Donegal Mountain Lodge

AndyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed in this beautiful place, away from the crowds and overlooking Mount Errigal. The location is stunning — on clear days, you can see the sea and rolling hills. Caoimhe’s house opens onto peaceful bogland, and we went for walks there every day. It’s simply beautiful. The house is fully loaded. Just bring your clothes and food. The fireplace with two big couches was perfect after long days of hiking and exploring — some of our favourite moments. We also enjoyed chatting with Ian and their son, Luke. On the last day, Ian left us with a question that kept us thinking the whole way home. An added bonus: Loki, the friendly border collie, and three playful cats (the “Gucci gang”) are always around. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to unplug and just be.

Hillview Hideaway Loughanure Donegal now with WiFi

Mo's apartment was by far the best AirBnB we have ever stayed in. Sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, and with a gorgeous view. Fully equipped kitchen with all the basics you could want. The location is so nice and quiet, still the pub is only a 3 minute walk away and there's lots of things to see and do in the area. We enjoyed our coffee and tea outside in the sun chairs and wished we could have stayed longer.

Wild West Irish Cabin 'Take only Memories'

BerkayRating, 5 stars2 days ago
I had a really peaceful and quiet stay surrounded by beautiful nature. It’s a lovely spot if you’re looking to escape the city for a few days and enjoy some calm. The cabin is basic but has everything you need — ideal if you’re into simple, nature-focused living. Anthea was incredibly kind and genuine. She is great person. She even picked me up from Crolly Park when I arrived and brought me back there when I was leaving — something I really didn’t expect but deeply appreciated. Just a heads-up for others: local bars are closed from Monday to Thursday, and the nearest shop (Mace) is around a 20-minute walk. Also, the water was cut off for a while during my stay, but thankfully it came back within a few hours. The bus journey from Dublin took about 5 hours and 10 minutes, so it’s worth planning ahead. All in all, it was a special little experience — quiet, natural, and with a lovely host. If you’re happy with a more outdoorsy setup, you’ll probably really enjoy it here.
