! The kitchen is stocked with cookware to cook simple meals, stainless steel appliances, and a Keurig to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. There's a smart TV with cable, Roku, and Netflix & free WiFi! The building is located in a prime location, in the heart of downtown, and parking may be difficult to find. We recommend parking in the Yum Center Garage, though it can fill quickly during an event. There are bars, restaurants, nightlife, and live music venues on the ground level and noise can be heard in the suite.
    Downtown Louisville is known for combining the old with the new, creating something for everyone. West Main Street has earned the title of “Museum Row” for its variety of museums covering everything from art, sicense, boxing, bourbon, and much more. Your suite is within close proximity to downtown attractions such as Fourth Street Live and The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. Charlesy and Tori checked in daily to make sure we had everything we needed. We were even notified as soon as the cleaners finished cleaning that we could check in earlier than anticipated.     This generously appointed residence is situated in Louisville’s historic and quickly evolving, Butchertown neighborhood, the city’s original meatpacking district, with butcher shops dominating the area. The first homes in this enclave were built in the 1820s. Historic and modern elements are captured in this comfortable and finely-restored 100-year-old residence. This private suite features original wooden floors, and is decorated with local artwork, as well as one queen sized bed, with memory foam mattress. A well-appointed bathroom features tiled floors and a beautiful shower with glass doors. All units enjoy natural light, as well as desks or workspaces, and most have exposed brick. Mini fridges and microwaves occupy every unit, though freezers and access to ice are unavailable. Laundry facilities are on-site for guest use. They were extremely helpful in their recommendations and responded promptly with any questions we had. The triple locks made us feel very safe and the room was extremely cozy and comfortable; the local brochures in the room were a nice touch. Due to some unexpected weather we arrived pretty late to the room and they were extremely understanding and sympathetic to the situation. Highly recommend the stay for anyone visiting Louisville as it’s affordable, safe, convenient and charming. Thank you again!
