Waterfront vacation rentals in Douro River

Carlos very kindly collected us from the bus station which he didn't have to do, so I appreciate that. He showed us around the town on the way to the apartment and gave us recommendations. I really appreciate it. The weather wasn't good but nobody can do anything about that. Great host and beautiful apartment.

We had an excellent time staying at Le Blanche! Everything was exactly as described. Bed and couch were very comfy, the view was magical, and it was in an easily accessible location. We enjoyed the novelty of the futuristic design and we are glad we stayed there!

Our stay was wonderful! Pedro was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout. Even though we happened to be there during a nationwide power outage, both he and the neighbors were kind and supportive, which made a big difference. Pedro arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and later taken to the bus station by a private driver, Bruno, who was not only a great driver but also very kind and professional. Pedro stayed in touch throughout our stay and was always available whenever we needed anything. The only downside of our stay was the shower—it didn’t have a handheld showerhead, and it was mounted quite high, so it was difficult to avoid getting your hair wet even if you didn’t want to. Thank you for everything!

Maria et José ont été très accueillant et d’une gentillesse incroyable. Ils ont été très réactif à la moindre question avant et pendant notre séjour. La localisation du logement est idéal si on cherche à être en bord de mer. Nous reviendrons très certainement !

El lugar tiene una ubicación excelente, con una vista inolvidable de la ciudad, y a pocos pasos de las mayores atracciones, aún manteniéndose en un entorno de tranquilidad. Una combinación acertada.

El apartamento es hermoso, tiene todo lo que se necesita, las camas son cómodas, la comunicación es fácil, Cristina es super amable.

This AirB&B is perfectly located, as you can see from the pictures it overlooks the Douro River and the square below. The unit feels very homey when you walk in and having the elevator was an added bonus. The streets in Portugal are steep in places and generally cobblestone, so keep that in mind when picking your shoe and luggage choices. The main bedroom has two single beds that can be pushed together, right outside that room is a small loveseat that has a pullout bed, and the couch in the living room has a pullout as well. We visited during Easter holiday weekend, so we quickly found out that sleeping in the living room was not advisable as there isn't much sound barrier from the square, esp. since one widow doesn't have glass - just wooden shutters. Luckily, we only stayed two nights, so we made it work. Overall, the unit was great and we'd definitely stay there again.

The little house is so sweet and kind of special. The garden is awesome and perfect for kids. Unfortunately, we didn’t know the pool season starts not until June. So we and our child enjoyed the beautiful garden. José is very friendly and helpful in every situation. Also there is a bread delivery every morning, that’s amazing. We can definitely recommend that place for people who love nature and quiet.

Een fijn huisje op een mooie plek. Dichtbij zee en het dorp en de haven makkelijk bereikbaar. De drukke weg zo dichtbij huis was in het begin erg aanwezig en moest wel wennen. Maar went uiteindelijk wel en we hebben er een heerlijke week gehad!

Wonderful accommodation that was stylishly furnished. The location was incredible, with views of the river!

A very quiet, rustic and rural setting. Sooooooo peaceful. Fantastic place to escape the city, get some rest and reconnect with nature. The outdoor, wood-heated bath was great, although it did seem a little decadent for just one person. Ideal for a couple. There is a river and Diogo (who is very friendly and very helpful) said he has a canoe. Although it was still quite cool in the mornings (early April), there is a wood-burner and an AC unit that also heats. The driveway is do-able but more for adventurous drivers. The village (Macieira da Maia) is very authentic and it is only about 10-15 min to the beach. Vila do Conde has a beautiful old-town. Many great beaches along the coast. Braga is only about 40 min, Oporto, about 20-30 min by car.

Fantastic place, so very well equipped and great location. We loved it here and would love to stay again. We had a problem with the boiler when we arrived and Marta was quick To get it working again. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Bad weather didn't disturb my calm stay at Aguda's beach. Close to restaurants and the train station (Porto 20min), Aguda is a perfect spot for a rest, with the place right in front of the beach with fully functional facilities (including washing machine). Elisa was very reactive and attentive, which was greatly appreciated.

La verdad que no hemos tenido suerte con el tiempo , lo cual nos centramos más en el turismo gastronómico . Tanto ese municipio como los cercanos , tienen muy buenos sitios para comer rico y barato. Y de la casa nada malo que decir , estaba todo perfecto. Gracias por todo.

A nossa estadia foi ótima! Tudo conforme descrito, apartamento muito acolhedor e perto de tudo! Elisabeth & Eduardo são pessoas muitos amáveis e prontas a ajudar em qualquer dúvida! Certamente um dia iremos voltar! Recomendo vivamente! Obrigado!

We had a wonderful week in Felipes apartment. As host, Filipe was the most helpful we have ever had. Local tips, helpfulness and service - and a nice sence of humour. The apartment were big, and the terrasse is a wonder with it's stunning view. We have already booked our next stay at Filipes; actually we did, whilst we were sitting i the apartment:-)

Merci à Daniel et Élisabeth pour leur accueil chaleureux. Nous nous sommes sentis très bien dans cet appartement, idéalement situé dans un joli quartier. Tout était propre, et le lit confortable. Nous espérons pouvoir y séjourner à nouveau !

Wir habe noch nie eine so gepflegte, saubere und gut ausgestattete Wohnung erlebt. Sie entspricht zu 100% den Fotos. Es gibt einen großen Tiefgaragenstellplatz. Der Vermieter Manuel hat sich proaktiv gekümmert und mehrfach nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung sei. Die Lage ist direkt am Hauptstrand von Esmoriz, nur durch die Uferstrasse getrennt. Allerdings sollte man beachten, dass Ende August direkt vor dem Haus ein Jahrmarkt mit entsprechender Lautstärke am Nachmittag und Abend stattfindet.

Wir haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es hat uns dort an nichts gefehlt. Es gab unter anderem gesammelte Informationen zu allem, was man an Fragen hätte haben können. Sehr aufmerksam und proaktiv. Ana ist eine sehr herzliche und aufmerksame Gastgeberin. Vielen Dank!

María Jesús y su marido han sido encantadores, su casa es muy acogedora y práctica,hay de todo, nos ha encantado. Solo nos faltó un poquito de sol para disfrutar de la terraza, que es muy top. Gracias por todo, esperamos volver. Un abrazo

Excelente apartamento, con una ubicación fantástica. Estaba todo tal cual se describe y en perfecto estado. Parking muy cómodo. Desde la puerta tienes un paseo hacia O Grove que es un lujazo de vistas a la Ría. Totalmente recomendable. Repetiremos

Hemos estado cuatro noches. Al apartamento no le falta de nada, destacando la plaza de garaje, muy buena e imprescindible pasar el día fuera y tener la tranquilidad de aparcar en casa. la zona fantástica en pleno paseo marítimo a cinco minutos del puente q nos lleva a la isla de la roja por un lado y por el otro el la zona portuaria y la pequeña playa urbana. Todo esto a pie; y la calle de detrás y colindantes, tranquilas pero con comercios y restauración. Fantástico para visitar toda la zona de O Grove y sus playas y en un radio de 15km , Sanxenxo, Portonovo, la lanzada... Resumiendo un apartamento acorde a su anfitrión y localización, de 10!
