Orchard Cottage is secluded and set in open countryside adjoining the owners' home. Beyond the cottage garden, the property enjoys panoramic views of the local countryside and the distant Lakeland fells.
“This place is so lovely. A beautiful location and building - just the right mix between feeling in the middle-of-nowhere and able to get to town in just twelve minutes. It was so quiet that you could only hear the birds and rain on the windows. The inside was well decorated and cosy, and Jenny was so helpful! I'd definitely recommend to a friend.”
Our bungalow, Oban, is in a great location on the edge of the Lake District. We are just five minutes from the beach with views up the Duddon Estuary with the glorious backdrop of the Cumbrian Fells. It is ideal for families who enjoy the outdoor life as there are so many walks just locally or in the Lakes. Your pets are very welcome. The village of Ireleth is quiet but very friendly and there are shops and take aways nearby in Askam.
“Great bungalow in a lovely location, Karen does her best to make you feel welcome and provides little touches like bread and milk, real butter, jams etc for your stay. It's like a home from home, immaculately clean and spacious with plenty of parking at the front and side. I have had the pleasure of staying in Karen's bungalow a few times now and would highly recommend anyone to enjoying a stay there. Thanks again Karen from Carl and the lads.”
Tucked away up a track on the edge of the National Park, it's peaceful and quiet here. A great base for exploring the beautiful mountains and coast of the western Lake District, and within easy reach of the busier areas of the central Lakes. Or you can enjoy the house and large garden surrounded by fields and mountains, with panoramic views of the hills. There's a barbeque, and the optional extra of a hot tub. (We ask for £10 for a 2 night stay if you want the hot tub).
“It was a real delight to stay at the Woodhouse cottage. Phil was there to greet and to show me around. It was an unexpected surprise to find that Phil & Sarah had thoughfully provided a 'welcome pack' of the essential items, including milk, bread, butter, jams and eggs in the fridge, as well as breakfast cereal, tea and coffee in the cupboards. The lounge features one of the comfiest sofas I've ever had the pleasure to 'crash' on. The TV has the usual range of terrestrial channels, as well as Amazon Prime, which was totally unexpected. Also a gorgeous wood burning stove, already set up for lighting, as well as a good supply of logs, provided for snug evenings in front of the tele. The double bed was very comfy and cosy and I slept like the proverbial log. The shower room/toilet was very nicely presented. In fact the entire guest suite was funished and finished to a very high standard throughout. Finally, the cottage is located in a spot of unparalleled beauty, with spectacular views to the front and lakeland fells to the sides and rear. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage and hope to stay again, when I'm up that way next. Cheers Phil and Sarah.”
