Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". We hope that a stay at the Temple will deliver this experience and stay true to this vision.

We have created a luxury suite, comprising of a comfortable and spacious lounge, double bedroom and bathroom. within our home. The lounge includes sofas, table, lamps, coat stand. Upstairs a standard double bedroom with an adjoining shower room. This space is separated by an internal door. Our rental are rooms in our home Our home is in the beautiful Galloway landscape, just a few hundred yards from Loch Ken and very accessible to the many outdoor activities that Galloway has to offer

Open all year. Argyll Retreat is a cosy timber cabin located in the Argyll Forest Park and Loch Lomond and Trossachs Natiomal Park. It is owned and managed by myself. The lodge is layed out for a couple or solo travellers and pets are very welcome and stay at no extra charge. There are many activities in the area for the outdoor enthusiast and Argyll is steeped in history and has miles of coastline, lochs, forests and mountains. The lodge is also a great place to relax. Small but lovely one bedroom first floor flat in the beautiful village of Lochwinnoch with views of Castle Semple Loch. The flat can accommodate 4 people as the sofa pulls out to a sofa bed but the flat is small so please bear this in mind when booking. We are happy to accept pets but only small dogs please.
