Cottage vacation rentals in Tarbert

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away, even though it was raining most of the time. We loved the location on the river especially when sat in the hot tub relaxing.

Lovely time with family at this great cottage. We had never been to this part of Scotland before and Penpont was a very convenient base to explore from. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for four adults - we loved the log fire and the hot tub! The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and the beds are comfortable. An excellent place to stay for small groups.

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

We enjoy this cottage so much that this is the 3rd time we have been. The perfect place to relax.

Our stay at Laura's house was incredible. She provided everything we needed and more. We had our 1yr and 3yr with us and she had a toy for them, provided a high chair and bath seat along with the cot we requested. The house was so clean and beautiful, everything was perfect! Loved being surrounded by farm land, you can see Wallace Monument from the back of the house. The back patio is fenced in so our boys could play safely. We loved the hot tub! What a bonus! Laura responded to every message immediately, she had a welcome basket of food and champagne for us, she was so helpful and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

Beautiful little cottage, garden and surroundings. After a stressful and long few months establishing a relocated business it was lovely to let go and do nothing in peace! The repurposed and upcycled features are gorgeous and the garden was perfect for our inquisitive and active dog to entertain himself without worry of him getting out. Sitting on the veranda with wine and the fire-pit going whilst watching the rain was just perfect (for me, a weird inclement weather lover!).

We absolutely adored our stay here. It was very comfortable and cozy, felt like home instantly. Walking distance to a wonderful restaurant that had been recommended. just loved our stay. our only regret was not staying longer. beautiful cottage, beautiful surroundings, top notch hosts. ohhh and there was fresh bread for us! still warm! seriously if you are considering staying here, do yourself a favour and just do it!

Really enjoyed our week on the North Coast, and Audrey’s cottage was the perfect setting for us. Being pet friendly was an added bonus.

Lovely place to stay in the middle of Bowmore. Great base for walking, cycling etc. on Islay. Lovely house with a stream through the garden.

We had a lovely stay at Cornelius's place. The location was great, cottage was comfy and warm (we loved the wood stove, kept the whole place warm). Perfect last minute find for a one night stay. Was bless with sun and clear sky for star gazing on the patio. Cottage is a few minutes walk to the loch edge, that I took full advantage of with a morning dip (albeit I had planned for a swim….) It was perfectly stocked, even with a small bottle of milk and cake (and robes and blanket)! Forever grateful for the memories made! Already planning for a winter return!

Had a lovely couple of days here for my birthday- the cottage really feels like a home from home and there are lots of little extras which make the experience, such as games, paintings, pantry items and we loved watching the birds on the feeders - we saw wood peckers and a buzzard sat in the tree opposite. Adrienne is really responsive and made the experience really easy for us! Thanks again x

The cottage is in a beautiful location, with walking from the door and useful nearby amenities in Strachur. The space is well thought out and the garden and seating lovely to enjoy a cup of tea in the sunshine. The bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was great too! Well equipped kitchen for self catering, we also tried The Creggans Inn and had a lovely meal there especially the local seafood. Highlights for us were walking the Cowal way from the door toward Curran Lochain which makes a beautiful spot for a picnic and visiting Inverary and castle.

We loved Fairy Cottage's location, very peaceful, but there is lots to do in the surrounding area and it's very close to Lochside where we were attending a wedding reception. Hugh was so helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for a stay in this area. We only wished that we could have stayed longer - we were there for just 1 night. Angela had left us some little cakes which were much appreciated by us with a cup of tea after our 5 hour jorney from Lancashire after delays on the M6. Would definitely recommend Fairy Cottage if you're ever in New Cumnock area. Many thanks Hugh and Angela! Peter and Diane
